Watching this from Devon, England. Me and my husband are just starting out on our boating journey. Going to be buying a motor cruiser at some stage in the not too distant future. We’ve been to see our local sea school who are wonderful and have put together a programme of courses which will include Yachtmaster/Coastal theory. We’ve just done the one day SRC/VHF course which was examined in house which we both passed. I was just browsing KZfaq searching peoples experience of RYA courses in general when I came upon this one. I am so sorry that you were failed. I feel strongly that you were failed by the examiner actually. This was two years ago now that this happened to you, but if it had been me, i would definately have made some sort of complaint about this particular examiner. The RYA ought to know about him failing you, his unprofessionalism and what I would describe as his incompetence xx

Why are you guys buying those junky or expensive sailrites? The whole thing looks like a classic singer 15 or the post war japnese clones....you can get a lot of them for 50 bucks or less

Next time use the dual rears on the slope. Back up to the bump and spin the rears to break up the compact soil, save tour back a bit.

Jamie in your travels up the west coast put the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum on your itenerary. You have to see the Spruce Goose. Be safe in your travels.

Woo hoo. 1st again. Question; why didn't you replace your rigging with Dyneema rigging? You should get a beater car to travel that 4 hour commute so you don't have to worry about insurance covering your expensive truck in case something happens to it driving in Mexico. Maybe a 1995 Toyota pick up or something like that. How come you switched from flying corporate jets back to 747's?

My uncle and cousins are Nicaraguan. Shame that you have to deal with pirates. My grandfather sailed around the world and was in the navy. Someone told me that he used to carry a 9mm automatic machine gun similar to the ones they use on US Navy ships today. The idea being that you could "spray" over the side of the boat and clear hallways ect. I was wondering if you had anything like that or would you even be allowed to tell me if you did. I know pirates are no joke.

I wish I had watch this 3 days ago: Lock 1 was a breeze until lock 2. I almost seriously damaged the boat because I didn't know how / where to tie the boat. This was largely my fault for inadequate research, but also the lock master's who never tried to guide me after I told me I had never done this before. He let me figure out the hard way. Very unprofesionel, and very dangerous for us and the boat.

Take picture of the buss bar & use the Google picture search to see if anyone stocks it. It's the square camera next to the microphone in the search bar

Buss Bar, you may consider a copper one! Great to see you back on Jupiter. Enjoy
@karenwilliams402721 күн бұрын
It’s a bus bar you will probably have to get it from the company that makes the panel. To help get a better electrical connection I would recommend putting some dielectric grease on the bus bar stakes.

Man, it was soo good to see Jupiter again! It sounds like your planning on spending about a year and a half in the South Pacific when you said that your going to have Tim's boys do the repaint in two years. I guess that means that you will be sailing again by September. I hope that you end up going to every island nation along the way to the Philippians when you cross the Pacific Ocean. I've got to get a Mumby Cyber 48. I think about it every day!
