【Shima Onsen】
Shima Onsen is a hot spring resort located along the Shima River in Gunma Prefecture. Shima Onsen is said to be effective against 40,000 illnesses, and has long been a popular therapeutic hot spring resort. A number of onsen ryokan (hot spring inns) stand in a row along a natural mountain stream, and the onsen town still retains a nostalgic atmosphere.
There are three public bathhouses in Shima Onsen: "Gyumuso no yu", "Kami no yu", and "Kawara no yu", all of which are free of charge.
