Why 99.9% of People Fail To Keep Making GAINS!

Alright, today we're going over why most people fail to keep making gains and consistently build muscle.
FULL GYM PROGRAM: bit.ly/fullgym...
30 DAY GARAGE PROGRAM: bit.ly/3igtiIF
Now, most people will right away point to diet, training, and everything in between but those are just the symptoms and not the actual cause. To me, it comes down to 3 things, the first being uncertainty which can come in the form of whether your training is right for you, if your diet is working or if you're doomed with bad genetics. The second is patience which is definitely one of the most difficult to grasp because you're constantly pushing so hard to get results and progress can only be measured over long periods of time. Finally, your ability to delay gratification, and I think this gets most people because if you've ever found yourself eating pizza at 2am instead of what is actually on your diet then you've failed at this... Don't worry most people do but if you can master playing the long game then you'll never stomp making GAINS!

Ok. I bought this gym program. Wtf. I’ve been watching him for 2 years thought ok good stuff. You have no idea. You want to grow ? Get the program It will wreck your world His volume is insane. Def worth the $20. Do it and cuss RH for the next month. He will def kick your a$$. I personally can’t imagine having him with me during a day

Don’t need huge volume to grow lol I only train weights 3 days a week 9 sets a muscle group go heavy and hard and continue to get gains huge amounts of volume natural won’t work good luck with that know so many ppl that tried to train like they are on peds and end up over traning

This was me before I got the programs lol. I have been following Ryan's tips for years and thinking I was doing "high volume" training. I had no fucking idea how different his version of high volume would be. I'm about to finish the garage program for the 2nd time and will jump right back in for round 3. Maybe this time through I can finish all of the routines without weeping.

I’ve been lifting consistently since 1989, apart from 2 injury recoveries involving re attaching tendons. One thing Ryan missed is you have to learn to love the training more than the goal. If you can truly love the feelings of pain and exhaustion in a workout, if you can get as much pleasure from the feeling just after a workout as you do from eating a case of Twinkies, then you repeat what you crave, and consistency becomes easy, because who ever woke up and said ‘no more Twinkies, I had Twinkies yesterday’? Nobody, that’s who. Once that addiction is established, improvement becomes an inevitable symptom.

Yes, grit determination is a big one, as well as feeding a gap in the market being another (using your personality with branding...) But what you said, loving the training, or the process, or the journey, is as close to the secret that you will ever get. In my opinion, anyway ;-)

Consistency and commitment to your goals and to yourself is the key to success. I am doing the 30 day program by Ryan because I had gotten complacent in my workouts. Finish week three this week and it has been the best three weeks of exercise, since I first started. Ya know, Ryan, generally I agree w/your points but... there's no fighting genetics. Some folks simply cannot win that battle. I've suffered w/NGP (no genetic potential) my entire life, not an athletic bone in my body. The only thing I could do was lift and even tho I've been training religiously since I was 15 (and I'm 61 now), I never attained a tremendous physique, never was super strong no matter how hard I worked at it. Yeah, I made respectable gains but NGP has always held me back. Perhaps what I've achieved is my full potential. I'll still argue there is no fighting your genetics. Keep up the solid content.

So on the mark! I'm doing all I'm supposed to, and my plan is to keep on my program for one year (I'm in about 4 months) and the PATIENCE part is so hard. After a while I realized what I needed to do to keep my sanity. It's maybe a test of how patient you are. Stop measuring yourself. I've put away the tape measure, the scale, and the mirror. Well, I've tried. It's hard to avoid mirrors entirely. The point is all that measuring, sometimes daily, is a sign of impatience. Now, I check my waistline about once a week, just to watch out that my extra protein consumption is not turning into fat.

My mistake was not working hard enough. I was sold by the Reddit crowd that just doing some % of your 1rm for 5 reps three times a week consistently is all you need because of some studies smh. 0 progress until I pushed so hard that I don’t even know the amount of volume or reps I’m doing. The only rule is to make every set feel like my last. Immediate gains.
@papaspaulding
@papaspaulding 2 жыл бұрын
I see it alot these days with so many 'studies' and data out there too many people are training too smart as opposed to too hard. A good simple rule of thumb i think is to just push yourself hard as possible every workout. push to failure each set and if you start picking up on overtraining symptoms down the line then you know where your limit is and can adjust accordingly by reducing the number of sets or the number of sets to failure, that way you're always pushing hard and making progress is inevitable

@@zhar9393 Haha, it really is in a kinda 'cut through the bullshit' type way as the shortest route to stimulate muscle growth without complicating things with all the RPE %. in short just go all out every set to failure, aim to over train and then when you do just deload or take a week off then go back at it with a little less volume and there you'll find that sweet spot of the most amount of sets with full intensity you can do per workout/ per week before hitting overtraining. It's what Ive always done since i started lifting back in the 90s and always made way more gains than most other people who insist im "doing too much"

Ryans if not one of the best we have on youtube for personal fitness. I've been running 15 years, lifting weights 3. I just started working out last week Monday again. I work out six days a week like Ryan says to. He has so much knowledge. I remember what he said you want get to the point of muscle failure with your weight lifting reps. So on weight days. I do four sets, 30 reps a set of 40lbs of resistance weights (resistance weights is less weight but it's equivalent to more weight). That's 120 reps a weight lifting night. He's very well spoken in his video's and straight to the point with some humor.

You don't even have to delay gratification if you set realistic expectations. Too many people think they will look like Ahnold after a year of training and get mad because they aren't halfway there after the first month. Track your numbers. If you do one more rep this week or move five more pounds on the bar, you are getting there.

Tomorrow is my last day of the Full Gym program. Still sore from day 1. If I have recovered enough to walk, I’ll be starting the Garage program Monday. Thanks Ryan! You’ve really helped me to understand and appreciate the amount of self-loathing it takes to make progress.

So I love this video for a plethora of reasons, but I'm gonna focus on the last 2.5 minutes of his video. to start, I've been training for a little over 5 years now. I'm a senior in high school and have taken weightlifting all 4 years. everything he says about drive and having patience is key to getting in shape or in my case gaining weight and putting on size. I'm 17 and only barely 120 lbs. But this hasn't stopped me from working harder than everyone else in the gym. It takes some people years of blood, sweat, and tears to get the progress they desire. as long as you keep at it and always strive for improvement then you've already won the battle.

All good advice. Only bit I disagree with is the "Rocky" story. I don't think Stallone knocking back the money was delaying gratification - he wasn't interested in the money, he was more interested in being the movie - that was his gratification.

The biggest part is just how important it is to you. If you care enough you'll do the research on KZfaq to get a good diet and training principles. If your body is something you take pride in you'll always find the drive to keep moving forward or at the bare minimum maintain because working on your body is a passion and Working out becomes your stress reliever.

The 20 bucks I spent on Ryan's garage 30 day program was hands down the best investement I've ever made in my fitness. I could never get my bi's and tri's to fire properly... everyone of those arm days has me feeling it right in the muscle (not the joints) for days after.

I worked out for 8 months consistently. Did everything optimally and for a while I went to faliure on every set, did drop sets, did isometric holds and partial reps. But was never sore. And going to faliure barely hurts.

Keep a training log. Try to do more reps than the last time every workout. When you max your rep range add weight and start over. I get a great sense of immediate progress and satisfaction every time I log a better performance than I logged during my previous workout.
