I'm a bi woman, who chose to marry a male back in the late 80s. He paid for dinner (most of the time), was very supportive and kind (even to service people, so surely he's a beta male?), is funny and makes me laugh (and laughs at my jokes, so I guess he must be woke, 'cause woman can't be funny). Seriously, I would never trust men like this to tell anyone what women want, or WHY they want it. Women, like men, are NOT a monolith; some women may be attracted to guys that take them out for sushi before a rad run at the skateboard park, or whatever, and some women like smart, funny men who are possibly good-looking, with beards, maybe balding, but always reliable, supportive, and a joy to live with. (Secret shout out to my husband in our 35th years of marriage.)

As a formerly closeted lesbian who dated a manly Libertarian guy in college who was super into guns, trucks, rebuilding classic cars, rock climbing, spelunking, diving, hunting, and camping in the wilderness, I can say with absolute certainty that no, it's not because we just haven't been exposed to "manly" men. Manly men are the grossest to me, and no amount of shirtless Jason Momoa or Jeremy Allen White in underwear will ever turn me straight. It just makes me more gay. However, Tim "Low T" Pool also makes me more gay, so if he wants to apply his own theory to that logic, that's fine with me.

As a woman myself, I'm actually afraid of 'real masculine' guys with too many muscles. And if a stranger on the internet says, "Hey, I wanna pay your bills," I would definitely reject that offer. I'm paying my own bills since I'm not a child anymore. First, being a lesbian means that you're only attracted to girls by nature, and there's nothing guys can do about it. Secondly, where comes this absurd idea from that women don't like feminist boys? How ridiculous is that? Does he even know what the word feminist means? Maybe we love guys who are feminist, who split the bills, who take paternity leave, who are splitting child care and housework, etc. And maybe we are rather appalled or turned off by masculine and misogynistic guys like him.

@@in_wino_veritas You forget Dim Tool has a mental age of twelve. Dude is almost forty, and still can't admit he's bald. How many other hang-ups are women walking into there? I'm getting ready to cut down more 35 ft willow trees with a 21ft pole saw. Does that make me more of a man in his warped world view? Because I'm pretty sure you, or any other able-bodied woman, could do it just as well. I may have an advantage by being 6.3" and 205lbs, but once you got used to using the saw that doesn't matter. Being able to hold a bigger brush doesn't make you a better artist. In fact, I had a girl on our allotment/urban garden site doing it the other day. She is studying horticulture like I did, so I put the kettle on the stove, made a cuppa and explained how to use it. It's a pretty awkward thing to manage, when extended to the full 21ft. The rest was how to make a clean cut, making sure the saw is clear when the trunk/branch starts to go. Along with basic safety rules, like always have a pre-planned direction to run like feck. I have had them drop exactly where I wanted them to go, I have also had a large 4-5" branches swing round so that the thick end lands on the pole saw. Which means that large chunk of tree is now riding down the pole saw at a fair rate towards your face. Get hit with one of those, and you won't think twice about dropping the saw, and running away. Speaking from experience.

It is amazing to me that we're still having this conversation today. Homosexuality is, for the most part as there are most likely variations, it's involuntary. It is not a learned behavior, it is not something you choose. There may very well be exceptions to this as when it comes to people there's really never a one size fits all model. People tend to be many shades of gray; non-binary in many aspects. I thought at the turn of the century, we as a society understood that sexual orientation is not something one has control over. As a gay man, living in a very hetro-normative world back in the 90s. I had to come to grips with the reality that i was in fact gay; a homosexual. I fought that, because the brain washing begins early. Told by many adults around me in my youth, that being gay was wrong and even a choice. Well, I tried to be with a woman, actually tried to lose my virginity with a girl in my class. Hell, I was told by society that's how it works; no that's not what happened. What ended up happening was embarrassing, but ultimately led me to realize. My Homosexuality was not something I could change. My first kiss I had with my first boyfriend gave me a feeling I'd never felt with any girlfriend I'd ever had. When he and I kissed, I finally understood what people talked about when they said "fireworks" or "sparks" and sweaty palms with butterflies in the stomach. It felt special, it felt magical. The girlfriend I tried to lose my virginity to was the first person I came out to. Her reaction was really funny. She said "nnnnooo....oo well.. actually that's makes a lot of sense." She came to take great pride in this saying "wow, I had sex with a gay guy" lol. We're still friends today, she's an amazing woman and a mother now. I have a husband, which I never thought would be possible in my lifetime. He and I have been together for eleven years. The point is one does not just become a lezbian because men aren't being healthy. There was nothing wrong with the woman I tried to lose my virginity to. I'm a homosexual, and that's no one's fault; it just simply is. This apparently is just something Tim Poolhead can't seem to grasp.
@Nadesey
@Nadesey 5 ай бұрын
The fact Tim Pool thinks this is a new theory shows how cognitively limited he is. This is just another variation of the same old, "You just haven't gotten with the right man yet." There are women who have had lasting relationships with feminine men. Does this automatically mean that those women are actually lesbians because it fails to comply with Tim Pool's idea of what is universally applicable? I like how people like Tim Pool will consistently complain about having to hear about LGBT people, but they can't stop talking about us every single day.

Tim's logic is nonsensical anyway. And you can turn it on its head by asking whether the only reason Tim is heterosexual is because he hasn't met a hot enough gay man. Because, if the mechanism works in one direction, as he claims, it should work in the other direction too. Thus, the only reason Tim likes women (well, let me rephrase that: The only reason Tim is sexually attracted to women) is because he hasn't yet been swept of his feet by a gay man. It means that subconsciously, he's always looking out for the possibility. I'm sure Tim would accept this argument, because it makes complete logical sense.
