If I remember correctly, that's something even those in Japan agreed with. Carry On was a much better choice than the original music used in the scene.

I just had tears suddenly spring out as she said "Cosmic Moon Power!" This episode inspired me to be brave through some awful experiences as a kid. I always imagined being brave enough to defend myself like serena, who got serious and won because she knew her friends were counting on her

I watched the new dubs and it's AWFUL! It sounds like one girl voiced all the female parts. No different accents or styles in speech. I have to watch things in Japanese cause they have ruined voice overs in cartoons in America.

I love Beryl's reaction to seeing Princess Serena on the ice pedestal. That and Serena's vow to beat her were HUGE for me as a kid. I even now get hyped thinking about it.

@Ishaa Magnolia You are absolutely right. Running away screaming would be a perfectly valid response for most people. And there are times when I want that bit of humanity in my heroes. On the other hand, there are times I need my protagonists to hero up and kick some butt. Not having seen the Crystal version, I can't say which I like better.

@@dvreaux perhaps but regardless, someone tallied up the runtime: an entire episode of crystal can be composed entirely of Usagi and the senshi laying prone on the ground waiting to be rescued and saved.

This scene was really great. I really loved the music from the dic dub version too and i actually prefer this dub of this scene over the viz dub of this scene to be honest. I still love the dic dub version of sailor moon too.

Man I really needed a nostalgia hit and this really brought me back to when I was 14 years old again. Such a banger of a song for this scene. I know in most cases dubbed songs in anime tended to be kind of a mixed bag in those days but then you get gems like this and it makes me mourn for the days when they would actually do these things for anime.

The English dubbing by DIC Entertainment is MUCH BETTER than the new English dubbing by Viz Media, iconic, and family-friendly. DIC Entertainment wisely excised the filthy aspects of the original Japanese anime.

I know I have a VERY unpopular opinion, I grew up OBSESSING over sailor moon, still a favorite to this day, that being said I actually prefer the ViZ dub overall BUT NOTHING can top the music of the DiC dub it makes the O.G so special and of course Terri as Serena

THE EVIL QUEEN BERYL, and her actress Miss Naz Edward's really had to hold and accentuate her last "NO,OOOOoooo°°°°.....! , because she raised the pitch of her voice as Beryl was Vaporized but the usually practice is to lower the pitch and cut down the volume to indicate ger death!! Fan of the DIC Version since it premiered here in Sept. 1995, and Still big fan now in May 2023A.D.!!!!!

The only issue i had really with the DiC dub of this episode is how tarnished the sacrifice/return of the scouts (merc,mars,veus/jupitar) by having them just "trapped" in the neganerse rather than dying

That’s because DiC was during a time where things had to be censored. Sucks that scenes were taken out but the DiC voice actors brought the characters to life. Viz was so monotone and whiny it was boring.

So many people (annoyingly) focus on the first few episodes where Usagi is a crybaby that they never look at this part. Hell, I bet some don't even remember that Beryl is put down by episode 45. They don't remember the Usagi (And my apologies for staying with the japanese name, I prefer those) who glared this woman who has taken everything from her: Her love, her original family, her home, her old life, and everything else and then said "Enough!" At the cost of her own life she basically put down this witch by overcoming everything that some think she never grows out of. This is one of the many reasons I love her so much.

After all these years since seeing Sailor Moon for the very first time and seeing every season of it including all the Japanese episodes from the Sailor Scouts first battles against the Negaverse to the Doom Tree series to they're battles against the NegaMoon to the Heart Snatchers and meeting Sailors Uranus,Neptune,Pluto and Saturn to the Dead Moon Circus to the Sailor Stars series with Sailor Galaxia and the gender changing Sailor Star Lights and I find it funny still after all these years with this episode 'Crystal Clear Destiny' and the last episode of Sailor Stars 'Usagi's Love:The Moonlight Illuminates the Galaxy's Sailor Moon fought her toughest battles against 2 of her strongest enemies by herself but in the end she always came out victorious and was happily reunited with her friends and loved ones.

When I think of sailor Moon I'm reminded why I named my beautiful daughter after sailor Moon I named her serenity Elizabeth rose. She could pass off as sailor moons Canadian version she has the same blonde hair blue eyes and ALWAYS happy in fact as a baby she never cried when I gave birth to her oldest brother (my oldest son was 5yrs old and my second son was 15mths old) always loved looking at my sailor Moon cards (all 3 kids knew only mommy could open her binders and show them) he asked me just prior to getting preggo with his brother "mommy when are you going to die so I can have your (porcelain) dolls and your sm cards?" And I told him "you know one of these days I'm going to give you a brother or a sister and you're going to have to learn this new foreign thing called SHARING and if you're wondering when this started happening since this new thing called ALWAYS "
