Maybe it was just me, but it seemed like Mr. Elliot had a tear in his eye the whole time he quoted Mr. Lamberts story. I give honor to ALL our USA troops, those alive, those who have passed, and those who gave their lives defending freedom. Salute from a grateful American citizen. Lastly, a shout out to all of our Allied soldiers, for sharing our soldiers' sacrifices.

My dad was with the 29th and landed on Omaha. Rarely spoke of it, but before he died, once in cardiac intensive care in rough shape, he looked at me with moist eyes and said, “I’m not afraid to die. I’ve lived on borrowed time since D-Day”. I will never know what that day, or the next 10 days of hedgerow fighting my dad experienced before getting wounded outsideSt. Lo, or thousands of others , many were not given the chance to come home and have lives with families. But I’m proud to say my dad was of the generation who’s life was interrupted in order to do for this country and this world what was necessary. Got bless them all.

This was sooo incredibly moving in so many way! It’s horrendous to hear the details of what these men witnessed and endured yet it’s also so inspiring and a wonderful example of true heroism! Mr. Lambert is an exceptional man and obviously very blessed! Our world is better because we had him and others like him in it! ❤️ Sam Elliott was the perfect choice to tell this story! His voice and talent can obviously convey the heaviness, drama and intensity of this experience as well as the hope that had to be present in each moment. But it’s his heart that makes the real difference. Through many interviews and experiences we’ve witnessed his sensitivity, empathy and compassion and these are what makes him sooo compelling as an actor but also as a person, I believe. And when he meets Mr. Lambert and thanks him for allowing him to tell his story you can hear the tears he’s fighting back in his voice. I love that this opportunity meant sooo much to him and I do believe he felt blessed and honored to be allowed to share Mr. Lambert’s experience with the world! Two great men...two great and patriotic Americans...coming together to teach the world about the reality of the sacrifices made and hardships endured that have given us the freedom we enjoy everyday. God bless them both! 🙏🏻❤️
