Glad you are enjoying the content I appreciate you sticking a thumbs up not sure how it helps but KZfaq prompts content creators to ask for likes and subscriptions my opinion on this is if you watch a video and like it, that's when it should be pressed if someone enjoys the channels content and wants to see the latest videos uploaded that's what the subscribe button is for I did fall for the prompting that youtube encourages but soon realise the best viewers are the one that reach out like your comment it means a lot more to me that you don't need prompts so thank you 😊👌👍

@@Mobileblaster That was a fast reply 👍 just out of interest how long did it take to blast the container & how much grit did you use ? (In weight or bags, however its measured ?) Ive been in the motortrade most my life restoring vintage vehicles so I've taken hundreds of items to the blasters but never watched the process 👍🇬🇧

@ianlitchfield9273 I was just heading to bed stud at the door waiting for the dog to do her business so I had my phone in my hand 😂 in all honesty blasting containers aren't really worth doing as the costs involved out price a good 2nd hand unit sometimes is false economy but this just happens to be a different story insurance paid out on the container and he got to keep the old 1 so didn't mind the costs. Inside and out I cannot remember off the top of my head but I would say around the 600kgs of media it could have been more or it could have been less like I say I cannot really remember 👍

Hello from that northwest bit of Turtle Island you might know as Vancouver BC! This video was great. You cleaned down to the bare metal.... and then got a bonus coat of paint on! My only question is...what about the top of the can? I suspect other folks have already asked, so I'll check the comments. Sandblasting seems like a meditative gig. All the KZfaq carpenters whinge about sanding. To me it's like a slightly cleaner sort of gardening. There's a smell, a taste, a rhythm, a sound, a feel, and shadows and sheen. The noise of the compressor and the safety gear likely take away some of the meditation. The weather seems like a fair trade: outdoors but maybe too warm or cold. As much as ASMR is fashionable, I'm as attracted to your channel by the blasting as I am by your soundtracks. While you might play whatever you like, the retrotechno on this video fits the gig. I prefer to see the bare surface of your metal items. I appreciate that some of your customers don't require 100% clean surfaces. I can always skip to the videos that get down to the OG material. The first time I heard the word "sandblasted" was in high school. I was listening to Frank Zappa's "Jewish Princess." That reference left me confused for years. My school principal also confused me because why I mixed up sandblasting with stucco. My school was in a graffiti battle with another school up the hill. Our principal got on the tannoy and told us that our antics were costing the school district in sandblasting costs. One day I saw the repair in progress and it wasn't being cleaned. A worker was up on a cherry picker with a bucket of stucco mix. They were flinging a trowelful at a time at the painted part of the wall. Most of the mix fell onto the ground. I didn't think that was blasting anything. The first time I saw proper sandblasting was on Hand Tool Rescue a few years back. It seemed like overkill on parts that could be cleaned by stripping fluids and wire brushes or wheels. Then I saw ship maintenance videos and felt like that was more like it. Anyways, thanks for the content and I hope your gigs are as satisfying as they look!

Thank you 😊 yeah some customers don't require deep clean and to stay competitive on price I've to find the balance of just enough 👌 I enjoy the blasting more than painting so I try to stay clear of paint 😬

I sand blast a lot at my job. i see your using a 1/2 inch or inch sand pool. Brother you need a 4 inch flat sand head. it cuts four inches wide at a time. it will make your job a lot easier and better results as well. And awesome job on that by the way
@Mobileblaster
@Mobileblaster Жыл бұрын
The flat nozzle just stretches the hotspot out so you lose the intensity of the cut similar to stepping back yeah the hotspot is bigger but less affective. Flat nozzles are only useful if the serface only needs a very light clean 👍

@Mobileblaster if you did you could make a killer buck as a blast and coat specialist. Working from Newport News shipbuilding I've seen those spray pumps throw out a ludicrous amount of paint. However, not matter what, even a "perfect" spray job will need a few days of touch up work and it's extremely tedious. So I can see why you blast 99% of the time

@picklepee2771 To be honest I've never needed the skill my brother ownes and operates a commercial body shop and it was through him I got into blasting in the early days he got most to all the contacts I needed all we would do is on site blast and he would paint then he would go down a slightly different root doing full restorations of modified motors kinda leaving me with a skill and equipment needed to venture my own root we still do the occasional big heavy stuff no one else likes to take on but not as much these days

@@Mobileblaster Mick it's water based so environmentally friendly same as rain 😂😂😂😂... The product I use is called ferrozinc.. it's like a white wash but soaks into any pours in the steel and creates a rust inhibitor.. then if ya Wana be extra professional u can then apply a cold zinc undercoat over the top.. any good high zinc oxide paint will make the job good base to apply a top coat or blacking.

@Chris Bennington I want to find a rust inhibitor that's water based that will hold flash rusting back for 12 to 48 hour so if im doing something metal outdoors and it rains I want the opportunity to fly over with a inhibitor so it doesn't spoil the job 👌
