to be fair its not cenas fault. wwe books him to win. its not his choice. but at this point hes too big a merchandise goldmine for them to not force him down our throats. ppl have to accept its not about giving us what we want but how much money they can make off their guys. especially since they have all these sponsors they have to worry about.

We only boo Cena because we are SICK of seeing him in the main event year after year after year when they could be building new stars, yet the only guy Cena put over clean in recent memory was Daniel Bryan, and look where that went. BS wins over Cena amount to nothing, just look at Punk's mediocre babyface run in late 2011- early 2012. He never went over Cena clean.

As he said, he might get booed by the Adult fans, but their six kids and girlfried/wives are gonna go buy his merch at the end of the show, so why stop?

I am a huge John Cena fan when he was the bad guy and a vinilla ice character and hes from my home state of Massachusetts but i stop watching wrestling couple years ago when HBK retired and thats when WWE went downhill for me but i cant wait til i play 2k14 when i can relieve HBK vs Razor Ramon and having the old school HBK being on that game is a treasure.

I agree with NickD25, if the fans are doing absolutely nothing, then you've got a problem. The way to be successful in wrestling, is to be relevant no matter what. It doesn't matter if the fans chant "We love you!", or "you suck!", if the fans are talking about you, you're relevant. When it comes to the job of professional wrestling, that's all that matters.

Everyone hates on cena too much. He Is a face, so kids are gunna like him. Don't say he cant wrestle because he is very good at it. I don't cheer for cena and I am a Punk guy but I respect the hell out of cena and can admit that he is great at what he does.

However, even though many fans scream "phony" with regard to Cena's 'character', I feel that, considering how long he's been this way, there's a level of psychology involved that wouldn't make sense for Cena to abruptly turn heel. It's one of the main reasons why some fans attend live events. Being a top star and entertainer requires you to accept the fact that you cannot be loved by everyone. No reaction is far, far, far worse than booing. John Cena is living proof of Reggie Jackson's line about "fans don't boo nobodies."

What's the change, though? The only change that makes sense is to turn him heel; however, would people cheer for him if he turned heel? Also, they make make the some of the same sacrifices but being the Face of the Company is a far greater burden than you are making it sound. Being the Face of the Company doesn't allow for change in character much. CM Punk could do the pipe bomb thing, and turn heel midway through the title run because he wasn't the Face of the Company.

ACTUALLY, its scripted. Turning cena heel would be a bad business move on creatives part. Less merch would be sold, less tickets would be sold (as seeing anyone ages 15 and under wouldnt be there because cena is a bad guy). So cena has no power over creative. He gets paid to do what the script calls for. And if he disagrees then itll be lesnar/wwe and stone cold/wwe all over again.

Any face can get booed today it has been happening for years.... they booed HBK at Survivor Series 96, they turned on Rocky Maivia in 97, they cheered when Hogan got eliminated from the 92 Rumble, they booed Rey Mysterio at Wrestlemania til he won the FORMER World title and for what......
