I am a lawyer living in PA , i drag my butt every day to work and dream of getting away from it all...sometimes i stand in that court room and i have a radical idea of just throwing everything in the air and walking out and just hopping on a bus and driving to the nearest RV dealership lol! Honestly though you guys are my favorite out of all the crazy popular youtube channels out there, because you remind me of the kinds of people i would get along with...just real and authentic. I also live vicariously through these channels because i really really dont wanna work 14 hour days any more, but i went through college and have all this school debt, so i feel my hands are tied. =\

No Crown Royal for Chris?!?! Good googly moogly!!!! Personally I'm a Jack drinker and that Crown stuff will kill you. My friends know where I stand on that. Some of my friends are Crown drinkers which explains a few things about them... but when they come over for a board meeting of the barbeque, they leave some Crown product behind. I tell them not to bring any because they left plenty last time. So they bring more. I carry a bottle of Crown in my rig for company but no takers. When you come up this summer to Alaska, I can help balance your budget and pass several bottles Chris's way because, well, its a friendly Alaskan thing and it gets that stuff out of my house and my rig!!! 😂😅 I just had to poke a little fun at Chris because Jack and Crown drinkers have had a fun rivalry for sometime. But seriously, take my Crown, please!!! ;-)

@@oureverydaygetaway I'm just here to help a brother out! And get some Crown clutter gone! ;-) I'm usuly on the Kenai peninsula at either a state or federal campground. I only do an RV park if its all that is there. I could easily boondock, I have the better than average solar and lithium battery bank which makes my tanks my limiting factor. But for the most part, because of that working for a living thing, I like to know where I'm parking my glamper after I get off work Friday night. But I will give you tips on a couple campgrounds on the Kenai Peninsula, heading towards Soldotna, Kenai or Homer. The first 3 are in the Cooper Landing area. Quartz Creek, especially if you can get a cancellation on spots 38 & 39. Those two are lake front on Kenai Lake. In my opinion, the nicest spots I've ever camped at. The restaurant where you turn off of the Sterling highway to go to the campground ain't too shabby either. Very local operation there. My next and most regular is Cooper Creek South. If spot 18 is open and I'm not using is... ;-) jump for.that one. It is the only one on the creek, its a bit shaded. But for me, the sound of the running creek, I sleep like a corpse there. There is also a small restaurant and bar next to that campground within walking distance just a stones toss south, try the pulled pork Nachos. The next campground is the Russian River campground. It may be closed for rennovations, they are doing a serious overhaul to the roads and the drainages. But if they are open, its a bigger campground with a lot of loops, most spots are good there. Those 3 can be booked on rec.gov . Those are also dry camping. No hookups. If you head Homer direction, a tip is to not camp in homer, its a busy place at the end of the road. But Anchor Point, just a few miles outside of Homer, take the Old Sterling Highway and head to the water. There are several campgrounds and one RV park with full hookups, bath houses and a view. The first campground if you are dry camping is called Slide Hole. It is a State of Alaska campground, decent size and reasonably clean. It is first come first served. Then right after that on the same side of the road is Kyllonen's RV park. They have partial and full hookups. Its not a big RV park but the people are nice and its not to shabby of a joint either. That's where we stay when we do our epic ATV ride on the beach to Homer. The fun fact about going to either of those is that the road is the Old Sterling Highway and it is the western most highway in North America. Also, if you go to the end of the road, there is a veiwpoint which if the weather is good, there is a pictorial map of the volcanos across Cook Inlet from there. Alaska is a big part of the Pacific Ring of Fire. But from Anchor Point you can drive into Homer, out to the Spit and see all the touristy things, and at the end of the day, you come back to a quiet campsite. They say Homer is a small drinking town with a big fishing problem. If you want to do a fishing charter, I recommend sailing out of Homer rather than Seward. But that is just me. Wow, that got long all the sudden! But I thought while Im trying to pawn a couple bottles of Crown to Chris for the budget, I'd pass along several good places to stop for a night or a week.

People say it’s expensive but let me tell you the living in a stick and brick home is expensive too. You have taxes that you have to deal with. We live in the new area new home so we’re really paying through the roof. Of course we’re in Southern California. You have your utilities maybe you don’t have gas because you’re not dragging around your stick and brick home but still I think your budget was pretty well Done yes I like alcohol too and I budget carefully. My wife She likes to drinks. Good on this video thank you.

That was interesting! Surprisingly, I spent about the same amount on fuel last year that you did. I ended up visiting 26 states last year. I expect it to be much less this year, because I am deliberately spending the spring and summer in one state, typically staying in one place for two weeks at a time And minimizing my travel costs. I’ll be interested to see if at the end of the summer. I am satisfied with that mode of travel. I’m hopeful! Passport America is great for me as an option. When I need to recharge, maybe run the AC overnight dump tanks and do laundry. I can usually find one in an area that I’m traveling through for about 15 bucks a night. I don’t think of Passport America locations as destinations as much as I think of them as a place to do errands. I agree with you about harvest house, it is not a money, saving opportunity. However, mostly they’re very fun!

Glad it was helpful! We're curious to see what the difference is as well. It may change the way we travel next year.

Thank you for sharing. Congratulations on the ability to have this journey. You earned it! We do still work remote and still thoroughly enjoy the rv life. We have never kept a stringent budget at home but we do when we are on the road. We allow for enough budget to have fun, but there are so many cool things to do, we have to limit ourselves. Keep on enjoying the life!!

Sounds like thousands trails helped the budget a lot. Need to do another video on that. Thanks - Budget is not a fun topic but necessary for most.

We have plans to use our TT membership often this year while in the northwest. Thinking we may be able to stay on budget this year. We can only hope. Thanks for watching. 😊

Our Enterainment budget is higher then most people's, I think. Being in our 1st year and being in the Tampa Bay area this past winter, trips to the Everglades, deep sea fishing and I don't even want to tell you what 4 days in Key West cost. We have offset this expense by staying a one RV Resort for 6 months, and picking up a small part time job. By staying at one place we have saved on..... a monthly rate on our site, (actually a 6 month rate) and RV fuel costs. The small job (18 hours) (at a micro brewery, 🙂) a week, helps offset some of the ever increasing costs. What works for us is finding a place that we can stay at for a longer period of time and that it also has places of interest to explore. So it may not be to Expensive to Full Time, but its getting more and more expensive.

You guys are doing a great job keeping your costs down. We can only imagine how much you spent while in Key West. Drinks alone!🤪 Small job at a micro brewery doesn't sound like work at all. That would be something we'd be interested in doing. Keep on keeping on and see you guys this winter. 😊

Very reasonable. Your home base and TT stays made the most savings. Consider a Sam"s Club CC for gas expenses as it provides 5% back on fuel and it is almost emmediate (credited each month to use as cash at Sam's). You will have lots of opportunity for CoE stays on your travel to AK. We love them. Especially after you qualify for NP Senior Pass.

Buy Crown Royal by the case. Bring a flask when you go out for dinner only.

We thought about full time after I retire in Dec, but came to the conclusion that we can live very comfortably near the Gulf Coast for close to the same $$$.

It's definitely not a let's save money kind of lifestyle for sure. We enjoy traveling and seeing different parts of the country but also enjoy the Gulf Coast. Sounds like you guys made a great decision for your wants and needs. Enjoy your home near the Gulf. 😊

I think our food and entertainment budget would be half that or more. And resorts would be last resort for us. Boondocking is our preference.
