Seems like a lot of AMD guys around, so I did something for you today. The results where neither good enough nor bad enough for me to make a firm recommendation either for or against this card, it really comes down to your market and price. I was able to get a very good idea of where the card sits in 2024 though with modern top end and previous generation games. The TL:DR:
Cyberpunk: Impressive
Star Wars Jedi Surviver: Borderline unplayable
Starfield: Playable If you are not too picky
Pre 2020 Games: The recommended use for this card
Fortnite: Playable and competitive, some quality of life issues
Quick Links:
Cyberpunk 2077: • RX 580, Is it still th...
Star Wars Jedi Survivor: • RX 580, Is it still th...
Starfield: • RX 580, Is it still th...
Titanfall II: • RX 580, Is it still th...
Fortnite: • RX 580, Is it still th...
Conclusion: • RX 580, Is it still th...
Conclusion: Viable for light gaming at the right price
I tested this in what most non techies would consider high end, those of us in the know would consider this hardware borderline ewaste in 2024, but good enough to get a good idea of what real world use will probably look like in normal users builds

If you have a second and see this, let me know if you would prefer these longer videos but with the links so you can skip around. The other option is shorter videos, but for this kind of thing I dont think I can condense the amount of information I am trying to convey in something short... even at three minutes per game if I tried to condense the commentary, the videos would still end up like 20+ minutes long

I dont like to compare to other chanels but others make the same tests than you but they just tell you about the results and you put the full test, i can't decide wich i prefer because its entertaining to watch all the diferent games with the configs tweked, but some other times i would like to see a more contained video with quick info. I see alot of people be interested in this kind of graphic cards just to play fornite, warzone, apex or even minecraft and they always ask for model from ali express so this videos have a lot of valeu to them.

@@elcancerv7804 I will say, if you look thru my channel I have literally like a thousand of those, and all they are is, I open the video with "this is Cyberpunk running on an i9 9820x with 32gigs of ram and an 8Gig AMD Radeon RX 580" I show the settings, then like 7 minutes of game play with afterburner running. The problem us, they get literally no views, most of the views you see on all but a tiny amount of them are actually from the people who saw the on my craigslist ads... that said, I'm about to upload something like that for the Quadro K2200... maybe it will perform better now that I properly title and thumbnail them

@@dragonsystems5973 true, youtube its 2 things, luck and skill, i dont know if you script what you are gonna say but it could help to have a more condense info, and its always entertaining watching uncommon , old or not so top tier tecnology in normal escenarios. But i enjoy your videos, if you enjoy making them just keep having fun.

@@elcancerv7804 Ive considered scripting them, but I also want to avoid reading from said script.. I have a hard enough time looking right into the camera, but, again, its up for consideration. The primary reason I built this specific machine and stopped testing on my 13900K is because I just did not find the scenarios realistic. Yeah, its interesting, but the old X299 is more of an "every man" pc. Its skylake, so its not totally ancient, but it is fairly obsolete and also should give a good idea what to expect when similar tech decommissioned workstations become the thing of the year, as they always do. I do enjoy making them, as you can see, I have more tech than one person could possibly use... I got a new job that pays well, and have basically now bought myself into boredom, so I figure just start cranking out content.. I feel like the overally production value of my videos is going up every week, so maybe something will come of this channel, maybe not... but at least its something to do.

@@dragonsystems5973 yeah, keep going and you are gonna get better, the "start" is the most dificult part most of the people usualy say.

W video I'm genuinely surprised that the rx 580 still holds up this well. then again the generational improvement from gtx 900 to Turing was insane at the time this was a throw back amazing video.

@@dragonsystems5973 😊 cool, coincidentally I have a Red Devil 580 8GB an XFX 580 8GB and a Red Devil 5700 XT 8GB in my library, today im waiting for delivery of an R7 450 4GB DDR5, supposedly this little R7 is the cheapest most powerful bus powered video card u can get for 25 bucks on ebay, I found out about the card by watching the content creators across Latin America where low spec potato builds will always be popular due to pc parts being alot more expensive for them and way less availability, the next card up from the R7 450 i think is the RX 550, have a good day and be good =)

Their day is over for modern AAA gaming, but if you are still playing the same stuff you irinally used it for it's fine... and the truth is most of us I think keep playing the same stuff, right?

@@dragonsystems5973 It gets the job done at pumping me that bit of dopamine after a 9 to 5 every weekday, so yes its still a value king at keeping anyone happy that can be satisfied with simple non- AAA games

@@dragonsystems5973 I would say that is true. Most people play the same "old" games that they enjoy. I don't speak for everyone of course but my Steam library has new and old games alike that I have never touched or played very little but i continue to play the same 3 titles and my 1080 ti gets the job done. The most recent modern game I bought and played was BG3 and even then my 1080 ti handles it just fine.

Wouldn't budget king be a 1080ti?
@dragonsystems5973
@dragonsystems5973 Ай бұрын
Really depends, the 1080Ti would be the budget performance king in high end, but typically market cost on those is $150+ I have picked up entire systems with RX 580s for free

rx 580s are in the 30$ range 1080tis arent the budget king anymore 5700(non xts) are due to rdna driver support is better also the rx580 still works great with the fsr 3 mod
