Hey Josh I’m not going to participate in the guessing game I wouldn’t use it much because of the size I just wanted to say you don’t want Home Depot or Lowes they suck too those big box stores killed almost all of the good old hardware stores in our country we still have a good old hardware store a couple towns away that I’ll go to because they have what need and if they don’t they’ll order it for you thanks for making your videos for us

I do own a quick coupler greaser and it works real well. As long as it is properly seated it will not leak or get off. I have bought it from Amazon and it is skinny and fits in all my recessed zerks. And it is mounted on to a flexible line. An absolute investment in my opinion. Well worth the money.

I have a lock and lube I have used for several years. Clearance for it can still be an issue. You can install a bleeder o the gun hose after the pump to relieve pressure then the coupler won’t get stuck.

I know this sounds snobby as hell, but once you have used a battery powered grease gun, you will never look back. They are tough as hell, you can even use them for hydroforming. The battery powered caulk gun is a close second. I believe Ryobi makes one that can take grease or caulk. Yeah 60 bucks is hard to stomach for a simple grease gun, but it is so clean, and saves so much waste, I bet it pays itself off in paper towels in 5 years alone. Really a pleasure to use. The one I have is a popular Red Brand and it has a locking cap with a much smaller presentation. It's a series of ball bearings on a sliding collar, much like a pneumatic fitting

The Milwaukee (Red) elec grease gun retails for $534 here in AU and in my opinion is worth it, never going back. Here in AU even manual grease guns can be $100. Older inferior elec models from Macnaught and Alemlube come at over $1,100 with useless batteries you can't use on anything else.

I have had the “original” brand of locking tip for the farm. Had them for years, but have the same issue-some zerks are just not accessible with the bigger tip size. My 15’ batwing ditch mower has almost 60 zerks! I have to get the regular gun tip for 4 of them…..

I haven't had a chance to watch your sawmill video yet, as I only found your channel a couple of months back, so I have no idea how many grease nipples there would be. The way our internet is, if it's even working correctly, it limits what we can do. We are still on ADSL 1 with a maximum download speed of 6.5Mb/s and this is Telstra, Australia's best network. And it's been broken for two weeks now and they still haven't fixed it yet! But the coupling looks interesting and that was a straightforward and honest review. All the best from Queensland Australia.

I Have one of these on my grease gun in my shop , I put a grease Zert in a normal size tip and keep it attached to my grease with a string so I don’t have to carry to grease guns. Also have a one shot you use hammer on to clear really stubborn clogged zerts, i t is awesome,, keep up with your videos we enjoy them very much

I’m running a 6’ finishing mower without the belt cover because the access holes through the cover to the three spindles is too small to remove the grease coupler after you’ve finished. It’s easy to push the coupler straight on but, to remove it, you have to tilt the coupler to the side. I just ordered two of these to try. I may end up with two grease guns - one with and one without.

I have the original "Lock and Lube" and it works pretty good it very small and long, I can grease U-Joints with it, but I just bought a new and they don't hold the zerks as good the older version and leaks grease around the zerk. I have two guns setup like you mentioned,

I use a lock and lube coupling as well, I absolutely love it. Mine was purchased last year and doesn't leak at all, so it might be a quality control thing. I use my grease gun pretty much exclusively for greasing flange and pillow block bearings so i don't really run into confined fittings, but you're right that the coupling does have a very low profile.

Hi Josh, I am a retired toolmaker in Northern Illinois. I too have my own manual machine shop now, and really enjoy your videos. We have all the box stores down here, but our Menards stores are really good. They are best known for their quality lumber. Home Depot lumber looks like it was cut from a corkscrew tree. A couple years ago, I built a 24 x 32 foot addition for my shop. The lumber was cheap (11% off entire order) and it came out great. Not the best place to buy tools though. I like your homemade sawmill! Keep the videos coming.

Menards here is bad lumber. Part of the reason for building my own mill. The customer service sucks .I know it's mostly just the local store. The others aren't this awful, but the all still suck.

I don't recall the brand name of the locking coupler I use but it's not that large. I just started using it a couple of years ago and it's absolutely a life saver. I have two of them. I have a Deere compact track loader that is very difficult to grease without it. If there's anybody out there who has heavy equipment or agricultural equipment that doesn't have one of these, they don't know how much easier their lives could be by getting one.

I'm a heavy equip. mechanic and I have an Alemlube locking grease coupler, sort of similar to this on my elec grease gun. It is a better, less bulky design, you press down a similar lever and the coupler opens out sort of like 3 hooks which shut when you let the lever go. This design lets you get at recessed fittings and ones with bashguards fitted but it is still long and has the lever making it hard to fit in tight spots. The locking function really saves time when it can get stuck, but you're right they are hard but not always impossible to fit on uni. joints.

26 fittings. I use the " lock and lube" a little smaller but also has some fitment issues. I have 2 short hoses made, 1 with a 90 degree coupler and 1 with a regular coupler. Eliminates the need for another grease gun

It’s good to know that it doesn’t work on recessed fittings. As for the big box stores, the success at keeping the shelves filled is based on the point of sale inventory tracking information that is uploaded to corporate purchasing. Corporate monitors each store's sell thru on each item, and sets the trigger point for restocking based on frequency of sale of each item. If your store only sells two or three grease gun hoses per year, that may not be enough to insure restocking when the inventory gets to zero. It’s all about insuring that the most popular items get restocked in a timely manner, and non sellers often don’t even appear in the store, but can be ordered online. Example would be finding snow shovels in the Tampa Bay stores…it’s silly to even stock them because they’re not a local use item.

PTS Pro Tools makes one that fits in to recessed ports great, but the length makes it hard to get into some tight spots. A 90 degree hose end helps.

My guess would be about 48 grease fittings. As for the grease gun end I have one made by Lincoln. Made of cast aluminum and broke off behind the coupler. I had ot make a new body out of steel. Only reason for making body is I bought it to use and not just to have. It has all the same issue of the one you have,

Wow! Now I am really envious! You have a hi rail truck and can actually use it on the rails! I worked for the B&O and NYC in the early 1960s and we had "speeders," that were actually cooler, if not as comfortable, than hi rail trucks. My Fairmont M19 had a 2-stroke cycle engine that ran both clockwise and counter-clockwise for forward and reverse. Thanks for the product review. The moment I saw that fitting I thought it was too large for recessed zerks. Yep. Nice that it doesn't leak, however.

I've got miles on speeders. Lots of time on an A4. But also the smaller cars. I still prefer the truck or the air conditioned cab of the TR10 tie inserter I run.

I have the Lock-and-Lube coupler, short and long version, that Saker brand looks bigger diameter. You should've bought both brands to compare and give review. Menards is nowhere near me in ME, from what I see online it has huge variety of goods, the refrigerators are top name brands only, as oppose to HD or Lowes, dont know if I'd condemn a store over a grease gun.......
