And dats y all other teams used to think that they have won half the match when they get Tebdulkar out..... And thats y people used to switch off their TVs when Sachin was out.... Miss him so much....

@SaHiL sharMa Tendulkar played memorable innings in SA against a potent attack of Alan Donald, Pollock and Klusner. As for Kohli, he was destroyed by both Anderson and Amir on multiple occassion when condition were good for bowling. Even in last England series, Kohli scored 600 but looked like a pussy against Anderson (who isn't half as good as Akram, Donald, Waqar, McGrath or Akhtar). Can you name any 5 great bowlers of Kohli's generation that he dominated (I can give you 10 of Sachin's era)?

@@SachBro Kohli dominated Malinga, Mitchell Johnson, Muralidharan, Anderson, Stuart Broad, Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel, Brett Lee, Mitchell Starc, and many more...not to forget Nathan Lyon, he is climbing up towards Warne now..I am a big fan of Sachin for his excellent class and game but at the end of the day Kohli looked to be tough and I want him to continue more & more and make Indian game greatest..

Kohli is a legend in his own ways...only a fool would compare two different generations. Accuracy of bowlers have increased now and technology has changed the way game is played. Not fair to compare both eras. Kohli is a master class chaser and delivers when it matters the most.

I saw kohli finish lot of innings single handledly. Sachin has very few less where he was able to Finish. Sachin cannot resist too much of pressure.we saw that in 2007 world cup.

@@mrs3777 tell me those matches where kohli has 0 support. and if u think sachin can't handle pressure i wanna tell u that Sachin is having Highest Average in Knockout matches.And one of the most high pressure match that india played in last decade was india pak in 2003 . & if one match shows sachin can't handle pressure then Kohli was also not able to absorb pressure in 2017 CT final. 2007 wc was just chutiyapa spread by Chappel. And yes I am kohli fan in this era & Sachin fan in last era

@@mrs3777 Sachin too finished many innings single handedly.I think u haven't watched Desert Storm Chase Back to back two Fab Innings.& one more things if ur partner doesn't support they don't rotate strike u won't be able to win matches I know many innings where kohli failed because there was no support 2014 t20 wc Final. & in recent series there was a match where dhoni was playing too many dot and Kohli tried to go for too many boundaries and ended up throwing wicket coz there was no support from other end.

And one more thing He was not able to finish because of no support.Still he has played many fabulous innings And he is still having greater average the Kohli. Even when Kohli is playing in this flat track & bad bowling era.One more thing India were very good in DAdA's captaincy when Sehwag Laxman And Dravid all came into picture before that u won't find any batsman with 7000/8000 runs except Azaharuddin. Remember I'm just talking about Sachin Era Gavaskar and Krishnkant all are excluded. So with No players making run How u will win .Even Now if Pujara, Rahane, don't make runs how kohli will win match single handedly. U need to have strong ,3,4,5 no. batsman And india were blessed with Dravid and Laxman. And u haven't witnessed 1999 chennai test match against Pakistan . India lost that match but first go nd see that match. Then u will get to know why that happened ? I still cannot believe this day is 18 years old now... It was like yesterday that I jumped d 6 mtr wall along with my friend wth d help of others and watched this game, mar 31st, 2001.. A ground unworthy of an international match...locality filled with filth, dust, coal, drainage and all other litter till date... Imagine that time... Top of that the practice sessions were held in port stadium on d eve of d game where we got a glimpse of a young yuvraj, badani and Dravid.. Still happy memories of d Indira Priyadarshini stadium... Which had hosted a World Cup game as well which not grounds have had d privilege of. Bcci wasn't as powerful as today, people frenzy abt ckt, nearby shops closed, some listening to radio, some hopping on trees, some helping others to jump d wall Miss those days All eyes were on 1 man... And he didn't disappoint... The greatest ever, Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar... Period

Indian fans in the 1990s always paid to watch Tendulkar Play.. The moment he was out the game was as good as over for India.. The moment he got out, many of us would switch off our TV and get along with work or studies because for us to watch the other batman walk in one by one in Indian jersey to get beaten, bounced, spun, stumped, yorked, caught behind, bowled, by an Aussie or Pak or SA bowler was a beating on our pride.. For an ardent Indian cricket fan in the 1990s a Tendulkar 50 or 100 against Pakistan or Australia always restored his pride, he never expected the team to win, just in case if the team won it was a moment of great joy. Which is why everytime India beat Aus or Pak in the 1990s, the commentators in their joyous tone would say 'What a sensational victory what a Match'

The only 4 deadly Australian Bowlers Virat Kohli & his merry men faced were Mitch Johnson, Shane Watson, Nathan Lyon & Bradd Hogg while rest of the present day kangaroos bowled like pappus to the 2010s era Indian Cricket Team. Whereas Sachin Tendulkar faced a much deadlier Australian pace attack comprised of Merv Hughes, Paul Reiffel, Tom Moody, Glen McGrath, Steve Waugh, Damien Fleming, Andy Bichel, Brendan Julian, Greg Blewett, Lee Brothers Shane & Brett, Michael Kasprowicz, Andrew Symonds, Nathan Bracken, Shane Watson, Jason Gillespie & Doug Bollinger to viscious spin web of Shane Warne,Brad Hogg & Nathan Hauritz. Comparison between Kohli & SRT is hence a no brainer.

@SaHiL sharMa Anderson and Amir both dominated Virat on multiple occasions. As for others, they are either average or haven't bowled at him at their peak. Just look at the list you produced and give me bowlers who are as good as Wasim, Waqar, McGrath, Lee, Akhtar, Donald, Pollock, Walsh, Ambrose, Vaas, Gough, Streak, Bond, Flintoff, Murali, Warnie, Vittori etc. The only 2 good bowlers that Kohli played well against are Mitchell Johnson & Malinga (in a single game).

@SaHiL Sharma Get a life, man. It's not just the number of runs that counts, but also how those runs are scored. Numbers don't tell you the whole story. Batting today has turned into a hitting cult. Sachin dominated in an era when there was a fierce competition between bowlers and batsmen. Boundaries were bigger, pitches way more difficult to bat on than today's flat pitches, bowlers far better and the rest of the Indian team too weak to ease the burden on Sachin, all in an era when batting averages of great batsmen used to be much lower. Sachin struggled with several injuries over his career that required multiple surgeries and months of rest a number of times. Yet he made the adjustments, invented new shots and new batting strategies in order to maintain his form. And he also was a victim of many wrong umpiring decisions. How many of these has Virat been through? I don't deny the fact that Virat is a fantastic batsman, but Sachin is way beyond comparison. You sound like a little teenager. Anyone who has seen Sachin evolve through his career knows what gem of a cricketer he was. It seems you have barely scratched the surface of cricket. [Also, for the record, Zimbabwe was a much better team back then. They don't have the Flower brothers, Heath Streak, Olonga, etc now and it shows.]

But Sachin smashed him like anything in 1996 World Cup, he smashed him narobi champion trophy like anything, I think now you have sufficient knowledge about McGrath Tendulkar battle, by the way in this entire odi series Sachin smashed McGrath like ordinary bowler and that time McGrath made statement, Sachin is hardest to bowl.

srikanth s :- Seems like you are kid, in this entire series never got Sachin and Just listen commentary where Tony Greig mentioning the same McGrath quote, if you have listening problem then I can’t help, you will be ignorant only, Sachin smashed McGrath in this series like ordinary bowler, I talked about this series, if you have understanding problem or logical problem I can’t help. Sachin played only two test series against McGrath and both the series he played extremely well and he was man of the series in Australia and in India he was the highest scorer in first test and last test, I remember both the series how he was dominant against McGrath, improve your knowledge before commenting, entire 90s McGrath said Sachin is the best, during the tennis elbow period that is around late 2003 to early 2007 he mentioned Lara as best batsman slightly above to Sachin and again he picked top 5 batsman and mentioned Sachin on top as most perfect batsman Lara as more flamboyant.

To all those who say Sachin was never good against Team at need , 1998 wills international cup Sachin scored a Ton and took 4 wickets , 2003 WC league match Sachin scored a 38 Runs and was highest in that game vs Aussies India was going great 44/2 from 8 overs then the Batsman wasted Deliveries and the score became 48/3 from 15 overs and Ruined Sachin's prospect of scoring Quick runs and then what expect him to score and take score past 300 ???? without any support at opposite end !!!!! India vs Aussies between 2000-2007 India has won only 5 games vs The Mighty Australia and Sachin had almost top scored in All of those games !!! At least his name would be in top 3, including 2 Tons and one 50s we had a bad team setup and bowlers weren't doing the job he scored 38 in Nairobi ( he smashed MCgrath for 3 sixes and 2 fours and was second highest After Yuvi and he took a Beautiful wicket of Ponting when he was cruising with his runs) , 39 in Blore ( after Dravid , Laxman, Sewag & Dahiya he was 5th highest) if not for stupid Running of Laxman sachin would have scored a Big innings here , 139 in Indore 2001 , 87 in Brishbane 2004 and 100 in Gwalior 2004 sadly these 5 matches were the only matches won by Whole team India against Aussies During that period of 7 years (2000-2007) Blame the team and team setup Not Sachin for Defeats !!!! Guys was a legend , is a legend and would be a legend . we need to understand im any sport no one person can score every time . Yes I do agree that Mc grath got him at very crucial times like 2003 and 99 world cups . Particularly 99 world was a peach of a delivery . Other than that Sachin has scored runs ever where against the best bowling . Whenever Mc grath has got him out majorly of them were great deliveries .

When we compare Sachin vs Kohli or any other players, we aren't just comparing players or eras, we're comparing emotions deeply embedded inside. Hence, no one can prove the other party wrong. We're driven by emotions. For me, I'm a huge Kohli fan and may be the reason for me to watch cricket ever since Sachin retired. But I've never felt the way I felt while watching Sachin. I remember praying for Sachin and not for my exams or anything else. Sachin - just the name was enough for goosebumps.

This was the 4th ODI in that series. India had already won 2 of the first 3 ODIs, and Sachin had reached his 10,000 run in the last ODI (enroute to scoring 139). Probably there was no pressure on Sachin in this match, since even if India had lost this one (and India did lose this one), there was always a chance to win the series in 5th and last ODI. I think that's why we saw Sachin scoring such freely and aggressively in this innings. What a beautiful innings that was!!

62 out of the 85 runs, the team has till Sachin gets out. 15.3 overs is the equivalent of 93 balls out of which Sachin played only 38. So out of the remaining 55 balls Ganguly, Laxman and extras together made only 23 runs which is a strike rate of just 50% almost. This is exactly why Sachin had to play so many extravagant shots because his teammates were mostly lazing around at the other end. If he had either Gambhir or Sehwag at the other end he would have scored a lot more as he would have had time to settle down.
