That crate looks phenomenal! Aging it with the torch just took it to the next level. Please be careful with that table saw bro, you're very talented and would hate to see you loose some fingers on accident.

I normally don't make safety comments, on personal freedom and responsibility grounds, but in this case it's so egregious I feel compelled to make an exception, lest some viewer feels it's a good idea to try this. *Never* freehand wood through a 5,000 rpm spinning blade! Relax your grip for less than an instant, accidentally give the wood a slight twist and bind against the side of the blade, and the bottom of the workpiece can so easily be kicked back toward you, bringing your hands down into the blade before you know it. Taking 10 minutes to throw together a crosscut sled with a tall rear fence to brace the upright piece against (or even 2 minutes to screw a wide board to your miter gauge and brace against that), could save a lifetime of not having your fingers!

Can confirm... made that mistake _once_ while free-handing wood through a router. The bit hit a hidden nail, instantly yanked the wood, pulled my hand in, and chewed off the end of my finger down to the bone in a flash. Nothing to stitch, so the doc had to cauterize. Luckily the skin grew back and it's hard to tell now, but that part of finger doesn't have any nerve endings.

Hi Paul Glad you made a full recovery and it appears it’s been a lesson learnt. Myself not quite so lucky but always remain as positive as possible, although I have a life long impact it could have been worse and does not effect my job as a mental health nurse.

Great crate! No B.S. either! Dowels and Box nails! A proper bottom on it as well, no plywood! I felt compelled to take your box, one or two steps backwards in history and use only glue and dowels, same box-corner/rabbet joinery! One without a lid, and one with a lid, hinged on dowels! Food for thought!! Thanks again!! Keep it going!!

5 coats of polyurethane would make that box look a lot better and if you use cedar wood it enhances the burned look way more. I like the trick on making the stencil using the printer, i always cut mine out by hand but yours are way better.

Thanks. No, same technique, just the blowtorch to burn wood. The wood for the bottom was darker because it was exposed to the weather before i used it

Wolfcraft dowelling jig.There is a better model of this tool, the wolfcraft dowel pro dowelling jig kit, but if you want more accuracy you can use a biscuit joiner.

Hi, I'm sorry to disappoint you. I still have all my fingers. This is a hobby for me and I'm working abroad for a year now, doing another job, so I don't have time and I don't have my tools with me. Fabrizio Santoriello Ciao, è un plotter da taglio, in questo caso un Silhouette Cameo, e gli stencil sono realizzati intagliando dei fogli di vinile o fogli dello stesso materiale plastico di cui sono fatte le buste portadocumenti

What is the name of the dowel jig you're using? I like that you can line up the dowels by sitting on the opposite dowel.

I didn't use any dowel jig. The wooden box is not so small, infact the dowel height is 2 inches, so the dowel jig is not necessary. I drew the dowels on both sides of 2 panels and cut them off with jigsaw and tablesaw. After i used this panels (as a mask, as a negative) to draw the opposite dowels on both sides of the other 2 panels using jigsaw and tablesaw, as you see in the video.

+Riccardo Rick Ciao, le ho prese su ebay. Per uso hobby vanno bene, hanno dei difetti che ho limitato con degli accorgimenti. Meglio l'MLT100 della Makita, pur avendo dei difetti è più precisa, e come radiale la evolution rage.

Sì l'esperienza non conta molto. Non puoi prevedere la sfiga quindi è meglio prevenire. Se uno può venire centrato da un fulmine figurati se a te per molto meno non può scappare il pezzo di mano. Il video diventa interessante ma molto macabro...

I worked with my son for years carefully and respectfully making lots of different cuts on different saws, to make drawers, cabinets, doors, benches, picture frames, etc. I feel confused by this video. I feel like I lost my mind.
