Things I wanna mention: 1. The town name (Shion I think) has some meaning behind it. In Japan, there is a flower with the same name and in the study of flowers (forgot the name), the name means "I won't forget you," really tying in to the theme of this chapter as well as its title. This also reminds me of the character Xion from the Kingdom Hearts series. 2. For a long time, I don't know why, I thought that Geoff Ramsey from Achievement Hunter and the voice of Grif would be the voice actor for Jacques. I think it was the moustache and my belief that he cared for his daughter (much like Geoff). But Beerus does an amazing job nonetheless. 3. These dreams that Ruby is having most likely has something to do with her silver eyes. My guess is that Ruby has made a 'connection' to Pyrrha in some way, mainly because of the fact that she hears lines from Pyrrha that Ruby was never there to hear from. 4. What really makes that final scene even sadder is that it makes me wonder how long had Jaune been actually listening to this tape before Ruby arrived.

I also want to mention all the cut downed trees in Jaune's training clearing which, along with the wind force from his strikes, seem to imply that he had cut them down himself. In one of the Weiss POV shots of Whitlee, the one where he's centered over the vanishing point, the shot also is at a dutch angle, probably to further increase the unease. Also, probably due to budget reasons most of the Schnee mansion shots look to be paintings Weiss is composited upon (e.g. the shot of the roof looks to be perspectively impossible). In a way it does add to the sense of detachment and loneliness where her home is a painting of a perfect, impressive, and clean space ... that she barely interacts with.

Swarley I loved this episode today. Nice reference to The Great Gatsby for the schnee family's color scheme, and hope to see some good stuff from episode 3.

I really like Ironwood and his Redesign and I was suprised at how open Father Schnee was with his selfishness and how he uses Weiss as propaganda also The Great Gatsby is Grade 11 english

You almost broke at the Pyrrha scene! So close!

In regards to the Dust embargo, there's another angle that one has to look at. Namely how the other Kingdoms react to this embargo. It's been shown that the Schnee Dust Company exports Dust all over Remnant and probably has close to a monopoly on the market. Now all the countries no longer have that supply and probably have to scramble around to ensure that stocks don't run low. The last the other Kingdoms saw of the situation were Atlas robots attacking Vale and then communications went down. And now Atlas, THE big exporter of Dust isn't selling any to anyone and could be stockpiling the stuff. Combined with the global communication breakdown along with Ironwood's forces probably being on high alert from recent event, people might start wondering if Atlas is preparing to invade one of the other Kingdoms.

Im surprised you didnt talk about about this and no one else to seems to notice but I found that line Ironwood used to excuse himself "until we meet again" to be quite interesting as thats also the words that Winter uses to excuse herself showing how much of an influence Ironwood has been to Winter.

Hmm your theory on Whitley being a evil... I like it and it makes some sense. I'm still holding onto hope that he's still good underneath. Also probably one of my favorite little moments in this episode is Ruby with the fireflys.

going to what you said for episode 3. You caught ptsd for yang. But ruby failed to save a friend, and now is the leader of a team which has a member who was the best friend and love interest. This is actually another form of ptsd, which anyone but a full huntsman from beacon would most probably have given the attack on beacon. She's reliving the last moments, and because of her power, she couldn't remember everything. Now, she's starting to remember, possibly getting closer to finding what she did, or what her power is.

i have to agree with Mr. Shcnee if general ironwood is cutting off dust supplies to other kingdoms than that mean there losing major supplies of ammunition and power

I found something kind of curious, just a bit, Looking at all the pictures in the shot, Weiss' Father is tthe only one who doesn't have White Hair out of the family, all of his pictures show him to have Black Hair. Anyone think that Papa Schnee wasn't actually a Schnee?

Re: The recording. It's both cute, and possibly more sad that Pyrrha in the recording acts like she always did for most of Vol 1+2: tiptoeing around her feelings instead of being direct. It was likely recorded when Jaune was still chasing after Weiss. It's sadder not only because we get to see Jaune possibly react to the signs of her feelings he couldn't notice before, but also because her choice of words to get around saying what she feels is drives the loss in harder: "I'm Just Happy to be a part of your life. I will always be here for you Jaune..." Also, Pyrrha looked to be animated in Poser, possibly for budget/time reasons, or possibly to ensure that she looks like how we remember her. RoosterTeeth have gone long ways in the past to do the same in RvB, e.g. with Delta.

It was a sad a touching scene...which also means it was well done. Interesting theory concerning Whitley.

Damn you for making a theory that actually makes me have a potential legitimate reason to hate Whitley, I don't want to hate him though T-T. Also can we all appreciate how Ironwood is such a nice guy to Weiss and next chapter, well you know who gets a benefit. Anyways can't wait for the next review... I'm assuming you have complaints with the fight, but i actually have less complaints the more I watched the fight.

huh, first episode was all Ruby this was mostly Weiss, and third was mostly Blake, so the next episode might be mostly about Yang, RWBY

I find it ironic that pyrrha said that she's happy to be part of his life and that she'll always be there for him only to literally push him away to get herself killed and make him suffer. way to go pyrrha 👍👍👍

you know i wanted to believe that maybe someone from The Schnne family was working with CINDER OR SALEM, maybe an uncle but Whitley the little brother who maybe is all "homeboy" and will most likely be the future CEO of the company and papa schnne fav son; how would he even had contact with Cinder it makes sense what your saying. also i freaked out the moment you put the scene of clever little friend it makes sense i just dont see it or want to belive it.

how do we know that whitley can't fight or that he can't use a semblance
