RWars Series 2 Heat I Part 3

14 жыл бұрынThe second war smashed onto our screens bigger and better than before! The introduction of the new house robot Sir Killalot brought shock and awe to the wars. New presenter Craig Charles presents, Johnathon Pearce commentates and Philippa Forrester interviews the teams. The six combatants are King Buxton, All-Torque, Robo Doc, Prometheus, Rottweiler and Cruella.
LET THE SECOND WARS BEGIN!

I'm glad they replaced the PPZ with the CPZ - the house robots were really unrestrained!

Pretty good fight between King Buxton and Robo Doc. And at this stage a good fight is a rare event to be relished. You know, it only just occurred to me how much I miss Craig saying something like "Prometheus' fiery gift is extinguished!" after every knockout battle. Just calling the teams up to the platform doesn't really express the excitement. I get the feeling he was still getting settled into the host role at this stage and it wasn't until the 3rd Wars that he was really getting into it.

Prometheus was not the greek god of fire! 1) He was a Titan, not an olympian or "god". 2) He gave man fire, but he wasn't a deity of fire.

No. "Fire" was not a single domain under the Olympians, it was divided between Hephaestus (wild fire, or fire in industrial uses) and Hestia, who was goddess of the hearth, and fire for domestic uses.

King Buxton had some pretty good power for its size, solid design as well.

Incredible isn't it? These teams had awesome matches and awesome chemistry as a tag team. I only wish they'd have shown more of this match; the roboteers looked to have enjoyed the whole 5 minute clash!

i loved the tourque series. if they had a vericle cutting disc the size of pussycats or a burst motion spike, they could have done well in this wars.

@zoziosawakening and one of the longest too. grudges like Razer and Tornado lasted 1 or 2 years, this was between 1998 and 2001. Firestorm and Panic Attack is the only one I can think of at the moment that was longer.

Who'd have thought at the time that Robo Doc vs King Buxton would be the first stage in one of Robot Wars' greatest rivalries?

Too bad for Robo Doc. Ultimately outmatched by King Buxton, but got their revenge in series 3.

Not quite, it was in S4 and Extreme 1, and I think they might have fought again later.

Really we didnt need that touch from Killalot at final... eh its so annoying. Two great robots in final heat anyway

Rottweiler was tacky, that kid annoyed me. I would've put King Buxton against All Torque in the semis from my point of view, Robo Doc was underrated!

I think RoboDoc was very unlucky to be in this heat. In almost any others especially the previous heat, it could have really shone.
