It can, but the game is made by UE4 engine (same engine as fortnite) that's why grass in fortnite swapped with just green land. Because it will be difficult to hit that 60 target

Gimmick to get people to "attempt" to purchase a PS5, game looks great on my Pro/4K TV...especially a game like this. No reason for comparisons. And yeah if they can run a game like UC4 perfectly on PS4/and PS4 Pro, grass shouldn't be a problem on this!! lol

@@Speerhart Did Tsushima or Cyberpunk 2077 run at 60fps on Pro? Yet they do on PS5. You people are not hearing, if it was 30fps there would be no reason for it to look different on Pro. But it's not, it's running at nearly perfect 60fps on both base PS4 and Pro and all it took was some resolution dips on PS4 and some blades of grass on Pro. I'd say that's a reasonable compromise.

COD also runs on an internal engine that’s optimized for 60FPS gameplay on console, whereas SackBoy just runs on UE4. I thought about this with Pro Skater 1 and 2 (why it can’t push 4K 60 on One X and Pro) and Crash 4 (only 1080p on One X and Pro) because both of those games also run on UE4.

It's there, a little bit higher than Sackboy's shadow. At first, I also thought the shadow is missing. But then I realised, They use Sackboy's shadow as a helping feature, so players can see where they landing after a jump. So basically everything has a shadow, but it will never match with Sackboy's shadow.

This means that those shadows are almost like a texture, already generated and placed in the position the designers wanted, it is not dynamic. If you could remove the rope, for example, the shadow would remain. Dynamic shadows are more expensive because they are created and rendered at real-time. What we are seeing is the misalignment of baked shadow-maps and real-time shadows (sackboy's shadow), showing that the lighting that hits the character and the scenery should be generating shadows at a different position than what the shadow-map is placed. Sure this could also be a design choice to help gameplay while making performance cuts. (This is a very poor description of what is happening, but I think it helps to understand)

EDIT: After a while watching that scene, I realized that the rope has a shadow, but it is not below and at the same angle as Sackboy's shadow. What Felipe Aidar da Silva said about the dynamic light was right, because if we pay attention to the shadow of the clothes on the rope, they don't move, they stay static.

Most likely Godfail will be the April-June offering since that game is all but dead, but I can easily see Sackboy being the July-Aug free PS5 title. Small stages, simples textures, etc. This seems like a lazy job to me, Crash and Spyro collections-like laziness.

@@ultrafsm from what I saw, most everything was the same. The grass reacted to Sackboy the same way in all, and I mean, I watched the video in 1080p. All looked equally blurry to me. The only major difference, to my eyes, was the lighting. The lighting just looks a lot more fantastical in the PS5 version, whereas it's just ugly on the PS4 and Pro versions comparatively.

Just because it is cartoon themed, doesn't mean it's not CPU and GPU demanding. Also the game is 60fps so reaching 3200×1800 at 60fps for a console is amazing.

It is true that the game isn't looking that demanding and it's still 1800p 60fps since COD cold war plays at Dynamic 4k 60fps with Ray tracing. The reason why it's so demanding is that there is a lot going on in the background such as destruction, water, grass physics, they might not look great but this engine makes it harder for the hardware.

removing the grass from the ps4 was so headscratching and stupid, the ps4 is very capable of doing all of that no problem, freaking Ghost of Tsushima shows a huge ass field with tall grass and each leaf had its own shadow and you can kick them all over the place, then a game like this that looks slightly better then LBP3 on the ps4 shows this downgrade.

Well eventhough i can get a ps5 right now, the price of the games are just too expensive for me. $70 only just for the standard edition is too much. I will probably gonna finish whatever ps4 games that i havent try yet on the ps5 and wait for a while until there is a decent library. I bought 90% of the games on ps4 during a sale anyway

@@fullandstarving the regular ps4 can play games on hdr And the ps4 pro can play the games on hdr and 4K My suggestion is that you wait a little bit and get the ps5 you can run all the ps4 disks on them so you are gonna have a next gen console with all the previous gen games you havent tried out if you havent ever bought the ps4 till now wait a little bit and buy the ps5.

@@fullandstarving the ps4 slim can only go up to 1080p. I have a slim, the graphics aren’t bad at all, but if you want the full experience, get a pro. It will take advantage of your tv. The slim however can use 4K HDR. So basically, Slim if you want a cheap but effective console, or pro if you want a more expensive but much more powerful console.
