DUDE. I grew up in Louisiana and, as a teenager, realized I had SAD during the summer months. As soon as I could feel the first autumn breeze, my depression would lighten up and improve as it got colder. I would spend May-September inside as much as possible. When I moved to Wyoming and Idaho, I had SAD in the winter, like a normal person.

I grew up in louisiana too! East Baton Rouge. I don’t see a lot of people online who are from there. I had the worst summer depression from being stuck inside from the heat… the only time it lessened was during the rainy seasons. The constant oppressive heat and humidity and sun was so depressing to me. The moment it got cooler in November my mood improved so much.

I relate to Jarvis SO much on the sweat thing.I live in the south AND have chronic anxiety so there's been many times where I was doing the most basic non-exerting activities but then had to go to the bathroom and mop my neck and temples like a southern belle who's about to faint...and yeah the paper towels would come away soaked. it's so inconvenient and cringe...at the gym I look like I'm drowning.

Your comments on LA are so real, I was born and raised here in a working class industrial part of the city and I get so tired of the stereotypes that people online spread about it being full of fake rich people in the entertainment industry when the reality is that they make up less than 10% (if even that) of the LA population. Influencers especially have worsened the stereotypes of LA too and it's annoying af to locals that barely interact with the drama-filled influencer transplants people parade online. No city is perfect but I'm proud to be from LA
@xg2513

I love LA! I’ve visited several times and I love the city and the “normal” parts. everyone acts like LA is either nothing but unhoused addicts or influencer consumerist elites. In my experience it’s neither. I’ve been all over and I think my favorite places are Burbank and el segundo. But the city is so massive there’s so many types of places in LA. I do feel a stronger sense of community staying there with my friend. I miss being there. I can’t wait to go again. It might just be me but there’s a magic in the air there. I think j might just like the ocean 😂

The Chicago thing about them having stereotypes of being violent is really similar to Seattle. If you're from Seattle it's sort of just a city that's being gentrified by tech giants, but if you ask anyone not from Seattle (or even in places like Bellevue which is like a 20 minute drive from where I live in Seattle) you here from those people that we're a town overrun by thugs who kill cops. It's such a funny stereotype considering I feel safe taking public transit home after dark. And then when i say that people look horrified

33:44 THIS RIGHT HERE lmao I'm disabled and was picking up food for my snake. When I got to the counter I was out of breath and sweating since postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome makes your heart rate speed up and your body's temperature regulation fail. "Did you run here?" "No, I'm just disabled" "OH MY GOD IM SO SORRY OH MY GOD ARE YOU OKAY" "I'm good, have a nice day!" One of the few plus sides of being disabled and young is you get to watch people squirm while your existence challenges their internalized abelism and they freak out - and it feels great cause you know they won't make that mistake again!

It’s so funny whenever people talk about cities like that. Like, I was talking to my friend about how I’d wanna move back to New York one day(my family moved to the South) and live in the city. It’s really expensive, though, so I was looking into which borough is the least expensive, the Bronx, and she was like, “Oh, but the Bronx is dangerous!”, as if all of the Bronx is this crime ridden, murderer filled area. Like, my *grandparents* grew up in the Bronx(which in my scenario with my grandparents proves my point). There are bad parts of it, sure, but you could say that about, like, any city ever. And this person was kinda joking but when I first moved down here and someone asked where I was from, I told them New York, and they asked me if I’d ever been mugged. It’s really funny that, like, people also talk about New York as if it’s all the city. I lived in the suburbs, like-

I was not expecting to relate to this episode but I’ve also gotten back into Pokémon go for my mental health! It’s helped me get up and be motivated to do things so I can catch little guys

I wanted to give you guys a big thank you! I had a bit of a negative interaction with someone and afterwards, to destress, I realized that your podcast was exactly what I wanted to bring the positive vibes back. So, like, that's pretty cool.

I'm so happy to hear someone else has seasonal depression for summer also. I'm in Texas. It is humid and often 100 as every Texan on the internet will tell you. And it's hot from April to October.

Im SO glad they talked about the dude screaming about pronouns in Starfield. That made me so mad.
@Xvladin

It makes me mad too honestly. The people who made Starfield KNOW that most of the people playing the game don't want this weird pronoun stuff, but they shoehorn it in anyway becuase they just can't not assert that their worldview is right and your worldview is wrong. Makes me so mad

@@Xvladin that's not what I'm talking about I'm saying the dude yelling made me mad, not Bethesda.

for one of these episodes they should have a tv playing subway surfers in the background and try to do it normally until one of them gets distracted

As a fellow hyperhydrosis sufferer I am regretting my trip in two weeks to Florida. Went in January to see my dad & loved the weather… didn’t fully think through what the weather would still be in September.
