This the Part 2 video of painting my rusty old shed. I used all rust-oleum products. The last coat was an oil based product for durability and longevity. Painting the shed part 1: • Give that old rusty me...

One thing to remember are cars parked around the vicinity of overspray when spraying a large roof. Don't wanna pay for alot of paintjobs.
@Waveshank2 жыл бұрын
Good point. No cars anywhere near. The roof paint was applied with a roller in this case. Thanks for watching.

How many bottles of reformer did you end up needing? I can't imagine that little thing lasting for the whole roof....
@Waveshank2 жыл бұрын
One quart did the whole roof on the shed roof actually with nothing left. It's and 8x8 arrow shed. Thanks for watching.

Hi, on the roof, you used the rust reformer then primer then paint. Do you have to wait 24hrs or just 4hrs between applications?
@Waveshank3 жыл бұрын
Reformer, primer, then paint. I did one layer each day. I think you can paint even sooner between coats. Check the label on the can, I forget. Thanks for watching.

Did you prime right on top of the rust or sand it down first? Edit: I see you applied that rust reformer. Is that it? No sanding necessary?
@Waveshank Жыл бұрын
I didn't have to sand because it was surface rust.

Was the small bottle of reformer enough? I am doing it this weekend.

Was your roof leaking before you painted it? I think my shed leaks so I wonder if its worth doing this.
@Waveshank Жыл бұрын
It was not leaking before.

What is the purpose of using the rust reformer?
@mikepate9371 Жыл бұрын
It converts the rust to a paintable survace iron phosphate I think it turns to anyway if you don't use this rust will just come back supposed it stops it personally I feel better about stripping it off to bare as close as possible then use converter and paint .
