I love that you don’t cut out the “not so perfect” moments because that keeps it REAL! Most of us from time to time, no matter how “accomplished” we are, have a cake that sticks, comes out in pieces (and pie crusts). We have over frothed more times than we can count. Kudos to you for teaching math and reading while calmly allowing your helper to help. Good job Mama!!

I love how your videos are so normal like real people. I always make a mess when I’m the kitchen. That little Harrison is just so precious. And your Hedesa and Mitchell have so much patience with the 3 younger ones. It was cute Kendrick showing Harrison how to play that finger string game. I’m making a pumpkin roll today. I will freeze some for Thanksgiving. Thanks RuthAnn for giving a wonderful look into farming life. You and Elvin are really really kind and generous loving parents. I hope others incorporate your values into their lives. The world would be a better place

It’s very clear that what you are filming is your ‘real’ life, i can tell because of the way your son looks at you, and you at him….full of love! Thank you Ruthann for sharing the reminder of how you get paid! I wouldn’t have deliberately let the commercials run after the video if it wasn’t for your message. I’m not completely sure how KZfaq works, but I appreciate not being interrupted during the video, and instead can keep the video going after the end to allow for the commercials to play I like the thought, that in some small way, I am able to support your efforts in sharing your family’s faith, values, and daily experiences. You and your family are a pleasure to watch!

I have wondered how people make money doing videos, and after hearing Ruth Ann explain, I make sure to watch the entire video, commercials and all, and click on like. She is worth her weight in gold and I'm sure there are a dozen other things she could be doing, but she shares her wisdom with us. I find myself watching hours and hours of Homesteading with the Zimmermans.

Loved, loved, loved this video! Thank you for not editing out little messes or mistakes. Helps the rest of us so much because as we are learning and trying new things, there are indeed messes and mistakes along the way! You are such an encouraging teacher. My favorite part of this video, though, was when you whistled for the family to come to dinner. For many years I've relied on my whistle to get children to come in from playing...and now, for my husband to come in from working. Better than a dinner bell! Blessings, Marie

I just listened to Lisa's interview of you on homemaking (Simple Farmhouse Life). This is the comment I left for her: "My mom was born into the Danish community in "the Middle of the Mitten" (Montcalm County, Michigan). She lived the farm life. I could make so many comments on everything you talked about...cooking, cleaning, family meals, gardening, picking up potatoes, raising animals, milking cows, cranking the separator, sewing, quilting, crocheting, singing in the kitchen, playing the piano, going to church & Sunday School. Grandpa started farming in 1920 with two white work horses, Fanny & Molly, but later transitioned to the "iron horse". Although my dad sold our dairy farm and moved us to a small town in northern Michigan when I was quite young, her ways were passed on to my brother and me. (There's a lot to learn from small-town living too which has faded fast.) So, so interesting! I love Ruth Ann's insight into family interaction and relationships. Thank you."
