We leave the lovely Sidney Spit, BC to visit Ganges Harbour on Saltspring Island, mostly so we can check out the famous Saltspring Island Farmer's Market. We find it and some more fun adventures on the way, including using our solar shower for the first time!

Well I love the new intro! As a habit we always aim for the stern of the ferries and try to cross the shipping lanes at 90 degrees. I think the ferry captains appreciate that and I have this fear of sailing between a barge and its tow and getting caught in the tow line (!)

Terrific video. Really nice to see people sailing and exploring rather than working on the boat all the time. Nice to know the solar shower worked so well. I guess free hot water is a luxury, especially as far north as you are.

Running out of food is never fun. I really like the uniqueness of the area you are exploring. Lots colder than the South Pacific, but looks like you have plenty of interesting places off the beaten path of most other youtube sailing channels. Thanks.

Spent my childhood on a big river. My dad built boats and we were off on the river all free time. Visiting little islands was my favorite. Totally understand your excitement. Great times! Thank you for bringing back good memories!

We have been learning on our news of the heat wave in the Lower Mainland of B.C. We are familiar with these conditions here in Australia, and hope that you don’t get serious wildfires from these conditions. Keep safe!

I’m currently looking at a horizon shrouded in wildfire smoke. Fingers crossed this is the worst of it for the year.

Oh, you would miss the snow (which we do have, but only on mountain-tops. You have to go to it, it doesn’t come to you). You would also miss the breath-catching water for swimming. Winter temperatures around 10 -15deg in the south, warmer further north.

Haha sounds pretty ideal really! The water in our anchorage before this one was somewhere between 2 and 4 degrees. Literally takes your breath away
