What a blessing your videos have been to me the past handful of months! I taught Relief Society today, and I will teach again in two weeks, all about the temple. Your videos and links have been an invaluable resource which I used, and I know it helped many women today have a greater desire to attend the temple to receive more light and knowledge. Thank you for all the work you put into these.

Another Hebrew word for Token is אוֹת (ot) which begins with Aleph (א) and ends with Tav (ת), which are the First and Last letters in the Hebrew alphabet, and, like the First and Last letters in the Greek alphabet, Alpha and Omega, both signify Jesus Christ, the First and the Last. So the very word Token is symbolic of Christ.

Everything that God expected His people to do in the Temple was clearly and plainly laid out in His Word. The most sacred & holy place on earth was in the heart of the Temple: in the Holy of Holies, the very dwelling place of God. Yet despite it being the most sacred place on the planet, we are given specific details about everything that should happen in that room (Leviticus 16, Hebrews 9:6-14). There was nothing SECRET about the most SACRED part of God’s Temple!

We usually say the sacrament prayer phrase "the blood of Thy Son, which was SHED for them." with emphasis on the work "Shed." I love the shift in focus when we change the emphasis to: "the blood of Thy Son, which was shed for THEM." WE are the purpose for His atoning sacrifice. I feel my sense of gratitude magnify as his sacrifice for me mends my broken heart.

@kvicksilverman You bring up a great point. As members of the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints, we worship God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. We do not worship anyone else. We do not make anyone, nor anything, the center of our lives (though no one is perfect). We strive to make Christ the focus of our lives!

The sin is placing your faith in the empty works of the LDS leadership. There is no salvation in secret hand-grips or key words. There is nothing sacred in LDS temples, only oaths of secrecy.

Where does the Freemasonry ceremony come from? The Research Lodges have investigated the origin of Freemasonry and found that it originated in the Stone Mason's Guild in medieval northern England. It was a Trade Guild. Skilled Laborers protected the knowledge of their skills so as to be certain people outside the Guild would not know how to do the work that a skilled Stone Mason could do. It also protected the occupants of buildings in England by ensuring they were only built by qualified workmen. Stone Masons needed to travel to the locations where new buildings were being built, and in order to Prove to the foreman at the new Building Site that they had the requisite skill to do a particular task, there were secret hand grips established by the Guild. One would be taught each new Hand Grip when one mastered a particular level of Stone Mason skill. Upon arriving at a new building site the new laborer would give the Foreman the Hand Grip that showed his highest level of Skill. He could then be assigned to the appropriate task. The origins are not nearly as Esoteric as many people believe. Freemasonry started out as a Trade Guild and the Hand Grips were created by the men of the Guild. They don't go back any further than that. There are all kinds of rumors and false claims, but these turned out to be merely creation of people who wanted to embellish the history. All of the symbols, Hand Grips and Tokens were created in medieval England and come from the Stone Mason Guild. For example, the Apron that Masons wear was originally just a workman's apron, worn to protect him from injury and to carry any needed tools. The symbols of Masonry: the compass and the square are simply builders' tools from the construction they used to do. Freemasonry does not have roots in Solomon's Temple, nor in the Knights Templar, although those were fun stories that helped to attract people to want to join the Stone Masons Guild in order to learn the "secrets." When the power of the Guild started to decline as England modernized, the Stone Mason's Guild made the very smart move of opening up the ranks of their Secret Guild to the Gentlemen of England by turning it into a Fraternal Organization. The "secrets" of the Stone Mason trade were morphed into "Secrets" of God and the claims of going back to Solomon's Temple were embellished. These claims attracted ever more men to want to join in order to learn the secrets and join a "Brotherhood." Today Freemasonry admits that they do not have origins in Solomon's Temple and all the hand Grips and rituals were just concocted by the Guild. For example, the claim that the Freemasonry went back to the Israelites in Egypt building cities and monuments of Egypt have all been debunked. For one thing, there was no existence of a bunch of Israelite slaves in Egypt. There simply weren't Israelite slaves in Egypt. The Egyptian pay records of those who built the tombs, monuments and buildings still exist. There are many other reasons why it's not plausible that there was a group of Israelite slaves in Egypt. For one thing the entire Exodus never occurred and Archaeology proves this.

@@Decision_Justicemight want to look into the Dead Sea Scrolls. They were discovered around 1940ish, by a young shepherd boy. It turns out, temple practices such as signs and tokens were not originated from free masonry. And, Joseph Smith did not get the endowment from them. The temple ceremony is found throughout the Book of Mormon, and The Holy Bible if you have eyes to see. It’s beautiful and so inspiring. ❤️☀️

There is no reason to avoid talking about this, even the specific information in each token. All the secrecy does is lead to suspicion. It would be so much better if people knew what this is all supposed to represent beforehand. Besides, there is nothing in the ceremony that can't be found in the scriptures.

I first went to the temple in the early 90s. For the next 25 years, I would try to imagine the significance of the signs and tokens and what they might represent. For example, having one hand down, thumb extended, while holding the other in cupping shape perhaps meant that if we used our priesthood to give blessings (hand down), we would receive blessings in return (cupping shape). Imagine my surprise 25 years later when I found out that everyone a couple years older than me knew what this gesture truly symbolized. Really? There was not a single person willing to give me a heads up that I was cutting open my belly and holding my guts?
