The Pawn Virus that Cinder put in Beacon was an entry way for Wattz to infiltrate himself and gather information for Cinder to do her thing, and ultimately shut down connections at the beginning of the Battle of Beacon.

Something I just realised was that someone was missing from this episode; someone who had been in the first episode of Volumes 1-3; the Shopkeep.

Also: Here's how I think fights are gonna go in the end. Ruby fights Tyrian. Weiss fights Wattz. Blake fights Hazel. Yang fights Cinder, but I honestly think that Cinder is going to betray Salem, or vice versa. I have a theory that the Maidebs are to be gathered up for Salem so that Salem will individually kill them and take their power, similar to how Cinder took the Fall Maiden's powers. Salem tasked Tyrian to hunt down the Spring Maiden, but not kill, and she already has the Fall Maiden in her grasp. Once all Maidens are captured, Cinder soon realizes that Salem is plotting to kill Cinder to take her power, and she, as well as Merc and Emerald revolt and flee from Salem. But it's just a theory.

My crack theory is that Random Farm Boy is protecting the spring maiden. At the end of his scene, he looks to the distance at a house.

I love how Salem commands such authority i knew she would but the amount took me by suprise also i was genuinely suprised by Salem's fairness she knew Cinder lost to a first year student but also took notice to the fact that the first year was a Silver eyed warrior she criticized her of her current state making her a potential weak link but also went out of her way to Defend her against Watts saying she completed her objective taking down Beacon and becoming the new Fall Maiden

Yeah you can even hear Pyrrha's theme played when Jaune mentioned his friend.

The SDC PROBABLY doesn't have an actual monopoly on the world supply of Dust, but it is the LARGEST supplier. So when RNJR buys Dust ammo from whoever and wherever, odds are good the ammo was original made by the SDC. But I doubt the SDC actual owns and operates a distribution center in the middle of nowhere. RNJR probably got replacement ammo from a second hand dealer or wandering merchant or something.

well I love this episode of your rants better than any other previously. I do like the theory that you had with ozpin, and I do hope that it is true because that would and a whole new story to this series that could be a short 3 to 5 episode series telling the story of ozpin. One note about Nora's wireframe error, they already fixed it on the rooster teeth website. So it seems like if there are any minor mistakes like that they will fix them before the KZfaq release.

theory ive had for a while is that Salem and the Grimm mostly exist to keep humanity in check, like they're white blood cells to humanity's negativity. And at one point she could have been killed and the grimm wiped out but maybe Ozpin at the time probaby believed that without grimm, humanity would no longer have a common enemy and were allowed to live. also a scary thought i had about the geist in particular is i wonder if one could possess the body of a dead person... that could lead to some terrifying scenes.

When Team TWBY was trying to stop the train, Weiss gives Blake a magazine of dust ammo for her weapon. She could have easily done this sometime during Volume 3 for the rest of her friends before she gets shipped off to Atlas.

Ren also loses the sleeves and now has holsters on his thighs for his machine pistols instead of concealing them up his sleeves.

Love your theories Swarley, always look forward to your reviews! I actually have 3 theories of my own! Do you believe at the end of this season we will see Salem turn Ruby dark, Weiss,Yang,and Blake to meet up again, and for a possible reveal that Salem is Summer. Also while I love your theory about the farm boy/girl I actually believe that the scene with the farm boy could be a bit misleading and that it actually takes place in the past and may give us a tad more information as too exactly what fate awaits these maidens when they are caught. Also, with your crazy theory, I like to suggest it may be the opposite. Salem used to be in the same as Ozpin, Glenda and the other. Maybe she though Ozpin way was to kid friendly, or maybe the power corrupted her, something like that. also Ruby and Nora's combo move, I like to call it, Thunder Rose.

You mention the scroll being a different color, but on rewatching Volume 3 ep 3, both Qrow and Ironwood's scrolls are also black color when shown.

So there's a little more I'd like to add about Tyrian. So far the only bit of his abilities we get to see are how he positions himself and a few of his acrobatic techniques against Ruby in the opening as well as his weapons. But there are two vibes that I get out of him: Muay Thai and Dhalsim. Okay to be fair, I still don't know enough about Muay Thai but from the few vids I've seen on it, there appears to be a lot of joint strikes (elbow and knee), and Tyrian appears to keep his joints angled habitually. So perhaps his fighting style may incorporate some of that, idk--don't take my word for it here. In any case, he does look like a flexible guy, and every time I see him palm his hands together, I feel like he's going to stretch them out stretch like a move I remember seeing from Dhalsim in an arcade (idk much about Street Fighter but I did play often as him in arcades when I was little). And if Semblances reflect personality, being able to stretch could reflect Tyrian as the twisted psychopath he seems to be. Yeah, Tyrian's already so intriguing and we've barely seen him! And yet, since the opening only features him fighting Ruby, I feel like out of the council, he will be the one taking Team RNJR on the most. So now as I type I'm feeling some predictions. Team RNJR may not make it to Mistral until Volume 5. If Anemia isn't the last of the villages they're checking, they might visit more along the way, and along the way Tyrian may confront them several times, making him one of the more prominent villains for this volume, as implied by the opening. But hopefully he does die by the end (though it is a possibility); if he does, there's only one character I wouldn't mind doing the killing--you already know who. Now the only doubt I'd have of Team RNJR reaching Mistral by Vol 5 is that it may mean that RWBY still isn't regrouped by then (not that I'd complain, honestly--I want more RNJR myself). And if Watts has got business in Mistral, he may replace Tyrian as Team RNJR's lead enemy for Volume 5. But if Tyrian does survive Volume 4, maybe in 5 he will go and hunt for Spring. (After all, "Spring can wait.") But I'm going way too ahead of myself. Tomorrow's episode may rek all these ideas I have and it's already on its way (but I still have to wait myself!)

Ah! I have a crack pot tin foil idea! What if those pools aren't how the Grimm are born, but reborn. Evidence or things that need to be true for this to work: 1) In vol 3 Qrow told Ironwood "I have seen the things she made" 2) All (95% sure) of the Grimm have the weird eye symbol from her cape on them. 3) The Grimmscape is in another dimension. 4) Grimm dissolve/evaporate when they die in the human dimension 5) Weirdest part bear with me - Grimm don't have souls, so when they die Grimms entire body goes to the "other side" 6) The first thing we have seen in vol 4 is the character short, when Ruby committed Beowulf massacre 7) the character short is canon, like the vol 1 trailers. 8) The next thing we see in vol 4 are lots of Beowulfs coming out of these pools. Qrow's quote and symbol things suggests something more personal between Salem and the Grimm them. As in the literally puts a part of herself into the Grimm she creates and perhaps she constructs a model and the replicate or something. I would then assume she might think of them as children, what is the biggest problem parents have: kids mights die before parents. Perhaps Salem has created, or taken advantage of this other realm so that way her "kids" never really die. Idk, could use some help with this idea guys. Btw, how do you pluralize Beowulf? lol

Did anyone notice that Emerald was missing her weapons in the meeting with Salem? I'm guessing that Mercury was similarly disarmed; it seems Cinder's lackeys are not trusted very much.

You know me--mouthful to say about Mulan Man. I still prefer his old outfit slightly more because it's more reserved, which befits Ren. More importantly, I liked that he could store his weapons in his sleeves back then as opposed tying them on his pants. But it's fine, I do still dig his new look--it's got more of a warrior appeal to it. And indeed, Ren does look like he's become a more solid fighter. Make no mistake--not once have I ever doubted Ren's skills, but he did have a low stamina weakness (that RT apparently liked to remind us). But here, not only is he lasting longer, he hasn't taken a single hit (then again, Jaune was the only that did get hit at all). Moreover, even though Jaune was the 1st to figure out the Geist's weakness, it was Ren who first exposed it, just like he did against the Deathstalker in Volume 1 (*never forget!!!*) But speaking of Jaune and leadership, I'm still hoping that Team RNJR's helm gradually tilts to Ren. Now I do say it with a bias, but hey (1) "ranger" is a shade of green and (2) even if Ren's not *the* strategist, he's still a rational guy, and he still strikes me as the most mature of the team. Besides, we all know how natural Jaune and Ruby are as leaders, but hey, for once try to imagine Ren at the helm and calling the shots--who's to say he won't lead any less effectively than the "obvious" two? Besides, if Volume 4 will indeed give Ren and Nora more development (though I'd emphasize Ren more as always), I see at least some chance of my wish being granted. But again, I'm biased. Btw, you think Anemia (I think that's it) is the village Ren and Nora wanted to sheriff back in Volume 2?

I had a feeling you were leading up to a that theory about Ozpin though it's my 1st time hearing it. But anyways, about the villains. So far, Tyrian is already the most intriguing of them all. If he's a martial artist and a psycho, he'd be a good match for both Ren and Nora. However, if Dr. Watts can indeed wield electricity as his name implies, I could see a fight between him and Nora. And then there's Hazel--very unremarkable by appearance if you ask me, though I do like quiet and personalities. To an extent, I could even say he's the Ren of the group, though necessarily in ability. The reaction KZfaqr MurderOfBirds once pointed out on Twitter that Salem's council members Watts, Tyrien, Cinder, and Hazel could form the acronym WTCH, a possible unspoken team name RT came up with, which is indeed interesting! Also speaking of teams, I can definitely already see a possible 4 on 4 between them and Team RWBY as follows: - Ruby vs Cinder (but of course) - Weiss vs Watts (oh their exchange could be fun!) - Blake vs Hazel (quiet dude contacting the White Fang go figure) - Yang vs Tyrian (I do hope Yang gets stronger 1 way or another, but I'd already root for Tyrian lol!) And now about Salem. For months now, I've joked about her being a "spider empress" for her hair so I've drawn a picture of her trapping Ozpin in a web (you may seen me share it on Twitter). But recently, a friend of mine told me that her ring vaguely resembles a spider so if that implies what I think it does--holy shit! And while I'm on Salem, at the very beginning in her world, the Grimm pools appear to form some kind of pattern--either the cracks on the moon or rose petals (or both if they're at all related in any way). Honestly, despite the scars, I actually find Cinder more beautiful. Her eye is prettier, she looks fine with a shorter hair and that dress, and again--I really don't think her facial scar really ruins that (though it does help that her bangs and eyepatch cover most of it).

This episode shows that the stories of the Maidens and the silver eyed warriors may not be as simple as told. The Maidens were said to be simple girls granted power by a wizard. They were a publicly know myth, and previously were known to be real. The silver eyed warriors seemed to have been known by few, and one of their powers not even known by their enemy's. Why would the Maidens, who are made to help people, be weak against anti grim warriors. My current theory is both groups are some form of living weapon, with the silver eyed warriors made to defeat the Maidens if they go bad or even the Maidens original maker.

What about this for a theory though feel free to point out flaws with this. How would you feel if like ruby had DID (Dissociative identity disorder) becuase 1. Maybe Summer thought bring your daughter to work would be nice and ruby got in the cross fire and saw her mom get killed protecting her. Also altering her Ruby's memory making her not remember the event clearly and making it so that whenever ruby saw someone close to her being killed it triggers her other personality who maybe has more murderus and deadly intensions. If the rest of team JNPR dies then maybe it would cause her to become more unstable, losing control more easily, submitting herself to her other personality who has a darker view on the world and cope with this stuff better.Though the chances of this being true is close to none. It's just that it could be that after ruby got back home and regained controle/ consciousness the people with summer and ruby at the time said to Ruby's dad that summer was gone (explaining part 2 of red like roses) I don't know. Like I said this is only a theory (though the likeliness of this being true is close to none)

i have a quick question, what do you think about Whitley? Because OMG the amount of hate he getting is really irritating me. Usually, if a character seems a bit morally ambiguous I usually give them the benefit of the doubt unless they do something obviously negative. However in like the 5 lines he speaks, he does move and sound like someone who is smug. I understand why some people dislike him based on first impressions, but calling him a prick and a little shit seems a bit too much. I actually kinda like Whitley right now because I feel like he's genuinely trying to comfort Weiss but he comes off as smug because you know... living with Papa. I get the feeling that what Winter is to Weiss is the same for Weiss is to Whitley. I think one reason why he dislikes Winter is because she rebelled (by going to the military...that's a red flag if I ever saw one) and kind of considers her traitor, but then he says he respects her resolve. Also we went through this exact same thing with Winter last volume, like wtf people. I also feel like at the very least there is this weird sibling comradery, cause of the messed up family. Sorry for the rant, I just needed to get this off my chest

I'm a little pissed off at Tyrian, because I have a RWBY OC with the same name... And cause she's part of a team I kinda need the T (Does anyone know of any purple flowers or gems starting with T that could work as a name?). Otherwise, he's cool. He reminds me more of Kimblee than Ling. Like, Kimblee mixed with Junkrat. I love the redesigns, Ren's hair is amazing (It's longer than mine has ever been... or ever will be cause it does not work long), and his whole outfit is awesome, I love Nora's outfit and I'm gonna cosplay that later, Jaune's is interesting. I like the references to Pyrrah's outfit and that hoodie is amazing. Out of the RWBY redesigns, I like Ruby's a lot, Blake's is pretty cool, I like Yang's a lot, but Weiss is the only one whose original design I prefer, which is strange because I am not someone who wears white a lot. It's gonna be interesting. I'm curious to see how they handle Yang's PTSD after what happened last volume, I'm curious to see how Weiss and her father play out, I'm curious about whatever Blake is doing. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's episode. AND YES, Nora's wireframe was acting buggy. I thought I was the only one who noticed.

I'm still skeptical about the Spring maiden theory but I won't argue since you may have already seen it coming. (And I won't lie, I'm not exactly the biggest fan of this whole gender flip-flop whatchamacalit.) I'd have thought he was a decendent of the wizard (if not THE wizard), who actually owned the resulting farm but I don't have much to add about this kid as of yet.

Also I gotta say Team RWBY vs Cinders Faction I would want but Team RWBY VS Salem's Lieutenants I NEED they have a sense of similarly to Team RWBY that I love. Watts Probably a Fighter skilled in using Dust or maybe tech that uses Dust similar to Weiss. Tyrion is fast and agile we kinda saw that in the intro using Blades a good opposition to Blake. Hazel is a Tank Taking a hit and throwing one probably twice as hard just like Yang (let's be honest she's gonna bounce back and kick some Ass) and finally Salem being a Maiden even in her weakened state might be able to take Team RWBY all except Ruby Rose the silver eyed warrior who is most likely (especially post time skip) the strongest over all of the Team and Volumes 2 and 3 there intros had the two fighting.
