He was going off what he knew I wouldn't be too harsh for that, but yes if you don't know the full picture you should not try to make a firm assessment. There have been several fires I have been on where you couldn't send out a message because you were run over by other units. Usually it is accidental, but it can make a situation worse. My dad was operating on a fire a few years ago and got the line stretched but everyone kept telling him to put the fire out that he was looking at, but he couldn't tell his engineer to charge the line because everyone kept talking over him. After a minute they finally shut up long enough for him to talk. As everyone knows that minute could make or break knocking down a fire, lucky it didn't on that particular one. That is one thing that needs to be taken into consideration, especially around here. Only talk when you need to, and make it short, and concise, but talk slowly enough to make it easy to understand. Long messages = time wasted = possibility for the situation to get worse.
