I really like the fact that this is on KZfaq for the whole world so that they can have an idea of what goes on in temples so that it isn’t so mysterious to them. You have done such a marvelous job of explaining these things.

User 4 all these things she explained are found in the college student Manuel’s approved by the first presidency . Showing ancient signs in general . No where does she ever say a sign or a token in the temple not to disclose . It is very general things she talks about that can be found everywhere .

In an attempt to justify some of the material on this channel, at least one of the videos it provides quotes Bres Bednar as saying “that “We may discuss the basic purposes of, and /the doctrine and principles associated with, the Temple ordinances and covenants.” Which, of course, is perfectly correct and understandable However it is interesting - and important - to note that Pres Bednar has not said (or has ever said) that it is appropriate for us to discuss THE DETAILS of any of the Temple procedures outside of the Temple. As far as I am aware, that instruction continues to be given to new Patrons at the temple today.

13:42 I feel like anyone critiquing about looking for signs are being disingenuous. Another word they should use is "proof" rather than "signs." Temple/religious signs are more symbolic than "proof."

Hmm did you hear her say or tell what the signs actually are ?? No . She is only speaking in general about signs. No particular signs at All in the temple . All I see is saying how signs in general are used . These things are all found in the student Manuel’s that are approved by the first presidency . It even has drawings of how olden day temples were set up and meanings . But none of the meanings you covenant not to talk about . You can find this all openly in the student Manuel’s . Didn’t you know that ?

Some people are so angry about not having white bread at the sacrament table. Some people would be up in arms if they ripped out the pews/benches and replaced them with padded chairs. Both were notable in the video. We should consider that our likes and dislikes might be challenged in this video, but not the commandments associated with sacredness. It helps us understand words and what we are committing to. I like how Jasmin has presented it here. I believe that if the Brethren thought she was doing something contrary to the Church’s commands the whip of concern would crack in Jasmin’s ear. Which it has not, therefore take a chill pill if you don’t like this!!! Bless your heart. ❤❤❤

Anciently, armies had flags which showcased the symbol of the person (usually nobility or a nation) which they represented. IE enSIGNs (from which the Church publication derives its name). Linguistic changes make our word "sign" related to this original word. These symbols on the flags were specifically created to be highly visible. That sign was a communication to all who were familiar with it. Many couldn’t read back then. (Hence signs )However, the peasants were unaware of even the heraldry symbol meaning. those higher up in nobility could ‘read’ what the signs meant. They also wore armor that made it difficult to know who the person was. But you could see if they were a fake or their motive via their heraldry. Those who both bore it and read it knew what it meant. The rules of these ensignias was called "heraldry." And not all were privy to the rules. Only nobles and their servants knew the rules at all. A heraldic symbol was known as "a device." The American "device" may be the eagle from the US Seal or possibly the stars and stripes.

The heraldry also was a way they identified lineage. Thanks to Ask gramps and a couple rabbit holes I did some research. It’s interesting

I first went to the temple in the early 90s. For the next 25 years, I would try to imagine the significance of the signs and tokens and what they might represent. For example, having one hand down, thumb extended, while holding the other in cupping shape perhaps meant that if we used our priesthood to give blessings (hand down), we would receive blessings in return (cupping shape). Imagine my surprise 25 years later when I found out that everyone a couple years older than me knew what this gesture truly symbolized. Really? There was not a single person willing to give me a heads up that I was cutting open my belly and holding my guts?

I noticed with King Charles coronation he was given the Sovereigns Orb to hold in one hand and a scepter in another. Anciently in the absence of a scepter the king would use hand jesters like holding his hand out as an act of mercy etc. Scripturally, I've noticed that our endowment has ancient roots in three Old Testament practices, the first one being the Kings Anointing/Coranation, the second being the practice of the high priest entering into the Holy of Holies on the day of Atonement and the more basic is the standard ways priest were prepared for service in the tabernacle/temple. I agree with the other poster that this should be part of temple preparation or at least there should be a special class inside the temple where endowed members can learn more because the endowment ceremony as it stands now doesn't make a lot of sense to people and my home teacher was asking me after I went into the temple the first time if I thought it was weird which for me it wasn't but that's because I had already read Exodus and Leviticus multiple times through, the only thing I was confused about is why they didn't have a menorah in the temple. None of what you said is not public knowledge already, if you dig deep enough, you'll find it published by the church somewhere. I know a lot of people might disagree with the way you are talking about this, but the reality is that we need those who talk about the temple in a respectful and educational way now more than ever because others are spilling it out to make us look cultish and speaking of it in a mocking way. Just off the topic a little, Leonard Nimoy was attending Jewish services as a child and during a certain prayer they were supposed to keep their eyes closed, he peeked and saw the hand gestors being used and that's what led to the infamous Vulcan Salute we know about in Star Trek.

The signs are actually remnants of the similar signs used to show the penalties that were part of the ceremony until 1990. The knife, slitting your throat, your stomach, catching your bowels with your hand. I thought they had a nicer and more uplifting meaning, but nope.

The endowment uses a teaching method to simbolize how a testimony grows: God provides a law or covenant to His Children in the name of Jesus Christ, then the Child experiences in a deeply personal way how that law and/or covenant blesses him/her, then the Child of God testifies about the way he/she received such law from God. Then God provides more light and truth until the Child has to testify to God how well he/she kept all those laws and covenants in the confidence of a personal conversation that is only possible because of the merits of a Mediator, a Savior who is is no other than Jesus.

Jasmine, I hope I am not muddle up you're excellent presentation, but I ran across this young man who is striving to circumscribe all truth in one great whole. This young man understands escetorism, mysticism, symbolism, in terms, of eastern symbology rather than the reliance completely upon utterly a western mechanistic reductionist worldview. Escetorism and symbolism such as Israel's dream of Jacobs ladder and Lehi vision of the tree of life. This young LDS kid is catching on to the mysterious of the temple. ( Woo , he just made an illusion to Navajo vision quest but he is not endorsing peyote, I hope . Lol ) I didn't say he is perfect, I said he is moving in the right direction. As long as he also stays within appropriate boundaries. I will refer him to your channel just to make sure he is well grounded in essential precepts. I love your lectures Jasmine. I like him he is talking re Lectures of faith . Thanks for all you do. My son's and daughters would not like his escetorism they prefer more concrete material. They can barely tolerate my thought patterns at times. God bless have a great day

Doing what? Have you studied the scriptures, the General handbook and the words of the Brethren? It’s all there my friend. She’s done the research. You obviously haven’t. Should we not make the sign when baptizing someone? Should we not lay on of hands when giving blessings (another sign)? She’s not revealed any of the signs in the temple, but only explained what they are as has been spoken of in scripture.

Shallow ? Then please do tell us what she says that is shallow not dies she disclose any thing covenanted not to talk about . Do tell us what she says that is not suppose to be said ? I already knew most of this through reading the student Manuel books which are very profound . If you think she says things wrong then obviously you have no idea what you covenanted not to reveal . Has not one thing to do with that.
