I made that trip last months. 2 tires shredded. The roads are horrible from LA to TX. Baton Rouge and Shreveport have the worst roads in America...and Jackson, Ms .

Man that was a rollercoaster of an episode. As skipper of the vessel I feel you should delegate navigation duties to Princess. I fully expect Team Jupiter to still take wrong turns, but then the captain has someone else to blame! Hopefully you'll sail into some calm waters next week.

Wow, in those tight turn I would be sweating it also, so you don't have an RV GPS I have a 785 RV GPS which helps you to avoid those low bridges.

That's a large trailer for those endpoints. Your video went about as I'd expect for that trip with that rig, maybe better. I find I'd rather pull off at a truck stop and wait out an urban rush hour if possible. You don't lose much time and you feel a whole lot better. Use apps that give traffic conditions to anticipate, so you can pull off, if you like.

Hello get some battery operated lights the big round one. Get enough to put all the way down a driveway for parking. Light it up like an airport run way. You will be able to see all the way back without a problem.

I love your series. We all have those days from time to time. I have traveled I-10 before years ago and it was bumpy as could be back then. Downdraw of a concrete roadway. Something to remember if you happen to get stuck under a bridge. Before you call a wrecker, try letting air out of your tires. If you are just a little suck it could save you some money. Hopefully your trip will only improve.

You are getting to see so many great places in the US. And no need to pay for hotels. A minor ding is nothing. Hardly more than a scratch. Maybe time though to find a really nice place, stay a while longer, and cut back on the RV road time? I would have bought a bit smaller RV, but then I am not great at reversing.

I agree with something smaller. Much smaller in fact. I think I like the motor home style better and you can tow a small car behind it but they depreciate in value faster because it's got an engine and the more miles you put on it, the least valuable it becomes. It's a toss up but something smaller for sure. Go big or go home is the American dream though.

You need to purchase an app for trucks . Your rig is to be for Google. That's designed for cars.

Ya it is RV life app we navigate with. It does account for height and weights but we don't always trust it. It has been wrong a few times.

The i10 is one of the worst quality roads in the US. When we spent nearly two years traveling around North America in our RV, there were certain States that just had horrible quality highways and we learned to avoid them and even swing around through other states to get free of them. It's fascinating how an interstate can totally change as you transit from one state to the next. The i5 can be like that too. The worst roads we came across were in Illinois and Wisconsin, expansion joints every few meters and they loosened nuts, bolts and screws on our RV and led to multiple squeeks and rattles that took weeks to sort out. A real shocker was driving at night from Arizona to NM. The roads in AZ were really nice with cats eyes leading the way, but the minute we crossed into NM it was like we hit a black hole. Not a cat's eye to be seen. Was startling and I almost thought we'd left the highway accidentally. Texas roads can be good, but the traffic jams in Dallas and Houston are as bad as the ones in LA. Driving a 5th wheel through there will certainly be an adventure. And I hate States that don't post bridge heights. So many times the GPS sent us under some overpass that nearly took the top off the RV. I used to carry a pole around to test the heights to make sure I could make it with our vent covers sticking up. Manually walking the place first, and holding up traffic was embarrassing, but better than the alternative of getting stuck.
