Thanks for posting! Mine also broke at the weak link at the same place. I was about to throw it away. I'll add this hack to my to-do.

I've had one of these for almost 3 years and use it at least weekly... many times for 100+ cuts limbing acres of fields we mow-- have never actually used the extension. I think that bottom connection will break very quickly.

This is a really great Video. I have one of these pole saws. So far nothing has broken but it does leak oil a quite a bit. The electrical contacts on the saw end of the extension have badly burned and I'm not sure I can clean them up. Do you have any suggestion on cleaning them up and also preventing this from happening again. It works fine without the extension but is very intermittent at best with it in.

Hi, I have this RYOBY extension chain saw model and the top (thumb press) spring-loaded switch at the battery end of the unit is broken. Can you please show me how to disassemble and reassemble the unit to fix the problem? Thank you very much in advance.
