Samaritan was a really good movie. The plot twist was kinda visible about twenty minutes into the movie yet the confirmation was very satisfying. It really does answer that age old comic fan question what happens if Joker kills Batman or Luthor kills Superman.

I knew it right away as well. I did notice my family, who isn't into comics or stories like I am didn't see it coming. Good stories have disappeared. Everything is a repeat of a repeat , so something like this was a great change. What's crazy, is the reflection of the real world shines through. Every man I know used to be what wouldn't have been consideredaw abiding guys, is now strong protectors of their homes and way if life. Right now it's 35-45 having all the common sense and strength, while backed by their elders remi ding them of what things should be. The world is a mess, we need old heros to stand again, even old former bad guys need to stand, as one

This movie was amazing! And yes, the storyline was terrific, better than most of the superhero storylines that are out now. The acting was great and we didn't have to sit through 30-45 minutes of an origin story. What is there not to like? Not only does it leave room for a sequel, but also prequels.

I think that they would get more mileage and action out of some prequel movies that show the two brothers at war with each other.
@HassanAhmed-rf9xr
@HassanAhmed-rf9xr Жыл бұрын
@@stephanie-yu4ng not even that. The beginning always seems too hurried to me. The brawl in which the youngster punched. Man, that transition was quite fluid. They most likely increased the power output and added some sound effects beyond what a 13-year-old child can handle. also the beginning. I sincerely hoped the youngster didn't merely stumble across him. Instead, he was seen searching for a Samaritan. However, they enjoy moving quickly. Now that we are aware of Samaritan, the youngster is capable of combat. There is seldom any bullying and then suddenly we get involved. Nemesis storyline twist results in the death of the villain. He doesn't get enough screen time or background. So the villain seemed too bland. Kid needs training arc. Samaritan+Nemesis arc. Searching for Samaritan (including the novel writer). And finally Villain backstory. That could be 3 movies. Even just showing the kid training before. Did he say something about boxing? Anyway, we don't need all action. Even that fixing old trash made him more human I just wanted to see stuff like that.

Aye, reminds me of Kratos from the god of war series. Old games was all about vengeance and rage that he carried. He achieved his goal and killed all the Greek gods...only to find out that didn't get rid of the anger and hate that was in his heart. Newer games is all about redemption and trying to to steer his son away from his mistakes when he was younger.

Idea for a sequel: Time jump 8-10 years and Sam is in trouble. Joe gets wind of it through the news and travels from wherever he disappeared to to help. Sam has been training to be a hero like Joe for years now and despite Joe not wanting him involved in what he has to do he dives in anyway because he never listens. They stop the threat and spare Sam of whatever fate (TBD) would've befallen him and Joe reluctantly agrees to train him further and gear him up to be the new Samaritan.

Maybe Samaritan exists in the same world as Hancock? There's room, and the Lore in Hancock stated "there were others, but they're all gone." If the World believed Samaritan and Nemesis were dead, then they'd "be gone." With Hancock's amnesia, he might recognize the name Samaritan and investigate.

I'm hoping for more of a prequel to answer some questions & fill in some backstory. For example, how did Samariten & Nemesis get to be so freakishly strong & durable to begin with? The movie only offers a minimal clue with Stalone - 'old man' Samaritan (aka 'old man' Nemesis) describing him & his brother as; "genetic freaks" to the kid, during a conversation in one scene. There's got to be more to the backstory than that. The 'genetic freaks' element might suggest something that, at least one of their parents went through or had. Or even something in the bloodline - going back centuries. That could bring up the possibility of their ancestors being the basis for the old myths & legends from many ancient cultures about Gods, given that in many myths from those cultures, about Gods, the gods themselves are, usually, immensely strong, physically). If that's the genetic trait that they inherited, it would explain their physical strength - as 1 such possibility. But I'm sure Hollywood could flesh out something like that, or some other explanation far better...

It wasn't epic or grand as a superhero movie but it was more in line with The Shadow or Phantom on a limited budget but it got me hooked, with the hammer made from Nemesis I wondered if there is a more supernatural side their abilities, I'd hoped that more lore and history between the twins could be better explored with that guy conspiracy theorist writer, the family etc.

I see Nemesis as being more of a mix of Lex Luther and Doctor Doom character types. I don't think he was a villain but more of a lethal protector/misguided vigilante because grief can lead you down a dark path since their parents were killed by the so called law of granite city. I honestly would rather see a origin story with Stallone acting as narrator (animated or live action) to help concrete the lore better, before they make a sequel to Samaritan.

i loved the movie. I loved the action also. It would have been better if Cyrus was related to Joe/Nemesis somehow. I would also love to see Joe's Brother come back in a sequel. Maybe Joe's brother survived but figured the only way to stop Nemesis was to disappear and stop fighting him. They could make it as Joe starts doing superhero work as Samaritan, his brother starts to take note. But when Joe starts battling another superpowered gang Joe's brother is force to come back and save him. Then they work together to and save the day. Anyway i hope he does make a sequel.

It's hilarious to me when people say what u said. So u didn't see or get any political or social justice rethoric in the comics??? U must not have read them. Not one comic around doesn't allude to politics and social settings and justice. Not one! From DC to marvel to the smaller jawns, every comic ever has dealt on some level with politics and social reform. Everyone. So y wouldn't it be in the movies. Are u serious. Like people want to run away from society and politics all day and then wonder why it's broken and corrupt. It's the job of comics to give fantasy but also challenge the status quo thru a fantastical lense. The xmen represent black people during the 60s. Batman is always fighting corrupt politics and underground mafia. Superman fights for truth justice and the American way. Like 😆 stop with the stupid I don't want the real world in my comic movies when it's a staple in the writings. Go somewhere.

Watched the movie 2-3 nights ago .. I didnt nessicarly pick up on the swerve .. so i got it when it came out in the movie. This was a very good movie that wouldnt have done well in the theater but would have been fine as a paid direct to release.

Possible spoiler for video, so placing below lines. - - - - - This movie is similar to something done in the MMO City of Heroes, and a later game, the MoBA MXM (Master X Master). The lead hero from City of Heroes, Statesman, was killed, leading the world into a slump of increased crime and hopelessness, even as the heroes struggled to step in for him. In MXM, they replaced him with his evil alternate counterpart from the Praetorian dimension, Tyrant, who had a change of heart after Statesman's death, and took over his mantle to become the new Statesman, and hero of earth, in his honor.

The Kid was good in the show Euphoria. I think he actually practices boxing which why his shadow boxing came across as really good for an actor.
