I use mine for about three hours a day for about 3 days with a cell phone and fan while I watch youtube on Walmart's wifi. It usually has half the power left, when I recharge it. Love it

Cool. Which battery are you using?

you might want to test some cpap machines as many use them and having this portability might help out some folks

That’s a great idea. I have a CPAP. I’m curious how big of a battery I’d have to have to make it through a full night. The biggest Ryobi battery I have right now is 4AH, but that would be a good reason for me to get a bigger one. Thanks for the idea.

My experience is that the inverter draws a small current when not in use. Don’t leave the battery attached when not in use.

Interesting. Even when it’s turned off?

Great review man! I’m glad everything was ok about the hospital stuff, have you checked out the 40v stuff? The inverter?

Hi, thanks. Yeah, I’m glad to not be anywhere near a hospital right now, lol. No, I haven’t tried any of the 40 volt stuff. I’ve thought about getting the lawn mower and snowblower, but haven’t spent the money yet. I’ve been thinking EGO because the reviews on their O.P.E. Stuff is really good for most of their tools. I got rid of a gas snowblower, because it seemed like it was hard to start, and was just a pain. I spent a long time getting it to fire up one day, and made it about 20 feet from the garage and the belt snapped, so after spending all that time getting it started, I still had to shovel. lol. EGO came out with a battery operated 2 stage blower, but it looks huge, and it’s $1,300, I think they said. So, I’m still undecided. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Rob - Tools and Tech that’s crazy, I don’t know about them yet, but I’ll say I do have a 40 volt mower and weed eater, and they are my most used and favorite tools! They are quieter than gas, so I don’t feel like an ass when I mow at times other than mid day!

Cool, yeah, the 40 volt stuff seems like it would be nice to have for sure. I love how far the technology has come. It’s amazing.

hi Rob. I recently set up a 100w solar system using a 100w pannel and a pwm charge controller my mum got me for christmas. I have a 12v 350w inverter connected to the battery so that i can charge my bike. the inverter idiling, being connected with no load, pulls 6 watts so i was just wondering does that inverter turn off after a while with no load or does it stay on and pull power?

Hey Gerard, very cool. I’ve thought about doing exactly that. I don’t know what they cost there, but unfortunately, my work may be a bit far to ride one, and there are no bike lanes and people drive crazy on that road. lol. I still think it would be fun to get me places around the neighborhood I live in though. It sounds as though it is definitely idling down while not in use. It is possible it has an automatic shutoff where it’ll take no power eventually, but it would need to be manually turned back on if that were the case. If you want to send me a couple pics or just the brand and model number, I’d be happy to do my best to get you a definite answer about your particular inverter. Just out of curiosity, how may amp hours or watt hours is the battery you have hooked up? By the way, I have the amazon card in an envelope and ready to go, but the post office was closed by time I got out of my check up with my doctor today. I will try to get it in the mail in the next day or two.

@@rob-toolsandtech2521 it's a diy ebike 2200w I made for around £350 and I use to use it for my paper round before I stopped. My school is just over 3miles away and it's pretty much one straight road with a bike lane and farms so I use that and I feel perfectly safe except for when a boy racer passes dangerously close. I use my ebike for going to buy food or genral shoping and to see friends is well. UK laws limit ebike power to 250w and top speed of 15.5mph only pedal assist is allowed no throttle. So In shops a ok one is usually £995 to £1499 but they're road legal weak 250w motors and tiny batterys. So I made my own. It's not road legal and i use it like a motorbike, responsibly. When I'm on the road I'm going 25mph and not pedalling most of the time and after 3 years and hundreds of cops driving behind me, over those years, I have never gotten pulled over. I can take a couple of picture tommorw no problem. The battery I'm using for now is a bosh car battery 12v 90ah. Lead acid batterys are not the best for solar power because there inefficient but even after the charge controller, battery , inverter loses and the weak English winter sunshine i still have enough power to charge my ebike a fair bit every 3 to 4 days, that's about 6 miles of range a day. I had some lithium ion batterys connected when I had a nice charge controller but unfortunately I'm new to solar power and I blew that controller so I replaced it with the cheapest lead acid charge controller.

Cool, it sounds like you have a great situation for an e-bike. I know some cities in the United States are putting in bike lanes and making things more better for using bikes. There are 2 or 3 streets my town has put in bike lanes. I think it would really be cool if they’d add more, especially the Main Street that runs through town north -south. So, a 12 volt battery at 90ah is 1,080 watt hours. Many lead acid batteries have a recommended depth of charge of 50%. So, you probably don’t want to discharge any more than 540 watt hours between charges to extend the life of the battery. So, if that inverter pulls 6watts even when you’re not using it. So each hour it’s drawing that 6 watts, it’s using about 1.11% of your usable battery capacity. So, it doesn’t seem like it would be a big deal to leave it running for a while if you’re not able to get to it to shut it off right away. That capacity will probably change when the battery gets old. Also, if your bike draws more power than the manufacturer designed the battery for, it may need to recharged faster than what the math would suggest. It’ll be cool to see what Tesla announces on their battery invested day. I don’t know how long it’ll take for the affects to be seen in off the shelf batteries, but I bet the prices will come down over the next few years. At least I’m hoping. It sounds like you’ve got a great setup. It’s cool to hear about.

You’re welcome. Thanks for watching and commenting. It looks like it’s got a 1 anp port and a 2.1 amp Port. So, one port will be faster than the other. If I remember right, the one in the video is 2.1 amps on both ports. If you mean the one I think you do, it looks more compact and like a 1/3 or the sales price of the one from this video. Maybe since it’s so cheap I should get it and check it out.
