So, what RPM did the RV-12 end up with in Climb and Cruise? We're seeing 5050rpm in WOT climb and 5400-5300rpm WOT cruise with our eProp/Highlander project. We think we should reduce the pitch more to improve our climb. Thoughts? What WOT Climb and Cruise should we be aiming for?

5400 rpm. You will definitely see a big improvement in climb if you get to 5500 RPM on climb out.

I'm starting to lean toward making the very same change (on my identical plane). I want to calculate the change in aircraft CG (W&B), but I'm having a hard time finding the weight of the stock Sensenich prop and hub. Did you measure the old one after taking it off?

No we didn’t. But the best way to do a new W+B is with the 3 scales since you also need to know the moment arm of everything. Then obviously you will get the new weight as well which is less critical than the new CG.

@@LarrySMednick I would do just that afterward, but before i bite the bullet I want to estimate the effect first. The arm I can get close enough for an estimate. Just need to determine the change in prop/hub mass. Thanks.

@@youngskyculler Blade 1: 1123 , Blade 2: 1111 , Hub: 2312 , Spinner Assembly: 850 , Bolts+screws: 525 , Pitot tube: 40. All values in grams. Total 5961gr ~ 13,14lbs

My empty weight was 784,7, arm 82,13. New weight 776,8, arm 82,9. With full fuel and full bagage 50lbs the pilot+pax weight needs to be at least 340lbs

Great! What is the length of the 'spacer' for this RV-12 spinner?

Not sure if I am answering your question, but the spinner plate is -15mm spinner plate. But if you have an RV 12 the RV 12 specific hub and spinner are all you need to ask for. If you would like to order one please don’t hesitate to call. 813-810-9262
