The New York Jets were amongst the teams interested in Derek Carr leaving Chris Broussard, Nick Wright and Kevin Wildes to ponder if the Jets will go all-in to acquire Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers.

@@arsenioseslpodcast3143 As a Chiefs fan Carr I can honestly say is not trash, is he as good as Lamar, no , but not trash. Lamar should get 300 mil guaranteed, but he should not leave Baltimore. The team and the coaches love him and will play their hearts out for him, its the ownership that dosent want to pay all of the Guaranteed part of the deal.

I agree with Nick on the financials but I disagree with it being the reasons the Saints didn't go to the playoffs the past couple seasons. Injury was the number one killer on both sides of the ball to major key players.

Nick is absolutely right with his point. The Saints cannot be a sustainable franchise with their antics. They aren’t going to be able to field a talented enough team to compete. This is March, there’s no telling what rosters look like in August and September. Carolina and Atlanta have draft capital and money, something New Orleans doesn’t have either of. The Saints are a likeable team in a lovely city. The players and fans liked Jameis. He deserved to finish out his contract there and the Saints could of use the year to get back on track financially

I’m sorry I’m a Saints fan and I did not like Jamis Winston as a QB he was hot garbage and as a Saints fan you never know how things are going to go let’s say they would’ve gotten a better QB like Rodgers with the team they have now I would have liked their chances to represent the NFC so even though Nick made so good points it doesn’t mean that what the Saints are doing can’t win another SB doing things the way they are doing it at least with this current roster so no Nick is wrong on his take

I think NO should get rid of Alvin Kamara (he's not what he once was and he's also getting into off field stuff you don't want to deal with) and go with young RBs and keep your WRs in tact for this year (and then dump Michael Thomas after this year). I hear what Nick is saying, but this is a key moment in that awful division where NO can actually win it with Carr. I do think it's fine to get back to being a playoff caliber team again without having to burn it all down.

So where is the “less talent than everyone else” apparent on their roster now that they have a QB? Nick only has a point on the 25% less to spend IF the Saints didn’t consistently draft well, thus maximize value of rookie deals. Having Olave, Penning, Ruiz, Werner, Taylor, Ellis, plus undrafted guys like Shaheed all on rookie contracts means you can absorb Jameis and others’ dead money. The salary cap is simply a line in the accounting. If you have a well run team that drafts well and can exploit accounting loopholes, the salary cap practically doesn’t exist.

The reason they have loss so many games over the last two seasons is because of injuries not talent. Nick does so much research but can’t see how many people did not play in 2021 and 2022. Maybe if he actually watched the games he’d see that. WHEN HEALTHY the Saints can play with the best teams in the NFC.

Saints have MAGICIANS running their salary cap books so that paper cap does NOT apply to the Saints. as a fan of theirs for years, fans stop worrying about the cap space a long time ago because it doesnt apply to the Saints. to be fair, the Saints BEAT the Eagles last year so having a better signal caller will make them even more dangerous. Dereck Carr is a really good QB and the saints got themselves a player.

How can Nick say "we literally saw it before, in regards to the Lakers, " lebron with Davis and surrounded by role players" and "the Warriors have no shot", and nobody point out that what we saw was Literally this Warrior team, Steph surrounded by the same people, except Clay's significantly better, we saw this exact team win it last year, and we saw three years ago (or is it 4) a mid thirty year old Lebron and Davis get six months off before the playoffs and a bubble tournament never to be seen again .. I mean that's a ridiculous stupid statement and the stupidest part of all is Broussard and Wilds seemingly unaware of how dumb it is...

@@spunn_co 49rs have an all pro at tackle and guard pro bowl wr, te , rb a competent head coach and elite top 5 defense that's why Jimmy g made it to the playoffs and wins games when he's healthy he has a balanced all around team 🤦♂️ but qb is the most important position and if he ain't playing half the time then he was overpaid and Purdy doing as good as he did just shows that having all those weapons and an elite defense helps your qb or else Purdy wouldn't of made it so far in the playoffs 🤷♂️

The right side of the line is fin with Ryan R, Ceasar Ruiz, and Eric Mccoy. The left side is somewhat of an issue with Trevor Penning (the left tackle drafted) not playing much at all last season with a foot injury. Overall though they should have enough to be productive with Carr, just need to stay healthy which has been the biggest problem for them.

How ridiculous are they here, Broussard says the Ravens shouldn’t give Lamar a fully guaranteed but the Jets should? Nonsense, why because better receivers? So what he is not a pass first or formidable QB, you take away the run you’ll end up with Kyler or Russell Wilson last year, we shall see.
