From China With Love!
The Saker Battery Powered Chainsaw is very similar to the Stihl GTA 26, the Milwaukee Hatchet and the Bosch Nanoblade.
You can buy one here on Amazon
amzn.to/48hLha7
I get a couple bucks if you buy at that link, so that's Full Disclosure
This is part of a series we're calling From China With Love. China has a reputation for making some real garbage equipment, but there are some gems out there. We use lots of stuff made in China, and never seem to notice UNLESS it breaks. SO, we're going to seek out Chinese equipment and try it out to see if it's all that bad, or if there are some diamonds in the rough!
Will it hold up to normal use around the homestead? We'll see how it does with pruning trees, cutting lumber, and maybe chopping some PVC.
This IS a sponsored video - Saker sent me this machine for free, but I have made no agreement to do anything other than try it out.
From SmartSaker.com:
Ultra Efficient Motor
The pure copper motor is better at dissipating heat, and it takes about 10s to cut a 15cm diameter log.
Rugged Design
The hardened guide chain and thickened dust baffle over the saw make cutting faster, cleaner, and more powerful.
Up to 4 Hours Cut Time
The 20V 1500mAh rechargeable lithium battery lasts up to 2 hours of continuous use, and 4 hours of mild use.
Compact and Lightweight
It comes in at just 4 inches in length and weighs just 1.1kg with the battery.
Fits in Your Hand
The design is small and compact and easy to control with just one hand.

That's just like the one I got today, but I charged the batteries. I only got it so that I could cut crepe myrtle limbs, which are small. Thank you for showing me confidence in using it. I also got a bottle of oil in mine.

My Saker came with a small bottle of oil. Instructions say to lubricate the whole chain evenly before each use and also whenever replacing a fully discharged battery with a charged one. I can run one battery for around 4 hours of prunning. I have not had any problem with the tension adjustment screw slipping as you showed in the video so I wonder if Saker is using larger screws heads in the more recent chainsaws. I bought mine last month and the case is different than yours so some things have changed. My case is more compact which is great. I love my little chainsaw, it has saved me hours of work in my yard this years. Like it or not, it really helps to read the directions before use! BTW I'm a 67 year old woman, on the slender side, and I can use this chainsaw with one hand for hours without fatigue.

I really appreciate your review. I just watched one by a fellow who claimed to be an engineer who did half the job you did. This is the first time I have ever watched a video you produced so I don't know if you are an engineer. In any case the other fellow is awful and I m glad to have found you.

I'm definitely not an engineer. But I DID have a cool train engineer's hat and a wood train whistle when I was a kid. So that's kinda the same thing, right?

These Saker saws will break off at the bottom of the handle just above the battery where the blue ring is located. I recommend buying one that has a solid one piece handle.

Is it still running OK? I bought one a week ago and it's run out of juice after 15 mins of cutting (small branches). I had charged the batts for only 2 hrs, how long do you charge the battery for? The manufacturer told me between 3-5 hrs so maybe it;'s that, I hope so otherwise it's being returned. Greetings from England, UK.

Seems to be running great still. I put both batteries on a charger for about 5 hours, and they ran flawlessly

They definitely charge very slowly. I'm not sure what type of battery cells they are, but I would plan to give them a full charge after each use and avoid completely discharching them

@@HomesteadBandwagon Gonna try for a full refund on this piece of sh*t as all the batteries now have melted terminal points. This is unacceptable after only having it for a month. It's cheap I get it. But I should have spent a bit more and gone for a decent chainsaw like a stihl. Thye cost more, but you get what you pay for right? Is your Saker still working?
@MrAndyballard
@MrAndyballard Жыл бұрын
@@therealrawker Very frustrating indeed. Carving pumpkins maybe... but cutting firewood is very different. The chain went blunt after a very short time and they actually sent me a new battery after I complained about the short operating time of the original batts. It says you'll get 2 hrs per battery on the website, that's just plain untrue. I get maybe 20 mins to half hr on a 5-6 hr charge. This is a cheaper chainsaw I know, but in hindsight, I wish I didn't waste my money on this.
