I'm sorry but watched this multiple times and I have to vote that Ben was not being an aware driver. He pulled out in front of the car in the left lane then moved back after the car was already in the right lane. Ben should have at least seen that the car was already in the right lane and waited for him to pass before moving over. But love you guys and your channel (writing as I'm lounging in my Experience over Things shirt). 😊

since it's illegal to pass on the right, the car behind him shouldn't have been moving to the right lane to pass ... so attempting to follow the law and move out of the passing lane would not fall into the category of cutting the car off.

Ben could see that car was flying and pulled over in front of him! Since he promptly lane changed back, he clearly could have just slowed for a bit. He did wrong. Then he cut off the same car by changing back. That driving gives RVers a bad name. Sometimes, most of the time, slowing down for a mile, or five, eliminates such situations. That said, things happen and glad ALL came out safe.
@Henle15
@Henle15 Ай бұрын
Looks like he probably wasn’t watching that lane of traffic very far back and likely didn’t realize that car was going so fast and he should have just slowed and let that car pass and then go around the slow car. Then he again either didn’t see the car get over or intentionally cut him off. Both times looks like he wasn’t judging traffic well behind him. But the other driver was also driving like a douche bag too. Glad no one got hit. Would be interested in him giving an explanation and seeing the whole video without editing.
@GratefulGlamper
@GratefulGlamper Ай бұрын
The speeding car did not wait for Ben to move back over from the passing lane but rather quickly moved over to the right lane in an attempt to pass on the right vs waiting for Ben to complete the lane change. The driver was impatient and then intentionally pulled back in front of Ben and slammed on his brakes - twice. You’re corrected the whole unedited scenario shows the whole incident which shows Ben was driving safely.

@@GratefulGlamper What I do is not try to have to switch lanes and try to go as slow as the person in front of me, but I do make one exception - fool behind me barreling down on me, I will either exit or switch lanes really quickly and slow down if I think I can slow down and not have the fool slam me from behind or some other person slam me. I survived 2 drunk drivers but I wasn't driving when we were brake checked and the cop hated the car we were in. The other person had this business suit and was in front, so won! It was evil! However, the fool I was with, was technically driving a little too close as well! So, they are both guilty in my books but for different reasons.
@bigrollinghome2091
@bigrollinghome2091 Ай бұрын
if the speeding car hadn't done it to Ben, they would have done it to the white car ahead of him - the car was OBVIOUSLY coming at an excessive rate of speed then attempted to illegally pass on the right side, then instead of moving back to the left lane to pass, they take the shoulder and then perform a break check ... and you want to say it was all Ben's fault ... so either you are really unknowledgeable about the law or you are just trying to be a mean troll

Careful in Texas, you could get shot for that. When you are driving together, might I suggest that whoever is driving the RV signal for the lane change, then whoever is driving the car make the change when safe. Now with the lane blocked, the RV can come over without worry - working as a team. It also ensures that the following vehicle is never lost in traffic. Ben knows better and should have seen him coming hot like that, and unless it was safe for you to make the lane change when he signaled, then it sure the heck was not safe for him. Someone driving that hot is going to rage, let him rage on the white car that Ben was yelling at to move in the hammer lane so he could get around as well... Love you guys and that every day is a new lesson. Hat in hand, no one was right in that situation.

You can use the old school method, that truckers use. The next time you visit a truck stop, pick up a "Thumper". It's a miniature base ball bat. You strike the tires, and note the sound that it makes. You should hear the same sound from all the tires as you go around your "RV". Its the same principle as using a tuning fork. This will tell you very quickly if you have a tire pressure problem.

Does your RV have side camera’s? He should have waited to go into the left lane with the car closing in at a much higher speed…. & also seen the car behind changed to the right lane and was passing when he moved to the right. I gotta say it’s so easy to do, I am sure every one of us have changed lanes with a car we didn’t see next to us…. Unfortunately so many drivers are oblivious to the blind spots we have & that it’s not something we do on purpose. I always keep my rear view camera on to help see what’s behind me. I do agree that we aren’t suppose to pass on the right however +1 for an agitated driver, then I am sure that drive thought the RV was going to stay in the left lane. Glad everyone is OK…. Agree a brake check is never a good idea!!

Breathe Girl! You don't have to be "Full Time" to have a successful KZfaq channel regarding RVing...part time/weekend warriors/hybrids...whatever you want to call it nowadays can be just as memorable. From the time I was born until I flew the nest, we camped, when we could...Mother's Day weekend...why? Mom Loved to Camp, Memorial Day Weekend because we got out of school and booked it to an event and hour or so away...and it was close enough to get the 3 of us kids back to be in the Memorial Day Parades early Monday morning...etc...It isn't about how much you can get out, it's about just getting out and documenting your lives. Your kids are growing up fast and pretty soon...they too will be "old, married and with their own kids"...okay maybe that's a few years down the road yet, but the point is hopefully they too will want to continue to camp and explore. I'm now 56, and we still love to camp and yes, Mom at 87 insists on us getting away, even though our schedule only allows "weird days" she still loves to camp and have experiences.

The two things that still cause me the biggest pucker factor are: 1) people racing me at on ramps to try to get in front of me when I'm in the right lane, and they are getting on the highway, and 2) Big Rigs intentionally crowding me in narrow stretches of road or on bridges.

I have just the opposite issue with my Coach Link, it never comes on, I am not sure if it is a range issue or what. The black thing that is attached to your actuator is, I think a magnetic sensor. When the brakes are engaged there is something inside that engages that magnetic sensor. I think the sensor is bad like maybe it the spring is bad .and gravity is engaging it. (Think about the magnetic sensor that operates your entrance steps) I think that is why when you turn it down it opens, just a theory, can you remove it? We can chat more in Discord or you can call me. Something I have learned to do when having a lead and chase vehicle, is that then the lead vehicle turns their turn signal on the chase vehicle moves into the lane first to provide a clear lane for the lead vehicle to move into. Bummer on the softball experience, I had similar issues with my daughter and some of her slow pitch and soccer experiences when she was on a travel team. It turns out to all be part of the learning and maturing process. Howdy to Dakota from your friend in the Buckeye State and Trinity you are growing up way too fast!! Love all you guys!!
