Good morning everyone! Today we had a delivery up this dead end road with no turnaround and we ended up facing the challenge to back all the way up the road to get the product to the customer. Had we would have not backed up We would have probably figured out the hard way that the road isn't really truck friendly and would have had to back out to the main road! After watching a dozen or so of your videos I understand why the guys that delivered to my houses were always so happy. I made sure branches were out of the way, plenty of room to turn around, firm ground to operate on and a $50 bill in their pocket for making my day easier when they put the pile of lumber where it would be best for the job. Everyone had a good day and left happy, sometimes with a dozen eggs from my chickens.

You have my deepest sympathy with your delivery, s. I used to deliver roofing products and readymix Two of the most thankless jobs i have ever done. Customers do not care or understand what is involved as long as they get what they want❤Ruth

@@SaffordDelivery: Just a bit of advice from a past delivery driver: NEVER leave your keys in your truck, ESPECIALLY with the engine running. Too many mad, crazies out there who could sieze the opportunity to either jump in and take off, grab your keys and chuck 'em, or just put it in gear, release the brakes and clutch, then jump out and run, letting your truck cause major damages, if not, somebody's death, or injuries which leaves you wide open to lawsuits. Stay safe bro.

I would've told my boss to get stuffed if I was given this task. Too much could go wrong and the driver is easily assigned all blame/responsibility.

Ive hauled crude oil for years in the Oilfields in day cabs and big Peterbilt sleeper trucks on countryside county roads. Hauled on many sketchy muddy roads during storms and after storms. Grossing close to 90k lbs in Oklahoma and this road looks real drivable theres plenty of gravel for traction it is actually a perfect gravel rd. I just find it funny that he’s overacting. But I guess he’s a pavement driver so I can’t judge.

@@SaffordDelivery I’ve drove on dirt roads for years and i know how it gets. It’s actually easier to get stuck when you are loaded with weight on the drives than unloaded. I find it hard to believe that road looks drivable. If so your company needs to invest in better tires with open shoulders. Lock your differentials.

@@ChevyLS1454 It's actually a rental and part of the reason why we're aggravated is that communication was very limited to begin with and then had they would have just told me not to drive the truck all the way down there I wouldn't have been aggravated. But the point was if I would have continued driving I would have ended up around to the back of their property with the rig for no reason

Nothing you love more to hear from eirher an employee or someone you're paying than "I just don't care bro" 23 times. Crazy, 20 years ago these dudes were doing this for fun with half the horsepower, deeper potholes and a big set of nuts. I get not being paid so not doing extra but don't complain or wonder why you didn't get a promotion or a raise when the time comes.

I don't know if you get paid by the load or by the hour,But I've had to back up on one of those roads With five complete 90 turns and about 6 miles long, it took me every bit 30 minutes to get out of there,Luckily there was only two cars that came through during those 30 minutes.I got faith in you man you can do it.#Super trucker

This guy knows his stuff but is a bit inconsistent with his delivery decisions in the videos i have watched he bends sometimes but only if the weather is fine and suits him if you get my meaning. Perfect video he went above and beyond yet this time I suppose it can get to you a bit when faced with Customers who do not understand the problems theses guys face every day.

You can do it. I've backed up a couple miles before. I've even backed into a busy road without a spotter. That doesn't mean I'm a better driver than you, just luckier.

Did the exact same job for lowes. Same machine, same type of truck and it's absolutely insane what customers expect you to do. They expect you to risk getting your machine stuck to get here shit where they want it. People do not understand you are in a fucking semi truck either. The difference is that when I worked for Lowes they always pushed me to go to crazy places to make deliveries to customers. Moffett is a pretty insane peice of equipment tho I've went through some crazy shit with it.

With the data we have today about roads and traffic you would think that they would be able to send the correct loads with the trucks that can handle the roads.. Extra costs if your place can only take a small truck etc..

These narrow mountain roads were never designed for heavy semi traffic but when people do remodeling or new construction in a existing residential areas expect semi truck traffic to come though, I wouldn't even put arrived at drop off if you can't get to the drop off, even a smaller flatbeds have areas where they can't go either, customers when they make orders don't come to communicate to the store on where the delivery is going if it's going to be in the middle of nowhere in the mountains or valleys or if it's in the middle of the city. I wouldnt of made the delivery just took it back to the store, gravel roads can be the worst in rainy or snowing weather conditions if the road wasn't graded properly

It takes experience I’ve hauled crude oil for years in the oilfields. In the country side county roads during storms in Oklahoma even during tornado threats 😂 grossing close 90k lbs. Some oil wells where real tight but we made it happen. This rd looks drivable and has plenty of gravel for traction looks cake to drive in it. But I guess pavement drivers have different mindsets.

The problem is is like we get paid by the day so all this extra time that we're taking to do this with A no communication B No spotters or assistance C losing money delivery after delivery because of the accommodations that were making and is taking away from other deliveries
