Please can you do a tips and tricks on canals and how to make them look cool and work properly! :)

Also, freeway interchanges in real life are HUGE! A freeway-to-freeway interchange can real life can consume your whole downtown area, because of the grading for the ramps and the minimum curve radii. Limiting your freeway exits to the most important connections to your city works a lot better than having every road that crosses the highway have an exit.

I've done about 90% of this wrong lol. but, I've been learning slowly thanks to your tips, and videos. you explain really well, which makes it easy to understand how doing this or that effects how your city looks, traffic flows. I'm not that good at making nice scenery, but you have given nice tips for idea's on that, just showing your city. You were the one who I watched for essential mods to use in cities skylines, and thanks to you showing: Traffic manager, move it! and, road anarchy mods, even my not so good cities look and flow much better now. I had bad issues with all my traffic wanting to use one lane only for most my city, now I can get them to use more then one lane and still go where they need to go. So thanks for that video, this video, and all the other tip videos you make.

Please make a video where young in to detail regarding highways, like should they be elevated, or the type of connections etc. also trains, how to plan a good train line that isn’t a roller coaster (without elevated stations, if possible)

Just put down roads with bus lanes so they don’t stop the traffic on stations. It would be unrealistic not to have any bus stations on your main roads since that’s where most of them are located in real life.

Hi Sam! You doing good stuff and every time when one of your videos pops up in my recommendations thats inspire me to back to game, build some stuff, then get bored and delete game again and again :) With everytime my cities looks better. Last impressive things what I done is: city with 3 levels (heights) of roads in same places (road on road and under road :)) without any traffic problems; future-like 6angles (hexagon) roads everywhere which looks awesome but not work well with bigger cities. Keep all that good stuff what you are doing! Amazing cities!

Where to create historic districts versus when to expand into modern transportation or commercial infrastructure. Basically, how do we define land use based on value and accessibility? Perhaps tackle the topic of gentrification? Your videos are a masterclass in city design!

I recommend you try this, its a tram boulevard so get to three lane one way streets going in opposite directions, parallel and 4 squares apart, then put tram tracks in between (and trees)

What I find interesting is that some of these tricks in the game are actually counterintuitive for real city design. I wonder what your thoughts are on this. Because for livability and walkability you'd actually want lots of intersections, not all with lights of course. But you can time lights to match speed limits and allow for an easy flow through a city center. Portland, Oregon is a good example of this where the light speeds are timed with the speed of riding a bike on the road and have 200'x200' blocks.

good video, but i only counted 9 ;-) but they were decent ones -- most especially the idea of one-way roads in industrial areas and separating industry traffic from commuters. While they sound obvious, they were new to me! i also like to separate the external railway from my internal cargo network, not only so i can better control the exports, but also so i use more locally produced goods in my city (which in theory is less expensive than importing supplies and goods)

My biggest turn off when watching a Cities Skylines build is improper of the transportation network. Maybe its just me, but I feel all things you mentioned are pretty intuitive. I've always like roundabouts, I know here in the States roundabouts weren't really a big thing prior to about five years ago.

I know this is an older video, but I must say.. I cannot get my water to look realistic like yours in this video. Mine always looks like someone dumped color Kool-Aid or dye in mine. I really would give anything to learn how to get natural looking clear water.
