I Just bought an 06 95ci S&S Super Shovel-head. It's a Gas and at 60 doing burnouts; Life is Good. Thanks for the Video and Glad the Beast was made in the Good Old USA by Craftsmen & Women 8-) Peace

Thanks for your reply, sounds pretty bullet-proof to me.......you guys have taken all the inherent flaws found in all Harley Twin Cam engines, and have delivered a product anyone can be proud to fit into their bikes. The S&S crankshaft is a well-built, product, the very heart of the beast, as it were. I also saw a video on the S&S X WEDGE,117 CID, a little more pricey, but, sounds like the state of the art, TC engine........keep up the good work......

I have a 93" all S&S shovel style engine that's never been started. (Long story) It came fully assembled with an electronic distributor. I installed it in my 75 FLH. Haven't been able to figure out how to hook it up without having to buy one of those expensive adjustable modules (or whatever they're called). Wondering if a points distributor would be okay instead. This will be a street driven daily ride. Any help from S&S would be appreciated. Thanks. Btw. Great video.

Q: Do the S&S Twin Cam engines come with a silent chain or a roller chain drive with PLASTIC cam chain tensioners ( a wear item).....or with METAL GEAR DRIVE to operate the two cams? Also do those same TC engines have a pressed together crankshaft or is the crankshaft bolted together? Do you utilize Timken tapered roller bearings on the lower crankcase main bearing for the output shaft or INA bearings? Do you utilize Timken tapered roller bearings on the cam shaft bearings or INA bearings? I would appreciate answers to those important questions to consider an S&S TC retrofit........thanks.

+tomcata1467 All S&S T-Series engines have gear drive cams. The cranks are three piece with the mainshafts forged on to the flywheels. There are only two joints where the crankpin is pressed into the flywheels. Check out this video series about our flywheels. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pZZ9bNyVmc-bYIE.html S&S crankcases use Timken bearings on the sprocket shaft. The inner cam bearings are full complement straight roller bearings (no spacers) made by Torrington. The outer bearings are ball bearings because of the close tolerance required by the gear drive cams. Hope that helps!

I have a 111 that came on an old Electra glide. I bought it used from a dealer for the engine. There was no additional paper work on the engine. It's now on kraft Tech frame. Being a bobber build. I wonder how I can get some history or background on this enhine.

We would be happy to do some hunting to help you. The fastest way to get answers on this is to send us an email to socialmedia@sscycle.com. In the email include the serial number of the engine (stamped on the primary side), the serial number of the cylinders (stamped on a plate near the exhaust port), and from the flywheels (remove the inspection bolt above the inner primary and you should be able to read them).

I can’t fix my S&S moter, it keeps coughing out of the carb. Your guy said that it’s to lean, so what screws do I turn out ? My name is Dennis, I worked on car motets a lot also.

check your timing and make sure your push rods are not to tight if the push rods are to tight your intake will not close completely and will cough through the carb
