I’m glad Jennette McCurdy is speaking out against Hollywood, her mother, and Dan Schneider. It’s disappointing that Dan Schneider is still not being held accountable for his actions. I’m fine if Jennette McCurdy does not want to reprise her role as Sam Puckett in the new iCarly reboot. Her mental health matters.

Right?! I had this argument with my older cousin that was trying to force her 5yo in to modeling. Why are you making your 5yo get a job when you won't? My cousins husband (who wasn't against it when my cousin brought it up) quickly stepped in and told her it wasn't happening. They divorced not long after that and he has full custody. My neice is 16 now, doesn't care about fashion and hates photos lol. Much to my cousins dismay. My still unemployed cousin.

This is something I've always noticed too and was literally just talking about last night. It's far too common for families and media to suddenly "forget" all the bad someone's done and focus on good. My cousin (a person who sexually assaulted his sister and 2 of our neices) died 2 weeks ago (he was in prison and died due to unknown circumstances 👀). That email from her mother is abhorrent. Abusive, narcissistic people use the best parts of you as weapons to punish you for not obeying and destroy you. Your kindness, your desire to make others feel loved, your compassion, your forgiveness, your trust, your love for them, all become nuclear bombs. To my understanding. Narcissism and sociopathy are learned so this is presumably us as society failing them. But I wonder if by the time symptoms manifest, they're far to ingrained in their mind to uproot the narcissistic thoughts. Psychopaths on the other hand is genetics so I can only assume the best course of action is removing them from the gene pool. ASAP.
@Alisstta
@Alisstta 6 ай бұрын
@@JoelHernandez-tz3vk Sometimes, psychopaths can be taught differently if they catch the symptoms early on from what I've heard. Nature vs. nurture, y'know? I'm definitely not a medical expert or a psychologist, but I've seen multiple sources saying that while disorders and psychopathy do run in genetics, they just make them more common? I'm not in any way an expert on this, and just wanted to put this out there, but I can definitely be wrong. One note on the 'removing people from the gene pool' though. Isn't that similar to eugenics? Not allowing people to have kids to get a more favorable gene pool for future generations? I definitely agree, but I feel like it would form into something worse by not allowing "unattractive" people to reproduce, or whoever decides who has kids might not like certain groups, like minorities, religions, or the LGBT community. It's not that you're wrong, but that the world would twist this around to stop people who don't have these issues from having kids.

I had to be perfect and when I became a teenager and started to find myself, I was often told I was worthless and sometimes beaten. To which I started to rebel. When I left home for college she made me feel like she missed me and that she really cared for me but I ignored her. I still feel a lot of guilt ignoring her during those times she was struggling from her illness. I hated her because she was the reason I hated myself but I still miss her

Every time I think about letting my kids get in to acting and modeling, I watch one of these to remind myself WHY I chose to keep them away from this industry. It is so toxic, but particularly toward children. She's right. Kids shouldn't be forced to carry the weight of movies/shows. Childhood is so short. Just let them be children. They have their entire adult lives to act and model.
@amylee8969
@amylee8969 11 ай бұрын
@ DaniS398 Only reason this keeps happening is because producers aren’t held accountable. They’re allowed to get away with things just cause they have money. The solution is to have stricter laws for kids who get into show business and more severe consequences for adults who are inappropriate to them in any way. Because without child stars, there would be no movies and shows for kids to enjoy.

Shirley temple kind of went through this. There's a history of parents taking their child star's money or making them work for them.

She wanted to say "Me" When she said "I think I have chosen." She stopped and looked for a different way to say it. Her concern was to not appear or feel selfish. I can tell if anything she is selfless. Which also has it problems. Good for you Jennette I hope things only ever get better and better for you.

Most do not truly come into their own tell their folks have passed.... We spend the time they are alive merely trying to please them and being the person they wanted us to be... only after they are gone can we be free to be as we are... Some cut ties to family sooner to this fact but not many.

Child beauty queens, olympic gymnasts and skaters, and of course, child actors. Show me a child star and I'll show you a parent who's pushing them too hard. I think most parents give their kids too little to do that's actually productive. But some parents rob their children of their childhoods.

Wow! 30:18 Her own mom wrote that. Disturbing! Then, the very last line is this.... "Send money for a new fridge. Ours broke." Even creepier, Mommy Dearest. Yikes! It's sad that parents aren't really held accountable for such criminal actions. I guess kids can be freely abused at home. No one will intervene. Sad. That's life.

"the creator" aka dan schneider needs to go to jail he literally touched jennete and was acting all creepy preassuring her to take some of the unnamed adult drink another person who needs to go to jail is that guy jennete was dating he was 30 and dating a 17 year old girl wth!?!?!?!?

Sadly, a 30 year old dating a 17 or even 16 year old is not illegal in the US, or in many parts of the world. 16 is the age of consent and they refuse to change it because it serves the sickos in hollywood and the government

I'm super glad that she is speaking out against Hollywood,her mother and Dan Schenider because they need to be in the wall of shame plus Dan Schneider needs to be held accountable for his actions I think that her mother was trying to live her dream out of Jennette and not knowing the red flags that was going on in the industry and beng toxic and blame it on her daughter that's so low.

Jeanette, I just want to say. I watched you as a kid as your a few months younger than me. You were always one of my favorites. I am so glad you did this. I am so glad you stripped it all away, and just said what your experience was, and you were able to do it in such a pure way. My heart aches for the way you were treated. But it has built you into who you are now. It just goes to show, you never know what these actors, comedians, singers, etc are going through while they’re performing for our entertainment. Drew Barrymore had such a crazy childhood as well due to a lot of choices that were made by her parents. Just know, you are so amazing, intelligent, and worthy of kindness, loyalty, love, and life. It kills me that I may never see you in another film again in my life, but I absolutely respect it. Sometimes you have to do what’s best for you and not everyone else.
