Easiest way is to set your height measure it and cut 2 pieces of 1.5” (15mm) copper tube mark for each cartridge and label same every time it’s set for your machine

Instead of washers I cut the correct length of copper tubing with a pipe cutter that works well to.

Don't go by color at all. Color is more a result of case oxidation than it is a sign of proper annealing. Proper annealing is all temperature and time based.

Can you provide a parts list and instructions for putting together your propane delivery system? I really the idea of having the propane source away from the flame.

Thank you for the tips. I have a Bench source annealer on the way & I am heading out to the hardware store to purchase the washers. Unfortunately, I didn't hear you mention the size of the washers that you are using. 1/2" ID or 9/16" ID?

Hi Ed. How often are you guys annealing? Some say after every firing. Some say less often. Any advice would be great. Thanks!

The 6.5 Guys are now using the AMP (Annealing Made Perfect) annealer . Because of the speed and simplicity of setup we anneal after every firing.

Did you have the spacers made? I am thinking about buying a Bench Source Annealer. .

+Skip Evans Although custom spacers would work great, l haven't had spacer made for my Bench Source. I'm still using the steel washers I had at the time video was produced. It's a simple solution that works and didn't require me to buy anything or make anything new. Additionally for fine adjustments you can angle the direction of the flame because the mounts the torch tips sit in can be pivoted or angled up or down in addition to changing the overall height of the torch tip.

What Torches, Y adapter & hose setup are you using? I'd like to able to to just use a BBQ size propane bottle, instead of having to use little bottles.

would a reference make on the post work in place of the washers? 223 bottom mark 6.5x47 second mark and so on?
@65Guys

Yes it would work fine. The only advantage of using washers a preset spacer is it provides a physical index point rather than a visual one.

“Some of these are primed, some are not.” Seriously?!?!? Isn’t that a bit dangerous?

Why not find a friend with a lathe and ask them to turn some spacers instead of using washers? Spacers could be created for each caliber.

It would be very easy to purchase some pipe like material and fabricate stand offs or fixed height spacers with a hack saw and belt sander I would think. PVC might work or any extruded soft metal.
