The relationship you have with the tool truck guy is directly proportional to the amount you spend, generally.

Hell, I didn't even know when the tool trucks showed up most of the time because they very seldom talked to me since they knew I wasn't going to spend money with them.

I never buy anything on the tool trucks anymore. You can buy these tools online for half the price. With the amount of money that's saved you can buy two of each tool, Then if something breaks it's not a big deal because you have another one to use while it's being sent off to be replaced.

Your 3/8 impact socket set is over $300 on the Snap-on website. I think i will stick with my $25 Tekton set.

I bought the 3/8 drive metric deep and shallow impact socket set off the tool truck for just over $300.00. My shallow set alone was $130.00. So just because it says $300+ on the website, doesn't mean you can't get them cheaper on the tool truck, or ebay or facebook marketplace.

Snap-on CT9075 = $690, Milwaukee 2767 = $329 (both in cdn$, tools only). So, you could buy 2 Milwaukee's and still not equal the cost of the Snap on. Snap on is 2 years warranty, Milwaukee is 5.

Hey, you pointed out it's easy to trash torx chrome sockets by using an impact. Have you used impact versions?
@smitty2jones

$125 to rebuild is a good deal? The m12 fuel ratchet is only $150-$170, and has 5x the warranty. The only downside is that you're without a tool if it's warranty, or while Amazon 2-day ships it, or you drove to Home Depot, both of which are probably faster than waiting for Snap On. My m18 low torque 3/8 impact ate shit, so while I waited for it I bought a Bauer from HF. That thing didn't last a month, so I returned it for a full refund. My old 3/8" Mac micrometer torque wrench is now a waste because Mac doesn't have the head rebuild kit anymore :( $320 ratchet that's now a paperweight.

I buy sockets from all over the place. I have snap on, Matco, mac, expert, blue point, Pittsburgh, tekton, craftsman, duralast etc etc etc. my thing is I buy them when they’re on a good deal. And let me just say... they all accomplish the same job. I have multiple of the same sockets and when they break I grab another. My point is some sockets are so inexpensive I’d rather buy a whole new set and have extras than pay hundreds for tool truck brands. Also most sockets are lifetime warranty anyway.

Haven't had to have any of them rebuilt or replaced (including batteries) so far , unlike 2 of my Milwaukee tools & 3 of their batteries. I think this was my question! Thank you. Or someone was thinking the same thing lol. Can't wait for the next giveaway you do in the future. I missed out on this one, but I'm going to get in on the next one. I would definitely agree with the ratchet from snap on. I love their tools, but they are expensive. I just try to build my collection over time. I just bought some snap on screwdrivers and they are awesome. I still love Milwaukee though and durability on wrenches and ratchets they beat snap on. I truly think snap on is mostly a name, with some exceptions mainly the tools in this video, but for people that love tools they are something you just want because you want it. And if you want something really bad you should get it. Life is too short not to buy at least one thing snap on! I go cheap on some stuff and expensive on others. Depends on how much I use it and this is why I wanted to see a video like this! Great job!

I can buy three Milwaukee for price of the Snap-on they need to step up and give the longest warranty as they cost the most. Same goes for the impact sockets and chrome sockets. I don’t want to pay way more than I need to. Don’t get me wrong I like their stuff but it’s way overpriced and it is good quality. I do own some tool truck tools and would love a Snap-on tool box but they are way overpriced as well same goes for icon stuff not even close to what I think they should cost. I however respect your opinion and it’s your money and your choice just like your subs can choose what they want. Those tools you listed I would agree are ones that are good to have. There is a lot of your content I agree with but unfortunately I do not agree with this. My experience with tool truck items is that they take a week to replace..unless I was lucky and broke it the day before the truck came. Sockets from companies like sunex are much easier to warranty and with that said I beat the crap out of mine and the only ones to break are torx..2days later I have replacements. And as for the Snapon impacts, cost to much for what you get and it’s still now the best out there. And the sent out for rebuild? I’ve watched other techs wait a month to get it back..everything on this list imo is bad advise minus the Matco ratchet.. both Matco and snappy are great and would definitely recommend them to any tech.

I would've said the 4 pry bar set from snap on instead of the socket set, because in my case I do put them through hell and I do like to get them replaced often lol, impact sockets in my opinion, pretty much everybody makes good sockets and most of the stores I buy them from are 30 minutes away and at this point almost everybody gives lifetime warranty, so I wouldn't buy them from the truck, but hey good videos man, I never comment on your videos but that power probe vs snap on video made my mind from which to buy! It really depends on the area and weather the shop has the hours for it. You could be offered $30 an hour but if the shop doesn’t have enough hours it’s not worth it. Around here in Ohio with enough hours, $23 an hour for a level one is very good.

To be honest you’re half inch impact statement is almost there, and I’ll explain why. You can honestly get almost every brand of half-inch impact off of a toll truck. I have seen Milwaukee tools and every tool truck besides Mac, because Mac sells dewalt. You can get Ingersoll and air cat on the Cornwell truck, i’ve seen Ingersoll on Snap On tracks, it was just that specific dealer but still. If you have a good tool dealer if you want something they don’t have they might just get it for you.
@steverothgery3234
@steverothgery3234 4 жыл бұрын
Don’t get me wrong I 100% percent think you’re right with getting your impact/impacts off of a toll truck. Sidenote it’s odd to me that the Snap On brushless impacts internals are more beefy compared to Milwaukee or Dewalt and it has a lower warranty period. Snap On one may look better on paper but can’t compete with Milwaukee’s price and warranty. And in my experience if you have a broken electric or air impact and it needs to be serviced the dealers (as in tool trucks) never touch them and they get sent in to get repaired for that flat price like you mentioned, Or they just get traded in. If you have a good relationship with your tool truck you might get one loaned out till yours comes back in but I’ve never personally seen that.

Gotta disagree with you on buying sockets on the tool truck for impact sockets. And believe me when I say i'm a snap on guy for most things. I love my epiq cab setup. But I've always used harbor freight impact sockets and never broken one. Had one get damaged through a little bit of abuse but they are still lifetime warranty and the store is only 5 minutes away from me where as I might have to wait a week for my snap on rep. I have plenty of snap on chrome sockets. But i think most impact sockets are all pretty close in quality.
