The square yellow sign means that it is the main line. Is a sign used in Europe.

I normally like to play without mods but these look so damn useful, especially since they are implementing functions we should have in the game anyway.

16:55 This sign means that you have priority, it's basically the opposite of the inverted triangle . Where I live in France, we've got these road signs on country roads so we know that we'll have priority if there is an intersection with a small road.

You can use Ctrl+Z to undo stuff with the move it mod :)

@Sam Bur, Awesome production! Thanks a lot for this comprehensive presentation of these great modes. The sign with yellow background is "priority road" and is commonly used in Europe at almost every junction with priority. Note, that the shape of the sign - tilted square - is unique. This is deliberate design to be easily recognized also from behind by the drivers approaching from the different junction arms, as a double assurance in case they miss a give way sign or the give way sign is missing.

That was long needed! :-) Had already several of that mods, but didn't know about all of their finesses. Thank you. Additionally your english is good for listening too and understanding (for me as a german native speaker). Will definitely look more of your videos.

After watching many other videos from your channel, this one finally made me subscribe and understand the mods more clearly where as I spent hours watching other tutorials and still could not understand. With extra landscaping tools the brush that looks like a hill that you said levels out terrain does not do that it is the slope tool which when you right click sets the upper boundary. If you were to left click anywhere far away from the reference point (right click) and move your cursor while holding left mouse button down it would keep the original terrain height at that point and as you move towards the reference point draw a smooth slope between those 2 points. Most useful for rivers and mountain roads.

I abandoned the game shortly after it came out, but now that I've installed it again with a few quality of life mods, oh man, it's so much better. Move it! and the traffic manager are a must if you value your sanity.

18:30 The effect of that button is to have them enter the intersection even if there's not yet room for them on the other side. Which can speed up flow, but can block crossing traffic.

a mod that always seems to slip people's minds is the network extensions mod. vanilla game comes with 3 highway types, 3 lane, 3 lane w/soundproofing, and offramp. then there's all the other road types it provides, plus ped paths.

If I got it right, despawning is enabled in vanilla game by default. TM: PE allows you to disable despawning, so advising everyone to have this option enabled is not very good idea, better keep it disabled actually. On one side, this can make game harder and more challenging, but it also keeps buggy vehicles on the road so it can really annoy when you have a lot of traffic because of some stuck train or car. By the way, I also really like *Real Time* and *Improved Public Transport*, you may find them useful. First mod makes days longer, improving AI to act different at different time of day or different days of week. It's helpful for large cities because traffic becoming more realistic and in vanilla I believe every vehicle spawning not accurate, and may bring unrealistic traffic. Improved Public Transport allows you to adjust which vehicles do you wan to see on line, control their capacity and all that stuff. In vanilla, pretty big bus can only handle about 30 cims if I remember right. So if you need to transport more people, you need to fill your roads with this buses, and they will one by one arrive to the stops and block everything. I believe this bus should handle about 45 cims, and you can use articulated or double-deck buses, which can handle up to 120 people I think. There are a lot of buses in workshop, and they're made well, not using a lot of tris or textures. _Tip: you should probably disable feature called "unbunching" which is enabled by default. There is a option called "unbunching agression" in settings. It works weird and make your buses to wait very long time on stops, and I think it supposed to do vice versa._ Plus to Improved Public Transport you can adjust trains with *Metro Overhaul Mod*, to make trains handle big amount of people as they really do, and use on-ground metro, which is cheaper than trains.

About the TM:PE road restrictions option, it doesn't create real restrictions by default, it just makes cars prefer not to take the restricted road. So if you create a tiny service lane between two roads that you want only emergency vehicles to use, and the only other path between those roads is via some giant intersection up ahead, you'll find that cars routinely take it even though they're not supposed to. That's because the cars see the giant intersection as "worse" than your tiny road. There is an option in the mod menu to increase the severity of the restrictions, up to totally strict. On the other hand, if you do your routes wrong it can make cars take bizarre detours that are hard to follow or notice.

Don't make my mistake with move it and get it because it was recommended but you were already pretty advanced so couldn't be bothered to figure it out right away. move it is amazing and you just have to choose to not cheat with it, if that's your problem but road layouts get 1000x easier. Fine Road Tool and Fine Road Anarchy as well. The game really gets soo good w/ mods tho...It's like your dream model train sim after a certain point but w/ the addition of traffic and managing real transportation issues lol The last one - I've been looking for a way to manage street lights. I didn't think it was possible outside of road addons. Thanks!

The game is actually unplayable without the traffic manager.

The gold diamond sign with the white border, i don't know what its called there but we have it here in europe (Netherlands) It means that you're on a road where people have to yield for you it's the opposite of the upsidedown triangle (yield) sign

Not sure if you are aware but with TMPE, if you want to clear a junction of lane connector you can click the junction once then press the "Delete" button. That will clear all lane connectors for the entire intersection.

Yellow square means priority designated to the lane. If we approach the intersection and our lane having such sign, then other vehicle within the intersection without the sign should allow us to move across first.

Yep, yellow and white diamond is used on the European mainland to give priority. Otherwise it is give way to the right. What fun it was discovering that one in France. Why everyone just can't drive on the right side of the road, which is left is beyond me :P

i've never used move it i have no idea how i managed to build without it until now. IT HAS BEEN SO STRESSFUL. that mod is a lifesaver.

Diamond is: you are on the road that has the priority (main road), so in case of a 4 way intersection that doesn't have a traffic light, the cars on that road will always go first. Opposite of Diamond is the triangle, which means: you are on the road that has no priority (secondary road, 2 lane road compared to a avenue for example). Stop sign is literally: you have to stop no matter what (cars have to stop even if there are no cars on the intersection, if there are cars, you go last. and the X is: you can't go to the intersection, you have to go back.

I believe the square sign with yellow in the middle is like the opposite of "give way" signs. If they have that sign they can just pass straight through the intersection when they drive.
