Rusty big survival knife restoration. I decided to restore this big rusty knife. The blade was very rusty. I removed the rust and made a new handle. I hope you liked my restoration.

I saw all those rust pits, but seeing how thick that blade was, I figured they could be to polish out, and it seems you did as well. Looks very nice and amazing project. Thumbs Up!

Вітаю. Непогана реставрація. Якщо ножем планується працювати, плашки потрібно додатково клеїти на епоксидку (деревина не стабілізована. З часом між плашками і металом почне накопичуватись волога і бруд). І ще, від ножа сильно віє "холодом" та ККУ (хоча біля п'яти є послаблення клинка, та все ж потрапляти з ним до поліції не раджу).

Ніякого "холоду", як мінімум по одній ознаці. Те, що ніж великий і страшний на вигляд не означає, що він "холодний". Більше буде залежати від настрою "співрозмовника" та обізнаності того, хто носить такий ніж.

When moving from Bolster to the wooden handle, there are large gaps and the transition is very sharp, not smooth: from an angular bolster to a rounded handle.

Given that the knife looks as if it was inspired by the jaw of an angler fish or somesuch, I reckon it was in need of a bit of roundness somewhere...

Out of curiosity, how would one remedy that? Just take a bit off of the bolster until it’s flush? Or would you have to make a whole new one???

honestly if it’s going to be a survival knife don’t polish it cause once it hits daylight the polish is gonna be ruined and the process of polishing the blade was just wasted on
