I just saw a interview with Alex Wella, he said the club started in 1969 and he joined in 1972. So no, he didn't start the club. But has been international president for decades, so he must be a great one.... I don't like correcting people, but facts are facts!

His brother started the rebels but died a few years after starting it. So Alex took over in 72

Yea for me as soon as my youngest son graduated high school i got a harley and started riding again. I was the only paycheck in the house so i waited until they were nearly grown. I was able to connect with other guys that ride and have enjoyed the good times and the long rides we did together over the years. I dig it.

Lol that's short as he'll most clubs I've known takes years as a supporter "friend of the club" then "hangaround" then "prospect" 5 or six rides before becoming a prospect is crazy lol

My son here in australia is a rebels MC member. Some people ask me what do they really get up to. My answer? Just a bunch of guys who love the club, their brothers, their Harley’s and enjoying life👍. RFFR🙂

Like he said, it’s about brotherhood and loyalty. You’d never see a member turn on there own unless someone turned first. At that point your not being loyal, nor showing brother hood. So why do you deserve the respect of being treated like one? You know nothing about loyalty, clearly.

Alex Vella was nt the founder of the Rebels , It was founded in Albion, Brisbane by local bikers.

Nah he didn't Clint Jacks actually founded the rebels in 1967, they were called the confederates, hence the confederate flag

If you see group photos of Rebels in Australia the striking thing is how many of them have long service patches. Most clubs have a fairly high turnover in members, but, with the Rebels, hundreds of their members have been in the club 10+ years. I would love to know the history of how the Rebels became the largest club in Australia, with chapters even is small towns out in the middle of nowhere, and also why they are so much more successful in retaining their members.

I had mates that are with the Rebs.I havnt seen them for 10 years I was going to be apart of the club the fella who was going to bring me in died years back I’m way too old now but if I had a bike now who knows ……. Nah I’m too old but my close mates are Maltese I never had a laugh as I did with my Maltese mates great bunch of blokes anyway all the best to all the Maltese Rebs. From Sydney Australia .my uncle had a tattoo “viva Malta”so to the Rebs. in Malta”Viva Rebels” cheers.

Wow, riding the highways and byways of Malta must be so cool. 316 sq. miles. Where do you ride on the second afternoon? Well at least you wont be wasting money on petrol. And you get to eat mum's food every day. This is hilarious.

There were rebels before the officially recognised variety. This guy's info is rubbish. Filthy Phil(deceased) and Shady Lane rode north and hung out with the other guys long before Phil became president of the Yeppoon chapter. Wherever you go the story changes. Alex Vella blah blah blah.
