S302 crossing the Tocumwal Lift bridge 2021!

3 ай бұрынS302 (now essentially scrapped after an electrical fire) P18, P17 & S317 leaving Tocumwal in October 2021 crossing the Murray River paddle steamer lift bridge at Tocumwal which is technically in new south Wales but no longer connected to NSW infrastructure.
The bridge originally built in 1895 is the oldest lift bridge on the Murray River, once a road only bridge became a rail/road bridge in the early 1900s, designed to lift to let paddle steamers traversing the Murray River to move freely under it.
A road bridge was has since been built and the bridge is only for rail and pedestrians now days.
The last lift Of the bridge was Easter 1995 but it was officially closed for lift operation in 1977.

What a great camera prospective.👌 It's amazing how steady the bridge was while all that tonnage crossed it. Built well back in the 1890s. Nice video, thank you.

S- 302 bay restore back to her former glory of the 1950s era reason being there are not enough S-Class locomotives preserved in Victoria that is including s300 s301 s302 and s303 just remember the original S-Class locomotives of Victoria which were streamlined we're all scrapped restore and preserve what is left in Victoria
