Not me looking for local E70s x5 for sale after watching this.

Just so people don't get confused, in the US, the F10 535d has the N57 (different than the e70's M57). Also, the US did not get the e92 335d. The US only got the e90 335d, which is also the M57 engine. That's it. The only two vehicles the US got with the M57 are the e90 335d and the e70 xdrive35d. Also, the e90 335d was ONLY available after the life cycle initiative (LCI transition). We don't have the Pre-LCI e90 335d here. Needless to say, the 335d's are fairly rare. I had to go 1,600 miles to acquire a 335d MSport, which only has 758 "siblings" in the US. Had to go about 300 miles for an e70's with a similar spec as the one in this video, but I got lucky there.

My wife has one as well, I drive it most of the time and I love it. I have a cts-v and I almost convinced this thing will pull on it. I also tow with it. Will take on big hills 60 mph with 6k behind it.

One of my good friends has this engine in his 2011 335d with the same torque but 450 horsepower it’s a monster!

we picked one of these up for the wife beginning of last year, ours is black on black. But love the look of the boujie brown. ours is bone stock for now but definitely plan to "hit a pothole" in the future. nice review man excited to see more vids! one thing to add, my favorite feature of the M57 is the dipstick LOL i hate that new bmws dont have them, but the diesels do. Big plus in my book

Sounds really good! Still has that signature BMW sound although it's a diesel. My wife still wants one, we'll probably sell our E90 and move the funds towards one or an X3. Car looks great!

Enjoy.. I have built my E70 and it’s fun .. I would say the apple car play makes my X5 like new.. I need to add the tow package.. the family shop built my new engine.. I do recommend Hot Shot's Secret Everyday Diesel Treatment I get about 20 percent in fuel increase so really happy .. our shop it OTS automotive in Austin.. i know this summer I plan to cruise my 2012 ro the east coast .. I also programmed my back hatch to open and close from inside and the remote (American X5 usually don’t allow you to close but in Europe they do ) .. Little things .. but I have replaced all major components and serviced my transmission so I hope fingers crossed 100k with no major issues.. but there are some great how to videos on you tube for sure ..

I'm not a diesel guy...but THIS I would make an exception for.

love my e70 diesel. It has the tow package with air ride so the back so it never squats when I tow. its a beast.

My 2012 X5D is about to hit a pothole and I can’t wait! It’s a daily driver and I have an E92 M3 that gets towed by the X5 and it’s getting 16-18MPG towing which is absolutely insane…

My wife and I are a two vehicle family (we're not balling as hard as you)...so I need to have a family friendly vehicle. The diesel X5 checks all the boxes so I picked mine up in 2018. My wife liked mine so much, we bought one for her too. Both of them have had their updates...and it sure does wake them up nicely. Its amazing how fun a 5000lb family bus can be.

Awesome , just slight corrections , it doesn't come in the f10 535 , but the e60 535d facelift, also in an x3 facelift first Gen. The f10 535 has 313hp and it is a beast , the 35d engines are really successful, people have been simps for the 35i , but I'd say they've been sleeping on the 35d.. Like you said , those things are torque MONSTERS , with a bit of tuning I gets amazing gas mileage and awesome power !!

Love the look of that car. I have a 335d and it is indeed pretty quick. The biggest problem is being able to put that torque to the rear wheels through the open diff.

Bought one of these a year and a half ago, I’ve owned 15 cars so far and it’s my favorite. I live in colorado where emissions laws SUCK, but I might just “move” to my friends house in another county and get mine deleted.

Your lucky to have the m57 in the e70. Had to do with the n57 in my 4.0d with 305bhp no tune. Love the m57 have also e60 535d blows the mind when u put the foot to the metal.

We have '2011 X5d with 150K, engine started to rumble so we took to dealer they wanted $15K to fix. I said no, and for $700 they replaced boost sensor and reset warning lights and it's running like a dream again. They said eventually all those pollution parts will need to be replaced. I want to run it another 100K. Any thoughts on that?

Nice car i would personnally prefer the 4.8 N62 V8 got already 360hp from the start and cost a bit cheaper to get oh yeah and the sound of it Jesus!!!

I know its Extra money but u should really consider getting a t300 thrust master or direct drive they can be pricey but it really changes the sim experience ALOT. i had a G29 for years and it was fun racing but drifting wasn’t the greatest then i switched to a T300rs got a shifter and it felt SOOO much more better and real it actually helped me drifitn irl made my pedal control more smooth and consistent and steering more smooth so i didn’t spaghetti arm the wheel.

Hi Sam, you mentioned about an updated software to boost the power of your X5 diesel engine, may I ask where can you get that software? I have a 2013vX5 35d just as yours, it's burning a lot of oil now and if it's the valve stem leak/sealed? It would cost a fortune to fix it. Any advice? Thanks !

btw be careful if this car has CP4 fuel pump theres some issues with it, the older CP3 is much better and can handle the mods aka remaps etc
