UPDATE 31/08/2021: Battery life has vastly improved after a firmware update. From 18 hours I am now getting 1.5 - 2 day battery life which is much better than before.

@@safwatelnamnam4684 all features are turned on. Original 46mm watch has a bigger battery which they downgraded to a smaller capacity in later models

Just to say thank you for this review. Answered the questions I had about this watch now I'm considering buying it. Probably because of a software update since this review was done, but heart. rate can now be monitored constantly as can stress. Eats up battery power faster but might be useful. Regarding BP test, the GW4 calibration instructions specifically state another device should not measure simultaneously on the same arm - which makes sense, since the cuff temporarily cuts off blood flow. I've found it to be quite accurate when tested properly. That said, I much appreciate this very thorough and clear review. Good work, thank you. And thank you also for placing your health first 👍🏽

Great review, seems to be most feature packed and good health sensors, battery life is a worry coming from S3 but nothing else seems to close until other wear os 3 device becoming available, in a years time (Samsung have locked this in). Stay healthy man.

Fantastic video review of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 classic sir, I just received mine "the LTE" version a couple of days ago & like you said the quality & features are top notch compared to the competition with or without Wear OS based at similar or higher price range. This is only my third smart watch ever & my first Sammy watch but no Samsung phones, however all the ECG, body composition measurement, stress levels...etc seems to function with my Sony Xperia 1 M II but I haven't fully tested everything or taken it for a test run outdoors.

As always, best reviewer for smart watches. The only thing I'm actually pretty annoyed about is the 20mm band. All the 22mm bands I have from previous watches won't work.

UPDATE! Got mine in the mail today; awesome watch aaaalmost everything we wanted. HATE the little strap though. Spigen has an armor case coming out for it that beefs it up for those of us who like slightly chunkier watches; which includes a thick strap built into the case. Just need google assistant to make an appearance and for ECG and BP to work in Canada, and it'll be the watch of my dreams. Legit though whoever at samsung decided to have 20mm band for the bigger watch is a moron lol

Best review I’ve seen, very honest & has helped me decide to buy the watch (upgrade to my old frontier) & mainly for the health monitors. I charge my watch daily anyway so wasn’t to bothered about the battery life.

Great review! I've had my Galaxy Watch 4 for two days now and haven't even begun to learn all of its features. I'm coming from an original Galaxy Watch, so this is a nice upgrade. My only issue is battery life on my LTE version. I'd love a video with tips for saving battery while still enjoying the watch. Right now, I run a static watch face and take it off while sitting at my desk to add some charge from my phone so that I can sleep with it on.

Do you still use the watch? How much time on your battery you have now? Me I would disable all the health monitoring, maybe instead of sleep if you really want it ( how much would that give you? )

I was thinking to upgrade my Ticwatch Pro 3 to the Galaxy, but battery is a deal killer. The Ticwatch has absolutely fantastic battery life... we can't blame wear-os anymore for this, Ticwatch has shown how it's done. Just wish it had the rotating bezel.

I have been using the smaller watch4 classic and I've consistently had 36~38 hrs of battery, the battery life did get longer and more consistent after an update or two.

Probably one of the best reviews I've seen for a long time - thanks very much for that, it was particularly interesting to me as I'm pondering whether to buy a smartwatch, don't know what though although I was thinking of the Samsung G4 (not the Classic). I don't know if anyone knows the answer to this but I'm waiting for delivery of the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro (laptop) which has a charging pad for my (Samsung 🤣) phone - could this also charge the G4 watch? Also, what are the chances of being able to use the laptop to charge the other smartwatch I'm interested in - the TicWatch Pro 3. Keep up the good work and keep taking the tablets - I'm in the same boat as you! 👍

04:25 For me personally, I went with the LTE version for peace of mind. Let's say I'm going on a run without my phone - I agree that it's not necessary to have internet access, since you can still use gps and listen to music stored on the device. But: Let's say I trip and get hurt, or some other emergency occurs - with the LTE version I always have the peace of mind that I can call 911, even if I don't have the eSim activated. In fact, it'll do it for me when I'm unconscious using the fall detection. Imo this could save my or someone else's life which I'll happily pay 40 bucks more for

I was just pissed off that i found out after i brought it the LTE version has to be the same service provider as your phone. I have a prepaid phone and i thought the watch would be able to have its own service independent of my phone. Well, you live and you learn i guess.

wonderful/ quite detailed review....just one point want to underscore here- BP cuff should have been put in another arm....as putting both things together in one limb would give incorrect reading....else it was fantastic review.

Yes your right but I did test on same arm but one at a time, not at the same time. I did also switch arms afterwards to see if there was a major difference, and very similar results.

Charge your watxh when you take a shower or bath man, stop being dirty, i charge my watch every day in the morning while I shower, from waking up to leaving the house before work thats over a hours charge. I don't need to wear it 24/7 and times I need a break from it. Just like a mobile phone you'll charge it. Of you want days upon days of battery life don't get a full featured smart watch or a smart phone with lots of features. Getting my GW4 Classic on Monday and returning my GW3

I already own a previous version but the fact that a brand new watch lasts less than a days usage of all its fancy offerings is something "I" don't agree. Tried using the prev watch on my day out in bright sun where the brightness had to be full made me anxious thinking when will i get a bath! 😆

@@ukkhushal lol I've never had any issues using mine outside in Bright sunlight auto brightness does it thing. Clearly they will optimise it better but I laugh when people cry about battery life. I've had mine off charge now since this morning and it's on 85%, won't charge it till I wake up again tomorrow I'm at a Festival it'll last me from a good hours charge in the morning.
