I really like your last statement, play for fun. My girl always asks me why I play, and I tell her it's for fun even though I come home with bruises sometimes. The best part is that she loves me for it.

- nice reminders -THX - first drill - I scored on myself - but it was a great tip- 100 puck challenge - old timer beer leaguers are lucky if they have 20 available - looking for warmup shots forget it - old guys still don't understand goalie warmups - me canceling warmups so I can get & stay in the moment - warmup shots for bottom corners don't put me in the moment - first goal may be early but they are told - wouldn't happen if I had good shots before game - same shit next game so no more

Keep the stick away from the front of your body, and closer to your post leg. That will stop you from nutmegging yourself.

Got to be great friends with Palmy when I was goalie coach with the Leafs. He was one of our Amateur scouts. He was so cocky still everyone called him rooster.

#7, Head in the Game. I like that one. Not to bust too hard on Trav, but the amount of chirping he does at the other players drives me nuts. How can you stay present and focused when your constantly yapping at other guys. I don’t get it….. Keep up the great content, coach!

Chirping is a double edge sword. I couldn’t stay focused personally, but some guys thrive on it.

My son likes to poke. Got his only penalty on a poke "hooking" the player.

Great video Keeks! Have you ever made a video on flinching when the puck comes towards your head? I took a puck to the throat last night even though I had a plastic dangler on, that’s how hard I flinched lol

Did it hit your throat or just make loud scary sound when it struck the dangler. If you have a properly fitted dangler and you don’t turn your head it is virtually impossible for a non-deflected puck to get to your throat. Turning your head on a high shot will create issues however. I always chuckle when a shooter apologizes for striking a goalie in the dangler when they are butterflying. No apologies needed as that shot would be going in and is not dangerous if it hits the dangler.

@@FutureProGoaltending it hit my actual throat, I have a little bruise from it. My problem was that I flinched my head up so my neck was exposed. I know objectively that I shouldn’t do it, but I can’t help but flinch up, didn’t know if there was any way to stop the knee jerk reaction

@@scotchhockey2020 find someone you can trust and put 20 pucks in the slot. Get in your butterfly and close your eyes. Have the shooter, float 50% speed shots off your head. He should shoot so there is no noise of stick on ice. If you can’t trust your gear on 50% shots you need to upgrade. And once you get used to the “feeling” and sound it will be less intimidating.

@@FutureProGoaltending will do. Asked a random Joe Schmoe to do that at pickup this morning and he didn’t exactly do 50% strength shots so it didn’t really help 😂
