Thank you for sharing this video. I just purchased this mic for various purposes, gaming, karaoke, and possibly streaming. After listening to the differences of quality, it seems that this mic really shines hooked up to an XLR. I will have to purchase that next. Best of luck with your channel, it's very professional.

You are very welcome. Yes, using XLR with it is the best option. All USB Dynamic microphones have volume issues unless they come with special software that compensates for that - such as the elgato and Yeti.

Nice job on the review David. This mic has a nice warm full sound. Reminds me very much of the Shure SM-58.

Best "bang-for-the-buck" microphone ever! I have had a Q2U for years, they designed the mic back in the days before USBC was a thing.

Most USB mics are condenser. Some folks like the presence peak characteristics of dynamic microphones that can add warmth to a voice. I like this Samson mic. I'm not listening on the best speakers right now, but it seems similar to a Shure SM-58, but with a USB option. Minor correction. The Samson brand has no "p" in the name. It may help discovery of this video if you make this correction in your title and description.

One of the most common constructive criticism I got on my channel was to get a better mic quality haha so finally did - I will hopefully start making videos again. What do you have your recording volume set too for the Q2U?

I am using a mixer, so that is hard to relate to what the Windows setting actually is sine it is coming in through the 'Line In' connector - in that mode mode Windows is set to 100%. When I have it connected through USB I need to set it up to about 90% within windows.
