Flakes is just better, mechanically, mentally, speed and consistency. Everyone kept raving about leth but he's only good when he tilts people. Everyone that lost to him played way below what they are actually able to. First lost by 1 goal to flakes. If first plays leth 10 times leth probably wins 1-2 of those. He isnt better he just knows how to tilt people.This series really shows how he can be dominated in his own skill set. Leth also is a ego maniac and full of shit.

I was trying to commend Flakes for putting his full effort and taking it seriously. But First is on another level. He just takes the game in general too seriously. Flakes is willing to have fun at the same time, experiment with cars etc..I think that's actually what makes him a better player. I think if you're so singularly focused on one aspect of something, then it makes you more narrow-minded, and less equipped to handle unexpected things. I mean First fell apart just because Leth chose the scarab for one game...He needs to lighten up a bit IMO.

Playing a merc has a similar effect, whether Flakes believes it does or not. Several pros have expressed that they would not feel good playing with a teammate in the merc, regardless of how the teammate played. @@dasyakky100 (fake edit: lol this came out way bigger than i thought) i see where you're coming from, but imo that analogy is not very good. there's no "dress code" in professional rocket league, and a car is not inherently "unprofessional" just for not being an octane or a dominus; a merc is not even such an ugly car and can definitely be taken more seriously than a scarab (which became a meme by itself due to how fugly it is, the merc was *made* into a meme car). yea, pros may feel uncomfortable if their teammate suddenly wears a merc, but honestly that's dumb because it's just an adquired mentality; some pros started using plain default preset octane because they felt that having aesthetical "noise" distracted them too much (example: squishy). this just was then followed by more pros using "plain" cars (usually octane), but this was never because the other cars were "not serious enough". i can 100% assure you that if chausette hadn't won a dreamhack while using the fennec, then other pros would not have also started using it and then *nobody* would be using it in competitive settings at all, and it'd be made fun of just as much as a merc. i for one am glad that someone's finally challenging this whole mentality, especially considering how rocket league has well over 40 cars
