Hello friends! Here is our full stream from this week (5/25)!!
This week we’re gonna be testing out different mug recipes that we found on TikTok! We’ll be making pizza, banana bread and a pop tart cake hack, as well as a mug version of our McGriddle from last month to see if it’s worth it for the time you save!

I just want Tyler to know that it’s not weird to enjoy the shampoo process at the salon, it’s totally okay to close your eyes and chill. I personally think it’s great when a client is obviously content with the service.

Same here. It kinda is weird or awkward when a client stares up at me while I wash their hair. It’s totally ok if they relax and enjoy the service.

The reason it tastes more like cake is because it's leavened with baking powder and soda. Pizza crust dough is made with yeast.

Hearing you guys say that millennial kids in America were basically all diagnosed with asthma is so surreal to me. I'm British and I feel like I only knew 2 kids with asthma and it was difficult to get a diagnosis. From age 8 to 11 I would be at the nurses office most lunch times complaining of breathlessness and they said it's normal to get out of breath from running around. I didn't get a diagnosis until I was 12 and at 20 they finally gave me the preventative inhaler as well as the emergency one. I was legitimately having mild asthma attacks nearly everyday for 3+ years and no one actually did anything.

I was diagnosed as an adult due to a cannabis allergy, which I developed due to increasing exposure, especially since legalization. I probably had asthma when i was younger, but it got really bad after legalization. In the 80s and 90s it was legal to smoke pretty much everywhere, os it makes sense for more kids to have asthma when exposed to second hand smoke regularly.

Fun pineapple fact: the enzyme that causes the numbing and reactions in raw pineapple can be broken down when heat treated. Also grilled pineapple is amazing.

The other reason the cinnamon challenge is a "challenge" is that cinnamon is hydrophobic, so your saliva doesn't really dissolve it like it would sugar or salt. The cinnamon basically just stays a dry powder and your saliva just moves around the giant clump of cinnamon.

@@lian-colechien5528 I don't believe it's soluble in liquids at all. So you can break it down into smaller pieces manually, but it doesn't dissolve like some powders do. And obviously stomach acid can break it down further from a molecular perspective. It's like most of the foods we eat, truthfully. It's just that we don't pulverize most foods into powder before we ingest them. Think of it as being similar to black pepper. Pepper isn't soluble in water either.

@lian-colechien5528 super late reply, but cinnamon is essentially ground up tree bark, so it's plant fiber! Because it's so tough and fibrous, it doesn't dissolve in liquid (not even stomach acid). Other sources of insoluble fiber are things like asparagus stalks, grains, and apple skins! Basically goes out the same way it came in 😅

Personally, for the Pizza mug, I'd make the dough and split it between two mugs so you don't have a ton of dough in the bottom. I'd also tweak the cooking time to probably 90secs.

Haven’t watched the whole stream, so apologies if this gets brought up later. But I wanted to mention that volume measurements for flour can vary wildly due to how densely the flour is packed. So one measured “tablespoon” might be much lighter than another. Can’t remember how you measured the water, but liquid measurements in spoons designed for dry ingredients can also be inaccurate. I imagine that this was your issue. Can be remedied by (1) using textural cues to adjust with more water or flour as needed or (2) using weight measurements (which this recipe did not provide)

The recipe said 3 tablespoon of milk but they measured it with a measuring cup, maybe that was the problem then

I don’t know if someone said this already, but there’s a way to scrap off and level a measuring spoon on the baking soda box (like with baking powder). The open end usually is a little thicker than the rest of the box. and the end where it folds to open/close or where it’s attached) has a straight edge to level it! Just scoop and scrap.

Funnily enough, I was talking to a friend about merkins at the weekend and she told me they came about because people shaved their pubic hair to try to prevent lice. However bushes were in style so they invented merkins to replace the hair!

I'm only 4 years older than Ty so I get all his references. I loved Wild America, I really loved anything with Devon Sawa for a good while, so that might be why I liked his stuff even it was awful. Casper is also in my top five favorites of Christina Ricci movies. I loved Idle Hands too but that had my combo of Devon Sawa and Seth Green. Y’know, I remember a bad Barbie knockoff cartoon called Maxie (especially the super annoying theme song) that I had on VHS had a short on it wherein Maxie was trying to recreate her boyfriend’s (Todd’s? Michael’s? I forget) lucky pizza prior to his big game, and realizing that its unique taste was because the old man who had owned the local pizzeria (who had moved back to Italy) had used chocolate sauce in his pizza crust. Maxie experimented with a generous squeeze, and Boyfriend thought the old guy had come back and made a pie just for him, the taste was so close. It might be interesting to see how a chocolate-infused crust pepperoni pizza would taste, just as an experiment.

Older lady here. There’s an internal flap inside the baking soda so you can stick the spoon in and level it off inside the box before you remove the spoon. It’s attached to the part you push in to open the box.

I had the same beef with baking soda boxes until i learned you can open them up more at the top of the box and there's a piece of cardboard to level the scoop

My childhood diagnosis of exercise-induced asthma did 3 things for me: kept me from having to run as much in gym, made me very adverse to ever trying smoking, and kept the military recruiters from calling me back when I was graduating high school 😅

asthma often does affect siblings because they are typically in the same environment lol so that's why doctors sometimes also gave siblings of asthmatics inhalers, especially if parents are smokers or children are athletic and also air pollution has gone up massively and that also contributed a lot to asthma diagnoses. when you're a kid pollutants and air quality can affect you a lot more than when you age and 'get used to it' basically😂

29:57 I've had the same hairdresser my whole life, she knows me SO well and my hair preferences. One of the benefits of this is that one time when getting my hair washed from her I more or less purred, which was hilarious, and now she massages my head extra because she knows I love it so much. 10/10

I have well water so there is a lot of build up on my scalp from the water. Usually twice a month I do equal parts water and vinegar in a squeeze bottle on my scalp. Rinse well, wash and condition as normal.

I actually thought the way Tyler measured the salt for the pizza one was pretty clever, and I could tell what he was doing before Saf pointed it out. Was much easier than trying to pour the salt into an eighth of a teaspoon. Also Now and Then is my favourite Christina Ricci movie - also had Devon Sawa in it.

I'm guessing y'all maybe went to Unclaimed Baggage in north AL? Because as someone originally from AL, that's the only thing I can think of to do there. And it would be very on brand. : ) But as someone who also lived in Tally, I have no clue what you could have done there. I'm very curious to find out!

I was thinking a similar thing, they should have used the same spoon for both, or the little beaker for both, as the measurements could have been completely different.
