This talk sets a necessary standard. When you can actually understand (or even just reasonably hang with the logic and language of the presentation) you know you have turned a big corner on this brutal subject. Rxjs is half intellectual fad/"see how smart I am" thing and half something of fundamental practical importance, and discerning the difference is hard. Nor can it really be explained from the outside. You've got to jump in, make tons of carefully controlled experiments to see what really happens when you make seemingly minor changes, and gradually make it your own from the inside.

Wow. I didn't know of that representation of the observables/observer/operator flow. It will definitely help me to dive into Rx more easily. It really clearly describes what happens. Thank you very very much for that, will undoubtedly save me a lot of time. Great conference(s) by the way.

This is one of the best talk on RxJS. This helped me clear some misconceptions about error scenarios. And I cannot find the slides used in this talk. Can anyone share the link ?

That looks just like C# linq, and that was pretty neat feature at my time with C#.

Yeah it was made after the Reactive Extensions (Rx) library for .Net which popularized Observables as Linq for events and streams

If anyone can suggest any good rxJs intro lesson to get a sense of it. It could be some tutorials or lessons. Would prefer some examples to work on. Having hard time to learn on my own and start integrating in my project. Getting frustrated while creating Model Driven forms in Angular. Thanks Already

"Just use Rx where it makes sense" :P How do you identify where it makes sense?
@JayPhelps1
@JayPhelps1 7 жыл бұрын
Like most things, it depends on your comfort level. For you and your team, it may make sense to use Rx for every single thing a la Cycle.js. For most teams, it will make more sense to use it for harder async problems. It may seem like an obvious statement then, but in practice people seem to forget it--using Rx for lots of things and getting frustrated because they're not comfortable with it yet. Rx is amazing, but as cliche as it sounds it really is a different paradigm. Some things are going to be so trivially easy in Rx but would be hard otherwise and vice versa. If everything is a hammer...
