I understand the sadness…..my own folks and mother in law in very poor health….not been a good time for myself and wife……anyway onwards….and just great to see you both, doing what you do best….cheers guys…

Losing a family member is usually very sad, but when you've been a significant part of his/her care at the end of life, I often feel an added void in my life. So far, the pain has abated with time, but each instance is different. I'm sorry for your loss, and I wish you comfort while the healing/numbing process slowly progresses. Personally, I'm happy to see you both back in the queue. Been watching you two for a long time, and I hope you feel able to continue. Regardless, prayers and best wishes to you both.

Good to see you. But, I feel the grief. I recognize it. I spent a month in the hospital with my daughter when she had my grandson. He was born with genetic birth defects, and her husband, myself, and my daughter spent a month in the hospital, with him. Not getting much sleep not eating much. He ultimately he died. And they couldn’t have any more children. It was very traumatizing and hard to deal with. That was November 2019. It was watching your great walk, believe it or not, that in part helped me get through my grief. Covid gave me space and quiet so that I could deal with it and just watch you walking in the rain… now I’m taking care of my two aged parents. Mom is 90 with Alzheimer’s, and dad is 87 with kidney and heart failure. Hard days. But, God is good….and I have strength for the journey. One we all must take time and again. I am so sorry. Truly. And I pray for you and Michelle.

Good to see you back in the UK, and you aren’t alone. It’s been an awful start to the year for so many people. I lost both my Dad and my Stepdad so far this year, and I’m struggling a little bit. You were talking about a cycling challenge a while ago so I’m assuming that’s in your plans. Only thing I don’t know is where. Good to see you both again x

I want to send you both lots of love and say you guys are looking well. Also I never knew there was a name for the dandelion seed, especially when you blew them. 🤭 I’ll be trying that the next time I see one. My only commentary on cyclists and walkers, is in my area they tend to not follow the rules that keep them and drivers safe. So although there are designated places to walk and cycle some prefer to walk in the middle of the road and won’t move when there’s a vehicle approaching. And cyclists around my area tend to run stop signs and lights. 😅 I do my best though to make sure to give them lots of room so we’re both safe, and you guys look like you do a good job at keeping yourself safe as well.

Hi Petri. Thank you so much... We have a saying, it goes a little like this.. The dandelion is the symbol of the military or expat child because it represents their resilience and adaptability. They put down roots easily but are ready to move with the wind and are able to settle again and make strong connections and friends wherever they land. Something along that line Petri, there is a poem that I forget that sums it up, perhaps more gracefully..

I was beginning to get concerned about both of you Steve I have to admit, especially as you hadn't posted for a little while. My sincerest condolences to you and yours. Such sad times. Grief is the price we pay for love I'm afraid. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Love to both.

Glad to see you both back together. :) That is a gorgeous church - how old is it? When you were going down that hill, all I could think was "Eek! No helmet!" My son was in a bike accident and the helmet saved him from a traumatic head injury. Love that you're back and look forward to the next adventure. 😊
